Superhero AU, Secret Identity, Misunderstanding

With what feels like dread at the back of his throat, Scar watches the rope around them disappear, right as the feeling of an unknown power crawls under his skin. The vigilante at his side blinks, before his mouth curls up in a snarl. "What did you do?" It's exactly when Cuteguy untangles himself from Scar that the problem arises. It starts off as a dizziness, so powerful his head swims. But then, the feeling of being seasick transforms into something sharp, a pure blade of pain sliding under his ribcage. Whatever it is that's been done to them, it hurts, and a blurry look at Cuteguy hissing at his side tells him he's not the only one suffering this fate. As if set off by a forgotten instinct, his hand shoots out to grab the vigilante's, and the throbbing pain against his ribs eases off. Sharing a horrified look, they turn in unison to the villain, who's been laughing at them the whole time. Scar's not the type to swear excessively, but the situation might deserve a resounding Fuck. They're stuck.

Being hit by a power forcing them to share skin contact for 12 hours should be the ideal situation to help Hotguy's crush on the pink vigilante, right?

Such a shame Cuteguy's in love with someone else.

To celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Double-Hearted (DDVAU) on November 4th, a group of us fans have put together a drawing/writing prompt list for the whole month of November!

What is Double-Hearted (DDVAU)?

Double-Hearted is a comic created by Doody (@kitsuneisi) and Maruu (@xmaruu11) based off of Hermitcraft and the Life Series. It follows the adventures and misadventures of Scar and Grian as they navigate their double lives—one as the beloved celebrity hero Hotguy, the other as popular vigilante Cuteguy, both unaware they're coworkers at the same university.

Can I start working on it now?

Of course! We wanted to give plenty of time so people can start preparing now to help avoid burnout. Feel free to participate as much or as little as you’d like as well. Late uploads are also a-okay!

What if I'm not an artist?

We tried our best to make most of the prompts writer-friendly as well with the exceptions of Day 22 and Day 30, but feel free to use those as two more free days instead!

What's up with the bonus Day?

At the request of Maruu themself, we've added a bonus day at the very beginning for the first completed arc of Double-Hearted! Since the Mother Spore arc takes place on October 31st, it’s only fitting.

guys. guys. listen. listen. cub and mumbo as a ship have the most perfect setup and you all are sleeping on it but never fear!! as i am here to spread the Good News of cumbo. number one. they're both fucking insane in the head. they both have the capacity to become completely and totally and exquisitely obsessed with each other in a really weird and probably really fucked up way. number two. they're the Best Friends (trademark pending) of scar and grian respectively. they're both victims witnesses of Whatever The Fuck those two have going on at all times. they can complain to each other about it. they can complain together about how scar and grian dance around each other all the fucking time and how insufferable they both are because of it. they can unknowingly start their own dance, orbiting each other at a distance until one of them goes fucking crazy and veers off course and they make out sloppy style. it's perfect. it's perfect.
