AAAAAAAAAAH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! i'm so pissed that neoboard messages auto-delete after a certain number of days because a garland-themed christmas intesteen was MY suggestion on the December Pet Day Suggestions thread and i have no proof of this. it's everything i could have hoped for!!!
i am hoping that it's a glitch that it's unpaintable right now, because my christmas lupe has a 19 year old intesteen attached to it and i will lose my mind if i get my dream petpet added to the site and have to sacrifice my aged intesteen to have it

i made my first 3d print probably 10 years ago and i managed to make it this far without ever properly finishing a print. always just broke the supports off and called it a day. sometimes i dabbed acetone on places where snapping the supports turned the PLA white. it never mattered for what i was doing.
i just earnestly tried actually smoothing a print for the first time with a soldering iron and sanding and holy shit it's not worth it. i will never do this again. i have historically been judgy of people who sell 3d prints with support marks and layer lines but i take it all back. absolutely fuck this nonsense. from now on i'm taking the attitude that layer lines are intrinsic to the medium.
#that being said if you are going to make a mold from a 3d print of a low-poly bulbasaur model you downloaded off thingiverse#and then make and sell dozens of concrete planters from that mold#you should sand the layer lines off that print#it's low poly you're sanding flat planes it's not that hard

i have all these OCs and they’re just maladaptive daydreaming fodder - i have no desire to make any publishable media out of them because i love being free of the burden of nuance. things can be bad and problematic and everyone can be a mary sue and it doesn’t matter because they’re just for my personal amusement.
but i have the problem that all my current OCs originate from dream i had a few years ago about these characters in a universe where some people can shapeshift into animals. but as things have spun out and i think more about the other people in their universe like their friends and their friends’ friends and so on i am really not interested in the fantasy element, but it played enough of a role in key plot points that i can’t write it out completely.
so i have these stories of like healing from trauma and learning to have functional interpersonal relationships and embarking on interesting careers but also there’s some guy there who can turn into a horse. that’s not important right now. it doesn’t come up at all. just ignore it, it’s fine, that’s normal here.
#even when i did like the shapeshifting stuff i have the issue of like overthinking stuff#like ok what happens to your clothes#let’s go with Harry Potter animagus style shape shifting and say you keep your clothes#ok but what happens to the stuff in your pockets?#how does it affect airport security if some people can shapeshift into mice or other highly mobile creatures#if you’re a shapeshifter and you’re pregnant what is the fetus doing if you shapeshift#(this wasn’t even the nuance that made me never want to release these characters into the world!)#(i was more like hmm it’s fun for me to just have this guy have a virtually unlimited amount of money#but in the real world being a billionaire is unethical but i am just going to pretend that somehow in this world it isn’t)
