Vampire Kicken! Laying on Marigolds and Lilly of the valleys. Not too sure I like the background unaltered or not. I do know the alt versions look extremely cool to me though.

I kinda just want to slowly eventually draw each of them, it may not be a reference sheet but it got to draw him.

Anyway. Kicken lives all on his own in a lighthouse near Play Town, just by the beach. It was given to him a good while after he found himself there in town. He works at a club, one of the owners of the club gave the lighthouse to him since no one's using it, least of all them. He used to work at a flower shop, he enjoyed it and it was actually something he liked more than the bar but he learned that due to him being a vampire less people would come (for his charm to work you need to meet him.) Rumors of a vampire working there concerned and chased away potential customers. He eventually left, much to the store owners dismay, but Kicken couldn't tell if it was because they genuinely liked having him to nearly the point of treating him like a son, or if it was all his charm magic.

Kickin hates his magic, he longs for genuine connection but never finds himself in the right areas to find someone with an immunity to his magic.

Yes, I made him trans. Thought it'd be fun if before he turned into a vampire he ended up, instead of going to the doctors, figuring out how to do a botched surgery himself. He ended up in the hospital a while, but he did technically succeed. He later got markings/tattoos on them to decorate his body a little and because he thought it would look cool (Pretty).

•Catnap and Kicken go missing, they're kidnapped by a vampire that wants to turn them. (Extremists that are trying to change as many people as they can into vampires to rid of Non-Vampires.)

•Kicken forces Catnap to escape without him in fear for his friends safety when the vampire takes a liking to him. Catnap succeeded in escaping but he was still turned. Kicken is turned and made into his personal friend. (Luckily that just means he's their talk buddy.)

•Kicken has forgotten about all his friends. He feels like he has a huge piece missing, this is only worsened when he discovers his magic is a powerful charm that he can't turn off. The charm enables him to escape his captor but he doesn't know anyone in "Play Town", the place he was brought to. He does his best to find where he fits he starts by working in a small flower shop.

•Kicken ends up having to quit working at the flower shop when he learns that the business has been slowly decreasing thanks to word of him being a vampire. (He has to be seen for his charm to work) The owners didn't want him to leave but he managed to get them to let him promising he'd by flowers occasionally. He couldn't tell if they genuinely wanted to become his family or if it was all because of his charm magic. He slowly learns that he can get and do about anything he wants. For a while he takes advantage of this not knowing what else to do.

So far this is what I've come up with design wise for the Smiling Critters. Only Catnap lol. I had an image in my head for his eyes and couldn't stop untill I actually made it so he's been my main focus for the moment. I will eventually do the others. Untill then take my Catnap doodles and kinda almost done WIP.

50/50 on if I give them cloths.

Extra info:

Catnap's abilities are limited to what HE has the capability of doing. The only times it's not exactly his capabilities is if all he has to do is talk to people or tell someone about something.

It's not impossible for him to potentially have a moment when he might have to make a choice between saving two people (he's yet to experience this.) It's also not impossible for someone to have the potential to be saved and him not see it (because there was nothing HE could do), that's his biggest fear since figuring out his power.

The reason Kickins power doesn't work on the others inside the crew is; Picky and Dogday also have a built up immunity to charming magic, Hoppy’s ability has a weird response to Kickin's causing his charm to be numbed enough on her for her to break from it on her own, Catnap usually isn't affected by charm magic unless it's full of lullabies and promises.

Crafty isn't affected because of her affinity to magic and an enchanted earring she wears. Bobby… she technically is affected but, she also wouldn't change at all if she wasn't. People like that usually are in a weird limbo with the charm where it's nearly impossible to tell if they are affected or if due to their nature of liking others indefinitely, they aren't.

The people that know eachother; Dogday, Bubba, Picky, and Bobby. They actually all knew eachother at one point, however when you're turned into a vampire it's common for l anyone that knew them to forget about them, in some cases even they forget their friends themselves. Hoppy and Kickin don't remember them just as they don't remember them. Crafty remembers everything however sees no reason to try and tell them that, enjoying her chance to start over as a new her. Catnap is an uncommon kind where most remember him or more specifically they remember him veagly but never quite enough for him to be recognized unless he where to tell them its him, like he did with Bubba.

Should I post about my barely scratched at Smiling Critters AU?

(All of what I've done can/could change but as of right now..) The short run down is half of them are vampires (Catnap, Kicken, Hoppy, Crafty), half of them are not (Picky is a detective, Dogday and Bubba are Vampire hunters, Bobby is the determined "damsel".)

It is very Ship heavy because I like that stuff. It's main is of course Dogday and Catnap. Then there's StarStudent, then Picky and Crafty. Hoppy and Bobby are an iffy on if I wanna make it a ship or keep it as friends (probably will stay as friends in this AU.). But anyway... Um...

Some rambling kinda rant-ish under the cut I did to get my emotions out.

It has major shipping in it since I get sucked into that stuff easily when my brain goes "these characters are now going to be your main source of daydreaming, coping, and happiness and stuff" and while I follow people that make me feel good about shipping em all, and see so many people sharing in the varried possibilities and fun make believe, all it takes is that one post, comment, thing, to send ya back into a "stop it, your disgusting, don't do anything online, don't interact with anyone, you should actually hurt yourself for shipping them at all, blah blah blah" spiral, and the thing is you don't even feel that way towards the people you look at, just upset and mad at yourself and then more mad because that thing is the biggest reason you now feel you can't or shouldn't risk making an AU or having fun with the characters like you see so many others where they don't harm anyone.

Anyway this is me trying to convince myself to do it because I really do want to. I missed my chance at all my other fandoms since I'm no longer in that same high for them unfortunately, but my stupid brain needs some semblance of validation that I can indeed do what I want, I'm allowed to be weird, I'm allowed to have fun, I'm allowed to share it with others, I'm allowed to want to see others' reactions to it while wishing for good reactions and them to enjoy my self indulgence with me, not to mention this is tumblr I shouldn't hold back.

Anyway sorry about the rambling needed to get it all out. Saw something saying it was disgusting to ship Catnap with anyone and any of them in general, so that dampened my mood RIGHT when I was about to try and finally post something on my own kinda ship indulgent Smiling Critters AU. So this rambling is me deciding to be raw and also try and rise my mood a little bit.

Anyway that's all now. I'm done now. Just... I'ma go drown in the lovely art and posts of people I follow that ship the Smiling Critters, to try and feel better and less icky.
