He lived abroad a lot during his childhood, because his father was a scientist and his work demanded of him to travel around the world.

He doesn’t like to stay much inside and he prefers to be outside. During one Weekly Idol episode he complained that the members stay indoors way too much.

Im Chang-Kyun (임창균), better known as I.M, is the lead rapper, vocalist and maknae of the boy group MONSTA X. He debuted through the Mnet's survival show No. Mercy, under Starship Entertainment.

He was supposed to debut in another group in 2014 (Nu’Bility), but plans fell through in the last minute, since he decided to leave the group.

I.M debuted as a member of MONSTA X on May 14, 2015 with their first mini-album "Trespass".

He made his solo debut on February 19, 2021, with his first digital mini album Duality.

In August 2022, he chose not to extend his contract with Starship Entertainment but will still continue to participate in the group's future plans. Later, in November, he signed an exclusive contract with Sony Music Korea for his solo activities.
