one thing I love about the Chim/Buck/Maddie early dynamic is that Buck really could have been like, "NO! I'm insulating my sister from the outside world because I missed her and she's been through a lot and it's my time with her and I don't like to share" but it shows how highly he thinks of the 118 and the trust he has in them, particularly Chimney, that he was like an overexcited kid at school being like, "hey this is MY sister and Maddie, these are MY FRIENDS" and he just...folded her in. So many forms of media that have a sibling relationship in it go the path of being like "MY SISTER?!?!? HOW DARE YOU?!?!?" But Buck was kind of chill about them getting together beyond feeling annoyed when he thought he was being lied to and being annoying little brother teasing about Maddie wanting to date him. It also shows the trust and respect that Buck has for Maddie. He feels secure enough in both of these relationships to not be like "no you cannot date, because I don't want to pick sides if it goes wrong". I don't know it's just a fun little early show in how the found friends became the found family.
