I don't think about Harry Potter all that much these days but sometimes I just randomly remember that these kids were writing on parchment. Like I know they have an aesthetic but WHY are these children writing their essays on ANIMAL SKINS in this day and age. It just isn't practical. At least go with old-timey paper or something.

Note
Dear Mr Gaiman,
You produce great literature from a wide variety of perspectives. I'm curious how you manage to really get into people's shoes and write about something you've never experienced before, experienced by someone who you will never/can never be?
I hope this isn't a very loaded question, I'm just very curious. Many authors write what they know and say "Write what you know" which I find to be sensible advice, but writing what you DON'T know also often produces great results but seems to be a bit trickier.
Best,
Vik
You ask questions and talk to people, research and imagine.
"Write what you know" isn't "Only write what you already know".

Hello everyone and anyone who follows me and miraculously reads my posts. First of all, thank you for doing so, I appreciate it even though I might not interact or post much. I just wanted to let you know that I will be moving this blog to a different account, there are some major changes coming to my life soon so I figured I should organize my everything as much as possible ASAP. This includes my blog, so this account will be undergoing maintenance and I will reappear with a different account most likely, but it’ll still be me.
I think that’s all. I’ll see you all later ^-^

I personally love sleep mode!
Moodpath | free
[mental health]
It’s a mental health diary but without the excessive writing and the nagging feeling of guilt when you don’t have the time to update it. It helps you to reflect and get information. What I absolutely love about it: you don’t have to write. If you don’t want to at least. They will ask you daily questions about your emotional and physical well-being, that way you’ll get a bi-weekly mental health assessment. You can learn effective methods and techniques + have a reference of your emotional state which you can share with mental health professionals.

FUCK CAPITALISM! This didn’t cost tax payers anything. You don’t need to be a governing body with a police force to do decent things.

HELP WANTED: Staff members for a new Writeblr Community Project!
Hey Writeblr, Undine here with a brand new community project!
The goals of this community project are to create an active directory of all Writeblrs and WIPs to the best of our ability, and to build/maintain a sideblog where people can go to discover new writers and WIPs.
I have a plan in place for this project, but it is at the point where I need other people’s opinions and assistance because I’ve only had myself to talk to, and my head has become an echo chamber for my own ideas.
I am currently looking for a small team of 3-5 people to help discuss and shape this idea into a reality. It is very barebones right now, so I am looking for people to help me refine this idea, build the sideblog for this project, and run it together when it is ready to be released to the community.
This will be a very flexible position with no set roles as of now since it is only in its beginning stages. I’m mostly looking for friends that would like to assist me and talk with me about this new endeavor!
Are you an active writeblr? Do you want to help make the community a better place? Do you want to meet a group of awesome writeblrs and work with them?
COME APPLY HERE!
Applications will be open for the time being!
I would love and appreciate a boost!

Hey psychology studyblrs!
I’m currently in high school, but I’m considering taking psychology in university. I’m also doing an online psychology course, and I’m planning to major in biology and chemistry (my school allows us to specialize in at least 2 sciences. I’m considering doing history or economics too to leave my options open, but bio and chem are the two that I’m sure of.)
If anyone could share some advice about taking psychology and what I can do to prepare for the course, it would be very helpful!! Thank you!!
P.S. It would be really great if y’all reblogged this so that it reaches some psych studyblrs faster <3

Toni Morrison, a Nobel Laurete, an icon of the literary world, and an elder in the womanisn movement has died at the age of 88. Born Chloe Ardelia Wofford, Morrison was an unfailing leader in the push for Black women narratives and wrote such classics as Song of Solomon, Sula, and Beloved, the latter of which earned her a Pulitzer Prize. Much can be said about the transformative power of her works, but I’d rather leave you with her own words right now:
“You can’t fly with regrets of yesterdays on your wings.
You can’t fly if you’re still in love with that ex that’s bad for you. Give that shit up!
You can’t fly if you’re afraid of standing up and taking power. Give that shit up!
You can’t fly if you’re spending the time you should be using to fly on other less important things. Give that shit up!
Focus on flying, if you wanna to fly. Because if you really wanna fly, nothing should be able to stop you. And if you’re not flying, realize something is. And lose that shit!”
Rest in Power, Toni Morrison. Thank you for the gift of your words and the beauty of your life.

This needs to be said.
I believe it is important to address the other side of studyblr; we all talk about how important mental health is, and should be, in this community. But what we don’t talk about enough is the fact that it’s more clique than anything. By which I mean that certain studyblrs are so big they can seem unreachable; and that can be factored into another issue, the desire to have enough likes and reblogs; we have to have the perfect notes, or there won’t be any other type of notes, if you catch my drift. It’s stigmatic, it’s unfair; some small blogs rely on reblogs from bigger blogs, some rely on posting consistently (or constantly), but the fact remains.
We must change the aesthetic, once and for all, to include the smaller blogs, the dark blogs, the ones that aren’t as actively; it’s a community, not a clique of who has the most stationary or the most followers. Those who have the certain notes that are so admired are wonderful; but not all of us have that time to put into it, and we work just as hard at our academics, at becoming the person we would like to be, as they do.
Studyblr community, love yourselves, even if you don’t have the notes; or the followers. There’s no use beating yourself up about it. We can’t all be big, but what we can do is be proud of our own accomplishments and how we strive towards our own goals. Who cares if your notes don’t get that many reblogs? You made it, and you worked hard on it, and that should be enough.
