Not another drinking and driving post.

It's not secret that alcohol is a prevalent factor in any twenty something's life. While alchy can be the life of the party it can also be the start of something that should never be unleashed. As of today I have had two people in my life lose their life to drinking and driving. One was a passenger while the driver was drunk; he's been gone for two years now. One was the driver who was heading home from a night at the bars; she hit a car and killed one, injured another. It really is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. I remember when Joseph passed away it sent everyone into a major reality check. Many of us including myself has made irresponsible decisions while intoxicated, however luckily no permanent damage has been done. Losing a loved one really puts it into perspective of how quickly it can all change. Becky, you're in my prayers tonight. You've been in my life for a short time, but I know a good heart when I see one.

I think holding hands is a vital element to every successful relationship, but far too often couples concentrate on just sexual expression when trying to come up with romantic ideas to introduce more physicality that they forget about the important things. The successful couples know the importance of incorporating simple, frequent and random acts of touching throughout their day. A quick hug, a kiss on the cheek, and holding your lover’s hand are all extremely important parts of adding old-fashioned romance to your relationship. The very best romantic ideas are the simplest ones, and you can’t get much simpler and meaningful than just holding each others hands.

Holding hands with your boyfriend, girlfriend is cute to me, and the fact that you can do it anyplace and at any time is even better. It’s profoundly powerful in showing your lover how much they mean to you, and is a tasteful way to be physical in public without seeming too clingy you know what I mean? Few issues inspire more smiles from a young couple in love than seeing an elderly husband and wife holding hands during a walk in the park. “That’s going to be us someday,” they say with a grin. But if you’re really serious about introducing romance into your lives, why can’t that be you today right? but unfortunately, hand-holding has become less and less common in a world that emphasizes individuality and self-reliance in relationships.

Some people might think that if they are seen holding hands with their significant other, they might be looked at as too sappy or dependent. While it’s true that some people might make that judgment, why in the world would you let anyone else decide whether or not you should add more romantic touching to your relationship? Holding hands to me on a regular basis will make you more comfortable with each other, soothe your mood during stressful times, and is a great way to show the world how proud you are to be with your special someone. If you want the best out of your relationship, pay attention to the very small things. ♥
