Telmarine Warrior Pt. 4
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Ship: (eventual) Peter Pevensie x reader
Warnings: animal death at very end
A/N: It only took me 4 chapters to realize I was spelling Telmarine wrong this entire time O_O well anyways I hope you enjoy and another chapter is in the works!
ALL CREDIT FOR NARNIA TO C.S LEWIS AND DIALOGUE (except from my OC) TO DISNEY
End of Previous Chapter:
“Beards and Bedsteads” the dwarf exclaimed to her right “maybe that horn worked after all…”
All eyes turned to him.
“What horn?” Susan asked
--
“Prince Caspian used it right before me and…” Y/n trailed off, looking awkwardly to the dwarf at her side.
“Trumpkin” he grunted
“…right before me and Trumpkin were taken by the Telmerains” she continued, looking between the siblings.
“I must have lost it on the hunt” Susan stated “when we…went back to England”
“How on Earth did it get in the hands of Telmarines?” Peter wondered, blue eyes flicking to Y/n. She raised her eyebrows, the suspicion in his voice not lost on her. While she couldn’t blame him for hating Telmarines, she did not appreciate being questioned after clearly almost being executed by her “kin”.
“All I know is our professor gave it to Prince Caspian before we ran away. How he got it, I don’t have a clue”
“And why did you run away?” Edmund asked suddenly. Y/n looked at him a moment before answering, considering how well she could trust the Kings and Queens of Old.
“Long story short, the Prince was in danger. He needed to get out of the city and since it’s my job to protect him with my life, I came too. We were separated when I got recaptured by the Telmarines and now I really need to get back to him”
“Can’t take care of himself?” Peter commented, prompting Y/n to glare at him. She didn’t think he was particularly magnificent so far.
“Well, we might as well get moving” Trumpkin said, gesturing to the boat “We have to tell the others about all this”
*** Silence filled the boat. The only sounds that could be heard were the steady swishing of Peters rowing and distant bird song. Occasionally a breeze would push through the forest, causing the leaves to rustle and sway above their heads. Y/n sat near the front of the boat with Lucy and Trumpkin while Susan and Edmund sat near the back. She looked around at the high cliffs surrounding the river, taking in the lush green canopy and misty waterfalls, astounded by its beauty. She had never gone farther than the fields surrounding Miraz’s Castle, where she had often practiced combat on her horse. Memories of riding with Caspian as a child filled her mind and she felt a prickle of anxiety from not knowing where or how he was. Suddenly, Lucy broke the silence,
“They’re so still.” She was gazing intently at the trees above. Trumpkin turned to look at her and then followed her gaze.
“They’re trees. What’d you expect.” He mumbled. Y/n noticed Edmund grimace sadly from the back of the boat.
“They used to dance.” Lucy replied
“Wasn’t long after you left that the Telmarines invaded.” Trumpkin continued, “Those who survived retreated to the woods. And the trees, they retreated so deep into themselves that they haven’t been heard from since.”
Y/n felt a wave of shame wash over her. Shame for the damage her ancestors had caused. Shame for the thousands of lives they had taken. Shame for the blood that ran through her veins and armor she wore on her back. A large lump appeared in her throat.
“I don’t understand. How could Aslan let this happen?” Lucy furrowed her brows. Y/n vaguely remembered hearing stories of Aslan. Something about a great lion…
“Aslan? Thought he abandoned us when you lot did.” The four siblings turned their heads to look at the dwarf who quickly averted his gaze to the rippling water below.
“We didn’t mean to leave you know.” Peter said, and for the first time Y/n sensed humiliation in his tone. Trumpkin turned back around.
“Makes no difference now, does it?” He shrugged, defeated
“Get us to the Narnians… and it will.” Peter set his jaw determinately and began rowing a little faster.
*** Eventually, they reached a gravely beach. Rowing up to the bank, Trumpkin hopped out of the boat and started pulling it ashore with the rope. Lucy stood and followed, continuing down the beach. As Peter clambered out of the boat, he offered his hand to Y/n to help her get out. She stared at him for a moment, baffled, before climbing out herself
“I’m fine, thank you” she snapped, still annoyed at his previous statements about Caspian. They began to help Trumpkin with pulling the boat onto the rocky shore. Him, Peter and Susan using the rope while Edmund and Y/n pushed from either side.
“Hello, there!” Lucy exclaimed from behind them, causing all five to turn their heads. Immediately, Y/n’s blood went cold and her eyes widened. Lucy appeared to be speaking to a massive black bear while slowly making her way towards it. The bear grunted and stood up on two feet, eyeing the small girl.
“It’s alright. We’re friends!” She continued, moving even closer. Y/n looked, alarmed, at the three siblings next to her. None of them seemed very concerned by the situation
“What’s the matter with you three?!” She hissed suddenly
“Don’t move, your majesty” Trumpkin shouted, raising both hands in agitation. Lucy turned to look at him, her face etched with confusion. The bear roared and started to charge towards the tiny brunette, who whipped her head back around and began to run. Immediately the older siblings and Y/n rushed towards the boat to grab their weapons. Susan turned towards the bear with her bow drawn and shouted
“Stay away from her!” but didn’t release her arrow. Lucy tripped on the end of her dress and fell to the ground, mere feet away from the huge creature.
“Shoot, Susan, Shoot!” Edmund cried
The bear raised on its hind legs over Lucy as she shrieked in terror-
Thunk
An arrow found its way into the bear’s chest. It groaned in pain and collapsed next to Lucy. Y/n stood next to the boat; her crossbow, stolen from the Telmarine guards, drawn. Susan turned to look at her, an arrow still lodged in the string of her bow. Y/n lowered the weapon and started towards the small girls still sitting on the ground.
“Why wouldn’t he stop?” Susan questioned, lowering her bow as well
“I suspect he was hungry” Trumpkin huffed, also moving towards Lucy and the bears limp body. Peter and Edmund followed, Peter quickly picking their younger sister up and holding her close to his chest. She looked at Y/n and smiled briefly
“Thanks”
“No problem” Y/n nodded in response, smiling softly back.
Trumpkin made his way towards the body, examining it closely and prodding parts of it with his knife
“He was wild.” Edmund puzzled, looking to his brother
“I don’t think he could talk at all” murmured Peter
“Get treated like a dumb animal long enough, that’s what you become” Trumpkin declared matter-of-factly, “You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember.”
He moved to slit his knife into the bears body, making Lucy turn into her brothers chest with a sob.

Update!!!
Hey everyone! I promise I’m not dead. As everyone knows 2020 has been literal ~insanity~ and as a result it’s been really hard for me to find time to continue writing. I truly apologize for that. I’m seriously shook at how much support I’ve been getting on my Telmeraine Warrior series, I literally can’t thank you all enough. I PROMISE it will continue, I’m just not sure when. Again, thank you all for the support and patience, I will try to get another chapter out by the end of the year but the holidays are crazy so we’ll see :)
Love,
A fellow Narnian

What sucks about the Chronicles of Narnia fandom is how small it is. And I'm not talking about how many fans there are, I'm talking about the material in general. There's not enough! I'm starved for more. With LOTR you have these massive books that were turned into a day's worth of movies along with textbooks, and papers, and fairytales and there's just so MUCH. It takes a long time to seep yourself with the lore because of how much there is. It's beautiful. Meanwhile, Narnia has a handful of tiny books that weren't even turned into a complete movie saga, and that's it. You could read the whole series and watch all the movies in a day and then what? It's such a beautiful world, but our window in is so small! And so restricted to just the Pevensies as kids. With every other series, I can drink my fill of content when I'm thirsty, but there's never enough of Narnia. My throat is always dry and that's a darn shame.

i saw u were doing requests so i logged in (just for this) how about a fic where the pevensies go on a trip to a beach & edmund wants to spend some time with his girl but everyone keeps getting in the way of it lol (if u do end up doing this, cant wait to see how it turns out!)
Beach Day (Edmund Pevensie x reader)
A/N: here’s a little short story for you to make up for my like month of absence lol :)
Ship: Edmund Pevensie x female!reader (btw please tell me if you ever want ships with non-female readers, I’m always open to)
Warnings: fluff, annoying siblings, v cheesy,
It was a beautifully sunny day and Susan suggested they go to the beach to “get some fresh air”. Edmund initially rolled his eyes at the notion but agreed once he saw how excited (y/n) was and decided it was the perfect opportunity to surprise her. They packed up their things and started down to the coast. A hand slipped into (y/n)’s and she smiled, turning to look into the loving brown eyes of her boyfriend,
“you know” he said, moving to walk in sync with her “I was hoping we could maybe find some alone time today…” he winked, eliciting a scoff from (y/n),
“Edmund Pevensie, ever the romantic” she remarked sarcastically
“I’m serious!” He stated, dropping the attitude “We never get to have time together anymore”
He was right. Ever since she’d moved into the Pevensie’s beach house with them for the summer, there had seemed to be a sibling or parent around every corner. Of course, she loved spending time with his siblings, but snuggling or watching a movie with Edmund was undoubtedly better.
“I even packed an extra picnic blanket and snacks just for us”
“Wow you’re really committed!” she joked, bumping her shoulder into his. Really, she was quite touched by his effort
“alright we can ignore your siblings for the entire afternoon and just sneak off together, is that what you want?”
“Perfect.”
She laughed and Edmund looked down at the beautiful girl at his side, admiring her features and smiling softly. She turned, noticing his stare and raised an eyebrow. Before she could make a snarky comment, Lucy slowed down and fell in stride with them, grabbing (y/n) arm
“(y/n) you’ve got to come see this!”
Edmund rolled his eyes and (y/n) giggled at his annoyance, allowing the slightly younger girl to pull her away from him
***
As they reached the beach Lucy immediately ran to the water and splashed Peter. He protested but splashed her back, causing Lucy to shriek with laughter. Susan shook her head and lay down a blanket, pulling her book out of her bag
“C’mon let’s go” Edmund whispered, pulling (y/n) behind an outcrop of rocks nearby. There he pulled a small picnic blanket out of his bag as well as some bags of chips, 2 sandwiches and 2 apples. (Y/n) watched him unpacking the food and couldn’t help but smile realizing how much she loved him
“take a picture it’ll last longer” he smirked, interrupting her thoughts
“says you!” she shot back, lowering herself to the ground beside him and grabbing a sandwich.
“I couldn’t possibly know what you mean Miss (l/n)” he put his hand to his chest, feigning innocence.
“you know exactly what I mean Mister Pevensie” she retorted, leaning in close to his face. She felt his arm slither around her waist and pull her closer
“How could I not stare at the prettiest girl in the world?” this caused a bright blush to spread across her face and she looked down with embarrassment. A hand to her chin brought their faces even closer so now she could count each freckle on his nose. She stared lovingly into his dark eyes, then allowed her gaze to flicker down to his lips. He grinned and started to lean in. (Y/n) closed her eyes
“Edmund!” a shout came from behind the outcrop, startling them both. (Y/n) whipped her head around as Peter came around the rock
“there you two are! We were worried” he scolded; his eyebrows furrowed. He took a closer look at the scene and a curious smirk spread across his face “what were you two doing?”
Edmund rolled his eyes “Christ Peter we’re not 12 can you bugger off?!”
“Alright, alright” Peter raised his hands defensively “Just don’t do anything mum wouldn’t like” he winked and barely dodged the apple Edmund threw at his head “also Susan is wondering where you’ve been so I wouldn’t stay here much longer” he said before he turned and walked away. Edmund groaned and put his face in his hands
“could my family be anymore annoying?” (y/n) scooted closer to him, their shoulder brushing
“I wouldn’t call it annoying…more…observant” she turned her head and grinned at him, he turned his head too and once again they were inches apart.
“so, where were we?” Edmund asked hopefully.
“hm…” (y/n) looked up thoughtfully “can’t remember”
“You’re such a tease” he scoffed, cupping her face and giving her a long sweet kiss. It felt like fireworks. (Y/n) would have happily stayed like that forever if Susan hadn’t started calling their names. Edmund pulled away with a huff. (Y/n) smiled sweetly at him, squeezing his arm
“don’t worry about it Ed, we’ve got the whole summer to have picnics” he fidgeted with his hands in his lap
“But I wanted today to be perfect…” (y/n) moved her hands down to his and brought them to her lips, kissing them softly and looking back into his eyes
“Any day with you is perfect”

Telmeraine Warrior Pt. 3
Part 1 Part 2
Ship: (eventual) Peter Pevensie x reader
Warnings: very minor swearing like once
A/N: hope you enjoy!
-
The boat ride was quite calming despite the looming thought of her death. Y/n lay silently on the floor of the boat, staring straight ahead trying to formulate some kind of plan. She HAD to find Caspian again and she for sure wasn’t going to let these soldiers kill her so easily. They had stripped her of all her weapons at the castle, but had made the executive decision to not remove her armor, concluding that it would “just let her sink faster”
How kind
She was snapped out of her thoughts when the soldier rowing the boat spoke
“He won’t stop staring”
Y/n glanced to the dwarf at her side, he was once again staring intently, straight into the eyes of the nervous solider.
“So don’t look” the other solider holding a crossbow said. Y/n smirked through her gag, humored by their uneasiness. She didn’t find him odd, or frightening in the least. Her first encounter had been shocking, but she had always found the idea of Narnians fascinating.
The professor had secretly taught her and Caspian about Narnia in their youth, sneaking into the library at night and reading them stories of the Golden Age. She wasn’t of royal blood and didn’t feel important in the least, but the Professor insisted she should learn, and she didn’t object. For many years she dreamt of dancing with fauns in the forests, but had never fathomed actually leaving Telmar until the death of King Caspian IX. After that her suspensions of Miraz only grew and she knew she must protect Caspian no matter what that meant.
“Here’s far enough” the guard growled and reached for the dwarf
“Wait!” The other snapped, his hand reaching out to stop his friend “lets deal with her first. She may cause trouble.”
Y/n was suddenly brought to the reality that she had no plan. Both men grabbed either side of her and stood. Her heart beat rapidly and she looked around frantically for something, ANYTHING
Thunk
A red feathered arrow quivered as it hit the side of the boat.
Both Telmerains looked down at it and y/n seized the opportunity at hand. She twisted her body violently to the side, causing the two men to yell in pain as their wrists bent the wrong way. They dropped her and she fell hard back into the boat. One of them aimed his crossbow at the beach but another arrow lodged itself in his chest and he fell back into the water. The other grabbed the dwarf and hauled him towards the edge of the boat
“Drop him!” A voice rang out over the water and the soldier complied, tossing the small figure into the water before a third arrow found its way into his body.
The boat tipped violently as the man fell and y/n rolled into the water, barely having enough time to take a breath. Despite her bound wrists and ankles she managed to propel herself forward somewhat, looking around frantically for the dwarf. She spotted him sinking and tried to push forward but before she could react a strong pair of arms wrapped around her and pulled her towards the surface. Her lungs were screaming for air but she still desperately kicked against her savior in an attempt to reach her companion. Her head broke the surface and she gasped for air, the gag making it considerably harder. She blinked a couple times and noticed to her relief that the dwarf was being pulled to shore by a dark haired boy.
When they reached the sand, a small girl ran up and used a dagger to slice through the rope on their wrists. Y/n ripped the gag from her mouth and violently coughed up water. Taking a few more gasping breaths before reaching to untie her legs. She stood wobbly, massaging her wrists and observed the people in front of her.
Two boys, one blonde and one dark brunette stood tall to her right, swords at their sides and sopping wet. The blonde one must have saved her. A brunette girl about her age stood next to them, a bow in her hand and red feathered arrows on her back. Finally, to her right stood the smaller brunette girl who had cut her bonds, holding a shining dagger. They all stared curiously at her and the dwarf
“Drop him?!” The dwarf suddenly spat, throwing his bonds to the ground “that’s the best you could come up with?”
The girl with the bow scoffed
“A simple ‘thank you’ would suffice” she responded
“They would have drowned us just fine without your help”
“Maybe we should have let them” the blonde said, his brow furrowed. Y/n couldn’t shake from her mind that she had seen these people before somewhere..
“Why were they trying to kill you anyway?” The youngest girl asked
“They’re Telmerains. That’s what they do.” The dwarf hissed. Y/n frowned but did not object. He was right after all.
“And why would they kill one of their own?” The dark haired boy asked suspiciously, looking her armor up and down. Y/n noticed that they were all gripping their weapons a little tighter than before.
“I don’t think they would call me one of their own anymore.” She said coldly, then nodded to the dwarf at her side “I’m with him, not the Telmerains.”
“I don’t really get it either” said the dwarf “but she’s definitely not with them now”
“Since when are there Telmerains in Narnia?” The dark haired boy continued
“Where have you been the last few hundred years..”
“..it’s a bit of a long story” the youngest girl giggled, and something caught y/n’s memory. She glanced at the sword at the blondes side, noticing the details on the hilt. A golden lions head, mouth wide in a roar.
Where had she seen that lion-…that’s when it finally dawned on her.
Y/n had seen these people before. Only, in history books.
“The..King’s and Queen’s of Old…” she said doubtfully, squinting at them. The dwarf looked at her and then back at the four siblings
“Oh you’ve got to be kidding me...” he muttered “you’re it? You’re the Kings and Queens of Old?”
“It’s impossible” Y/n breathed, trying hard to wrap her head around this.
The blonde stepped forward and put his hand out
“High King Peter. The Magnificent” y/n raised her eyebrows
“Probably could have left off the last bit” the brunette, who y/n supposed was Queen Susan said
“Probably” y/n smiled. Peter clenched his jaw and pulled his sword from its sheath
“You’d be surprised”
She let out a short laugh
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you” she responded, crossing her arms.
“Not me” he gestured to his brother “him” and turned the sword hilt towards her. She eyed him suspiciously, still doubtful, but took the sword anyway turning to face the younger boy. His sword was definitely different from what she was used to; heavier and longer than her own. But she was determined to show these people that she wasn’t a joke. Edmund’s eyes gleamed with confidence and grip on his sword almost seemed lazy. Y/n clenched her jaw and swung her sword fast towards his legs. He seemed surprised for a moment, but blocked it and countered easily. She spun away from his attack and once again swiped at his feet. He jumped over the blade, and jabbed at her side, just brushing her hip Their swords clanged again and again, both fighters expertly blocking every attack. The disturbed sand beneath their feet flying in the air to create a cloud around them. Y/n was growing tired, not used to her weapon. But her determination and stubbornness refused to let her give in. She attacked violently, a new surge of adrenaline pushing her forward. Edmund didn’t seem to expect it and stumbled for a second
“Edmund!” Lucy yelled, moving forward, but Peter held her in place. Edmund regained his balanced quickly, and their swords locked. Y/n tried to use one of her feet to wrap around Edmunds ankle and make him trip, a trick she had used countless times before to win fights. This time however, another factor was in play. The weight of Peters sword in her hand caused her to lose balance instead, and Edmund seized the opportunity. He used his sword to push against her, causing her to fall and then twisted his blade to force hers out of her hand. She dropped it, and looked up at him in shock, breathing heavy.
Maybe these really were the Kings and Queens after all…
Edmund reached out his hand, and she took it reluctantly, allowing him to pull her to her feet.
“You’re very good” he smiled reassuringly, but her cheeks still burned in shame.
“It was that damn sword” she muttered
“Beards and Bedsteads” the dwarf exclaimed to her right “maybe that horn worked after all…”
All eyes turned to him.
“What horn?” Susan asked

Telmeraine Warrior Pt. 2
Part 1
Ship: (eventual) Peter Pevensie x Reader
Warnings: none?
A/N: sorry it took so long guys :) I am already writing part 3 so it will be up sooner. Hope you like it!
-
Y/n woke with a start. Immediately the familiar smells of the Telmeraine stables filled her nose and panic washed over her like a wave. They had been caught. She tried to move but her wrists and ankles were bound and her body draped ungracefully over the back of a horse. A gag was wrapped tightly around her mouth and a scratchy blanket covered her body, restricting her vision to only the ground below her head. Suddenly she heard the large door of the stable creak open and the familiar heavy footfalls of Miraz approaching. Quickly she slumped limply against the horses hide, not wanting him to know she was conscious.
“Wait. Wait, my Lord” the voice of Glozelle suddenly exclaimed “It is not what you think”
“Then what is it” Miraz spat
“One we are not exactly sure. The other…” he trailed off. Y/n’s heart beat so loudly she was sure they could hear it. She knew she was stronger than Miraz and his men. But greatly outnumbered and with a pounding headache she wasn’t sure she could put up much of a fight. She heard Miraz moving to her left and a blanket dropped to the floor. He breathed in sharply and his shoes appeared in her field of vision as he moved closer.
“Impossible” he breathed, and before y/n could process what he meant, ripped the blanket off of her too. She closed her eyes, praying that he hadn’t noticed. Another sigh left his lips. After a few moments of silence he turned on his heel and moved away
“Wake them up and bring them to me” his voice echoed through the room “the council must know what has become of their precious prince”. Y/n heard the door slam and let out a breath she didn’t even know she was holding. Abruptly someone pulled her from the horse and threw her to the ground, knocking the wind from her chest. Her eyes flew open and she made eye contact with Glozelle as he untied her ankles. His gaze was steely, cold and almost malicious, as if he was glad to see her like this. She glared back, unafraid of the man she had often bested in combat. He yanked her to her feet, finally allowing her to see her fellow prisoner. The light haired dwarf had a large gash on his forehead and was similarly bound and gagged. They made fleeting eye contact before they were forced to march. Y/n almost laughed at the guards attempts to guide her in the right direction. She knew exactly where they were going. As they reached the closed door of the council room, she could hear snippets of the conversation inside
“Death of Caspian the Ninth- behaved as if you were king…”
“…Prince Caspian…missing..”
“Losing your nephew…rightful heir to the throne”
“…Night your wife has blessed you with a son”
Glozelle pushed open the door and stepped inside, allowing y/n to catch a glimpse of the scene inside and hear Lord Sopespian’s voice,
“…you can tell us how such a tragedy could have occurred?”
She watched Miraz push from his seat and walk across the room
“That is the most disturbing news of all…” he started, glancing at all the Lords before turning to look at the throne “our beloved Caspian…with the help of one of our own..was abducted”
the council murmured anxiously and Miraz turned to face them again.
“By Narnians” he exclaimed, earning scoffs and laughter
“You go to far Miraz!” one lord shouted “you expect us to stand by while you blame such blatant crimes on fairy tales? And to say we have been betrayed?”
Miraz raised his arms, gesturing to Glozelle who turned and pulled open the door fully, allowing the guards to push y/n and the dwarf into the room. The Lords jumped from their seats, gasping and staring wide eyed at the dwarf. A few studied y/n, arguing with their neighbors and pointing accusingly.
“You forget my Lord’s that Narnia was once a savage land” Miraz began, pacing back and forth. “Fierce creatures roamed free. Much of our forefathers blood was shed to exterminate” he moved close to the dwarf “this vermin” he moved back and looked down at the dwarf with disgust
“Or so we thought.” He said “but while we’ve been bickering amongst ourselves, they have been breeding like cockroaches under a rock! Growing stronger. Watching us. Waiting to STRIKE” he shouted, and slapped the dwarf hard across the face, knocking his gag to his chin. The dwarf slowly looked back up at him and muttered
“And you wonder why we don’t like you”
y/n’s blood boiled and she struggled hard against her bonds, glaring at Miraz. He turned to her and stared back, his cold dark eyes shining malevolently
“And this!” He gestured at the young girl “as I have said we have a traitor in our midst” the council once again started murmuring “One of our own royal guard” Miraz spat, moving closer to her “The Captain. Has helped these creatures in seizing our Prince” he grabbed her face and pulled it close to his
“Well I intent to strike back” his hot breath flooded over her face, causing a shiver to run down her back. He let go of her face, dropping her to the ground. “Even if I have to cut down the entire forest. I assure you, I will find Prince Caspian and finish what our ancestors began”
Y/n sat back on her knees, weak from the struggle and her ever throbbing headache. She turned her head to glance at the dwarf who stared intently at Miraz, anger etched into his features. Miraz motioned for the two of them to be picked up and then looked to Glozelle
“Take them away. You know what to do”

Telmeraine Warrior Pt. 1
Requests:
-okaayy I have an idea! What about y/n being best friends with caspian and she’s a great fighter too so she helps him escape from miraz’s castle and when they meet pevensies she kinda likes Peter but chooses to just focus on her mission but also still talks to Peter sometimes and when caspian and Peter argue she can’t help throwing herself in the middle and caspian is like??? And kinda jealous IDK just an idea, you get the point
-I was wondering if you'd maybe like to do a Peter Pevensie fic where, thanks to Caspian, he and his siblings meet this woman, a strong and fierce soldier of the Telmarine army, and he slowly starts to fall for her?
Ship: (eventual) Peter Pevensie x reader
Warnings: none this round I think :)
A/N: sorry if this first chapter is so short, I just wanted to get it out :). Also wanted to make it one post but (after weeks of struggling) decided that a series would work better. Hope you enjoy!
-
“Caspian!”
His eyes flew open and his hand moved to grab at the figure standing over him. A hand firmly caught his wrist and as the moon flooded through the windows, he recognized the silhouette of y/n.
“Oh-“
He started, but a finger to her lips silenced him.
“We haven’t got much time.” She whispered, ripping away the blankets and pulling him to a standing position. The sudden motion caused Caspian to stumble and almost fall
“Y/n wha-“
“Your aunt has just given birth” she pushed a set of armor into his hands and flung a bag over her shoulder “to a son”
His heart dropped. She was right, he didn’t have much time. Blinking out of his stupor, he clumsily started to pull on the armor, suddenly much less tired
“What are you doing?” He asked “you’re the head of the royal guard, saving me isn’t exactly being loyal to my uncle”. The sound of nearing footsteps echoed in their ears and y/n turned to the cupboard in the corner of the room, wrenching it open and pushing aside the coats to reveal a secret passageway.
“Come” she commanded, and with one last glance, Caspian followed; closing the door behind him.
Hurriedly they raced down the stairs and pushed open another door to find the professor waiting with a horse
“Professor” Caspian breathed rushing over to him
“Hurry Caspian it won’t be long before they realize you’re missing” the old man responded, grabbing the young Prince’s hands in his and looking into his eyes “you must get as far away as you can my boy. You are our last hope” he pulled a small white horn out of his cloak and handed it to Caspian “use this to call for aid when you need it”
“We have to go” y/n said, swinging herself on to the horse and reaching a hand out for Caspian
“We?”
“Yes we, did you really think I was going to let you go alone?” she retorted, smirking jokingly. He tried to protest but distant shouts of alarm spurred him to grab her hand and pull himself up in front of her. He turned to the Professor one last time “will I ever see you again”
“Perhaps. Now go!” He slapped the horses hide and they were off
Wind whipped through their hair as Caspian and y/n burst out onto the bridge. Not soon after a band of Telmeraine soldiers appeared behind them. A sudden explosion of fireworks from the castle caused both the young fugitives to jump and look back at what they once called home.
Their horse galloped on, carrying them across a great field and towards the forest; the pack of Telmerains slowly gaining. Y/n pulled her crossbow from her back, twisted her body around and aimed, hitting a soldier in the chest and knocking him from his steed. She shot again and again, thinning the crowd of pursuers but soon realizing she couldn’t waste all her shots when their journey had just begun.
She turned back around just in time to see the last glimpse of clear sky before the canopy of the forest covered them. Her heart beat began to return to normal, feeling oddly relaxed in the forest they’d grown up learning to fear. Caspian looked back to scan for Telmerains and before y/n could open her mouth, his head collided with a fallen tree. She ducked, but the weight of his body pulled them both off the horse and onto the ground, knocking the air out of her lungs.
He groaned, rolling over and pulling himself to a sitting position
“well that didn’t go as planned” she smiled grimly, also pulling herself up
“Not exactly”
Suddenly, out the roots of a large tree came 2 very peculiar looking little men. Y/n gasped. She had read about Narnians of course and was fascinated by their history but she had never met one in real life.
“They’ve seen us” one of them growled, and the other started towards them with a knife the size of his arm. As quick as a flash y/n’s sword was out and pointed at the, what she assumed was, dwarf.
“Don’t. Touch him.” She glowered, her e/c eyes gleaming “we have no intention of-“ before she could finish the thundering of hooves grabbed their attention and the Telmeraine soldiers appeared between the trees
The dwarf with the knife glanced back at Caspian and then to the horn at his side
“Deal with them” he said to his friend, and started towards the oncoming riders. Doubting his ability to defeat 12 or so armored riders alone, y/n clenched her jaw and scrambled after him, hoping that Caspian could stand his guard. The dwarf jumped, slicing his knife into a Telmeraine’s leg and spinning quickly to defend against another. Y/n followed suit, skillfully twisting her sword to deflect attacks and knock riders from their steeds. She spun gracefully, easily anticipating their attacks considering she had been the one to train them. As she moved to strike down the last few soldiers, the piercing blow of a horn split through the forest and broke her focus. She whipped her head around just in time to see Caspian fall to the ground, the white horn in his hand.
No..
In that split second of distraction, she didn’t notice the horse come up to her side. Before she could look up, a sharp pain shot through her skull and everything went black.
