O: Thank you, thank you, it was much needed.
O: Oof yeah no, we don't go more than a year younger, they're just not worth the time it takes to raise them.
C: plus, men are far more immature than women
C: he could physically be 19 but have the emotional capacity of a 14 year old

“The Caledonia,” Cecelia said simply with a shrug of her shoulders. “And not by choice. My parents lose their minds when they see me walk in with a cup that doesn’t have our family’s hotel logo on it, so I’m forced to suffer and drink the bean juice that comes from our restaurant. It’s not terrible, but all it really is is black coffee. Sorry if that doesn’t help.”
“My usual coffee shop was closed today. Apparently they ran out of coffee beans. How does a coffee shop run out of coffee beans? It seems that whoever was in charge of ordering them has been neglecting to do so for a while.” Damien said, letting out a small sigh. “Anyway, where do you get your coffee? I need some suggestions.”

💀,💐 ,🎹
💀 - What are they afraid of?
Fast cars, spiders and the Caledonia basement. Cecelia swears it’s haunted after seeing a door open on it’s own, but everyone at the hotel swears it was just a prank. Better safe than sorry.
💐 - Favorite type of flower
Peonies. Cecelia and her mother planted them in their garden when she was a child and they bloom every spring. She especially likes the coral ones.
🎹 - Do they play any instruments?
Little known fact, but Cece has played violin since she was a child. She wishes she’d gotten into Piano or Guitar instead fo the sole reason that it’s almost impossible to sing along with a violin.

“Doesn’t sound like I’ve missed a whole lot and while mimosas are nice, being over priced definitely tipped them into the not great category.”Lucas nodded along picturing what he had seen of their local country club. In this moment, he was thinking more about the topic than he had for almost his whole life. At some point, his father had gifted his mother a Gucci bag, maybe, an anniversary, but when the handle ripped of a year into her owning it, it became clear that it had just been a fake. “Are you trying to tell me that you haven’t grown since you were seven? All these stories are getting harder and harder to believe,” he replied, his broad grin giving away that he was just joking.
“Would you be among those people,” he replied easily. Looking at her, he wasn’t sure if she was blushing or if she was just flush from the alcohol. “I’m sorry,” he said leaning in closer to her,” what was that? I couldn’t hear you over the noise.”
“If I stopped growing when I was 7 I’d be a whopping 4 feet tall. So no, I definitely did not stop growing at 7, but that was the last time I was ever able to call myself tall in comparison. I probably stopped growing when I was 13,” she corrected, though she wasn’t quite sure why they were talking about her height as a child when there could’ve been many more less embarrassing topics to discuss.
“I might be. But I’m just looking out for everyone else in here,” Cecelia quickly covered, looking around at the room full of people. “Most parties end up with someone shirtless, usually someone that’s gotten wicked farmers tan in the last few days and is itching to show it off. So I figured, why not spare the residents of Peach Hollows from that horror and have you be tonight’s honorary shirtless hero. I’m just looking out for everyone else.” She hadn’t been drinking much so her rambling couldn’t have been blamed on that. Instead it was fuelled by embarrassment and need to fill the silence. “I said I need another drink,” Cecelia said more clearly, leaning in slightly to prevent further confusion.
She hadn’t when realized the few feet between them had decreased, by Cecelia was now very aware of how close she was standing to the man in front of her. She wasn’t complaining by any means, but her initial instinct was to turn and run in the opposite direction to get away from this situation and his deep eyes looking down at her. “So, bar?” She asked, lips pressing into a nervous smile.

“I must admit, I don’t have much experience with country clubs either. Is it just golf or ?” His face brightened and he laughed, the sound bright and jovial. “I wish someone would and their Oreo milkshake is the only one that matters so how about that.” During the majority of his trips to the Giant Peach, he didn’t even order milkshakes. He was, like 75% of all black people, lactose intolerant. While the Oreo milkshake was delicious, it wasn’t worth the time in the bathroom. Lucas scoffed. “ He was always a heart throb, you’re kidding me. I can’t tease him about that. This is honestly quite disappointing.” He smiled down at her. “I don’t know. I can’t see it.”
“Golf, overpriced mimosas and trophy wives sitting by the pool to standing around the tennis court in their designer outfits,” Cecelia replied simply, shrugging her petite shoulders. Her family had been life-long members of the Club, spending afternoons in the sun, her father and two brothers wasting away on the green and her mother catching up with ‘friends’ in the restaurant. She was the only one in the Pham clan that didn’t adore the lavish environment, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t be found lounging by the pool with a pizza every now and then. “Well you better. When were were 7 I was about half an inch taller than him. After that there was no hope left for me,” she said, smiling up at the man who was significantly taller than she was. Probably also taller than Michael was now.
Cecelia’s eyes dropped down to the stain on his shirt once against and let her fingers touch the damp fabric. “This should come out eventually. But you could just take it off, I don’t think too many people here would mind.” The second the words left her lips, Cece wished she could take them back. She didn’t speak like this - at least not to the individual in question. These comments were restricted to late nights in her back yard with Ava, or housed deep in her mind where nobody else could hear them. She felt her cheeks grow pink and turned her face to look towards the bar, hoping he would do the same. “I need another drink,” she said quietly, mainly to herself. Anything that would help he forget the slip of her tongue.

Sebastian fumbled with his bottom lip, the idea of a face tattoo not settling well. “I’m more of a discrete tattoo man if I were to get one, so I think a dragon face tat may not scream trust me to some passengers..” he frowned knowing it sounded a little stereotypical but he knew that unfortunately people do judge those who held their lives at risk. “Although seeing your smiling face at the crack of dawn sounds promising so don’t tempt me.” he chuckled reaching for something he saw on the shelf and adding it to his bin. Unlikely friends indeed, but something he found joy in he wasn’t he most pleasurable person to talk to, quite the recluse in his own right but he found the girl to be a nice light that came into his life at a seemingly dark time. “He’s doing well, coming to visit soon hopefully. I’m sure he’d be happy to see you you practically made his dream come true. If he sticks around here I’m afraid he may end up with a dragon tattoo on his face to match mine one day.” he joked. “How have you been? Up to anything fun?”
Cecelia couldn’t suppress the laugh that bubbled from his lips a his unexpected compliment. “I’m afraid my first-thing-in-the-morning looks more like the bride of Frankenstein than the Cecelia you’re use to. But nice try.” She started down the isle, eyes dragging across the brightly coloured boxes and packages that adorned the shelves. The online thin on the list had been snacks for her night-in, but snacks turned into a full grocery haul and she now had 2 pounds of ground Turkey waiting to be put in the fridge for tacos later that night. “Is he with his mother then?” She asked curiously, her deep brown eyes widening. “Shit. Sorry - you don’t have to answer that. But I’d be happy to whip out my paints whenever he’s in town again, for the both of you of course.”
She reached for a bag of popcorn and tossed it inter her basket as she mused over his question. “Interesting? No. Unfortunately my life seems to be the complete opposite of yours. While you’re jet-setting off to far-away lands, I’e been wasting away in Peach Place. My neighbours have added two new gnomes to their garden and a branch broke in our yard,” she said almost proudly, lips tugging into a smirk.
“I almost wish the Peacher would come out. You know, just to make things interesting.” Cece knew he was playing with fire wishing for the ominous individual to make their presence known, but her life had been so painfully mundane that sleepless nights were welcomed. “What about you? Judging by your basket it’s either taco night or you just really love salsa.”

☝ + Your first kiss
Cecelia’s first kiss was in middle school. She’d gone to a birthday party at her friends backyard and kissed her middle school boyfriend when the adults went in to grab the food. The kiss lasted 0.04 seconds and his lips were covered in cheeto dust. She doesn’t count it as her first kiss, but it was the first time a boy touched her lips with his own.

“Because I wanted to freely drink and you would already be here by the time I had got out of work. I didn’t want to hold you up. It is a hassle though. My driver today got into a fight with his girlfriend or wife I can’t remember but he has both so it was pretty interesting.” She said with a laugh, shaking her head at the conversation. “Where are we going? To get more drinks?” Ava asked as Cece lead her through the party. Her goal tonight was to loosen her friend up, she obviously didn’t want to get her sloppy but just buzzed enough to have a good time without thinking too hard about it.
“Yes. Why else would we be going to the bar?” She asked, playfully rolling her eyes as she navigated across the karaoke bar towards the bar. The area was littered with individuals flirting, boasting about their singing abilities and ordering drinks that looked more like juice than anything else. Had she been alone, Cecelia wouldn’t have the nerve to brave the crowd alone, but Ava’s company gave her the confidence to push her way up to the front until they were leaning against the hardwood. “You’ve had 0.2 drinks and I’ve had 0.8. If tonight is going to be fun, we need much more. Now, what do you want? It’s on me.”
