Buck's so real for crashing out over the insinuation that bestie's anything other than perfect angel amazing who should be worshipped. He's so me for that
buck literally had someone sleep on a mattress on the floor with him, get up in the morning and go to the store to buy groceries, find his coffee maker in all the unpacked boxes, and cooked buck breakfast. but the insinuation that anyone might be glad that eddie was in texas made buck freak out so hard that he said several insane sentences in a row, blew up the entire potential rekindled relationship, and essentially chased him out of the house. character of all time. really stellar stuff.

(Phoenix sidles up to Rooster at the bar, while he is watching Hangman across the room talking to some other pilots)
Phoenix: So…who do we hate today?
Rooster: Shut up.
Phoenix(looking over at Hangman): Is it the guy currently making Hangman laugh? Or the guy who opened the door for him when they were all coming in the bar? [gasp] Or maybe it’s the guy standing within two scandalous inches of him…?!
Rooster: SHUT. UP.
Phoenix: - Or MAYBE, it’s the guy who’s too stupid to talk to him about how he feels! I know that guy’s definitely annoying the hell outta ME…!

i find it funny that conservatives try to paint me calling for the death and destruction of multi-billionaire CEOs as some radical "woke liberal" standpoint. as if that even has anything to do with politics, especially in this era of surface level circus politics. the same way they try to politicize the hurricanes or the wildfires destroying parts of america, as if climate change is somehow a red vs. blue issue. it's no secret i'm from a deeply conservative family in the sticks of florida and i still grew up hearing "i fought the law and the law won". the healthcare system has fucked each and every member of my family in a different way at one point or another, as is the case with pretty much every family in this scorched earth nation. remember when country music, the genre currently associated the heaviest with the most conservative faction of america, used to be staunchly anti-government and about sticking it to the man? remember when the coal miners, grandfathers to the "trump-er hillbillies" of appalachia that everyone loves to write off as ignorant, fought tooth and nail for unionization because the companies that were built off their labor didn't give a shit if they lived or died? since when has "upholding traditional values" gone hand in hand with... defending lawmakers and oil tycoons. my family and i complain about the same issues at the dinner table. the men in charge better hope they can keep their digital smokescreens running as long as they can because the moment the rednecks and the hippies lay down their swords long enough to realize they have the same enemy, all hell is gonna break loose.

buck's coma dream should have been a supernatural the french mistake type episode where buck wakes up and he's oliver stark of the tv show 911 (who is british). and buck (pretending to be oliver stark of 911) has to keep doing interviews where he has to like. be british (he's comically bad at it). and also. for some reason they keep asking him oddly suggestive questions about buck and eddie's relationship. and he's like. uh, what. do you mean by that? i am—uh. i mean buck. buck is normal about eddie. extremely, very normal. we are—i mean they are. best friends. wait. are they not best friends? also he keeps getting messages from eddie (who is not eddie. because he's ryan guzman. apparently) that are just. video edits and fanart of him and eddie. and he promptly explodes into a million little pieces. to conclude. put buck in another coma i say.

No but I wrote a few posts about how Eddie wanted to befriend Buck during under pressure because Buck had this carefree energy he couldn't understand and wanted to know how it felt like, and that it was made more intense if they were around the same age with how Buck could maybe show him how it feels to not feel like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. And now Eddie's coming out arc is about finding joy. And they didn't stop the music so we know that Eddie allowing him joy includes Buck. I'm literally so ready.

all things considered its actually hilarious the difference between "the bt breakup was so out of left field not at all expected" and "well obviously they're breaking up, buck is wearing green."
#ok well when you say it like that we sound a little psychotic#BUT HE WAS WEARING GREEN#and he's red which makes it even more color wheel and everything

i'm not saying this to be callus or rude, but i think what's hitting a lot of buckt*mmys hard is that they're truly just unable to admit that they aren't very good at media analysis. the term 'media literacy' has become so overused in fandom that i genuinely think people forget what it means- it's a learned skill, something you have to study, something you can educate yourself on by reading papers and books and watching all sorts of movies and tv. they're all so convinced that the breakup came out of nowhere when it could not have been written more clearly; tommy has consistently been shown as an outsider in buck's life.
to claim that "everything was perfect" in 8x05 is so ridiculous i almost don't even know where to start. they had two scenes without eddie: in the first, tommy was incredibly condescending towards buck and and his interests (it's time to put away the screen, you already had your five minutes, lights out evan), and in the second scene buck literally says "my boyfriend won't even kiss me" and tommy responds with "that's not true" but they pointedly do NOT show them kissing. if the audience is meant to believe that buckt*mmy are endgame, it would have made perfect narrative sense to have them kiss right then to show (not just tell) us that tommy cares about buck, boils and all, and they did not do that.
moving onto 8x06, the only clue needed to show us they were going to break up was tommy buying buck lakers tickets. that's all it took. in 7x04 it's made so clear that buck does not like basketball. if tommy genuinely knew buck, he would not have bought him tickets to a sport the show dedicated an entire episode to telling us buck does not like! if their relationship was meant to last, tommy could have bought buck tickets to a fight in vegas like he did with eddie. this would have been a great callback, because it's supposedly the first moment buck got jealous of tommy and eddie hanging out. it would remind the audience that even though buck was jealous, he got tommy in the end and they're now doing the activities he wanted to do with tommy before.
once again, media analysis is a skill. no one is perfect at it, and ofc shows can throw away the book and make decisions that don't make sense. but to claim this came out of nowhere shows a severe lack of knowledge and understanding of how stories are written. the shippers were seeing what they wanted to see and they missed all the signs the show was sending them, and now they're claiming the rug was pulled out from under them.

The way Tommy has haunted Buck's life from episode 1 whether Ryan Murphy thought about that or not. Tommy indirectly hurt Buck by being part of the reason Abby left and then again not just by breaking up with him but why he did it too
Also so Tommy's "I'm your first, but it your last." And "can't those be the same thing" and "they usually aren't." That's gonna SIT with Buck. And it's gonna hold him back when he has his oh moment for Eddie. He's not gonna wanna just be Eddie's first.he wants to be his last.
Oh this is gonna be DELICIOUS
#911 spoilers#i think about buddie normally#911 abc#evan buckley#eddie diaz#please please please abc give me these kissboys please

liking every single tweet I see about buck getting shot in the mid-season finale and eddie getting to save him this time in a s4 shooting redux that gives eddie his feelings realization and makes them call back to the fact that last time the confession was centered solely around chris but this time chris isn't there for them to hide behind
