Well this ask has been bouncing around my skull for a few days, had to draw lesbians! I think a normal amount about how the lightless flame wax figured their bodies. Takes wax play to an extreme though.

I didn't expect to get a Magnus Archive ask for Jude and Agnes fluff in 2025, and was weak to it! Think I might digifyi this in the future xD so thank you for the ask!

Also it is a travesty that it has taken this long to draw Agnes, our little inferno cult girlie.

from mag 11 - "dreamer" and elias and jon's descriptions in 92 and 160

i don't know if this is anything, but the whole pulsing institute with veins flowing into/out of it really stood out to me as obvious beating heart imagery. and the archives being covered in blood, the blood which flows through the death tendrils, seems to be marking the archives/archivist as the site from which all that death is originating (and then covering and choking all of london) —which is what happens in 160 when jonah uses jon to bring about the apocalypse. could be wrong, but this particular dream feels like it's referencing the deaths the upcoming apocalypse will cause (including oliver's reveal in 168 that everyone and everything will die anyway) —in addition to it being about gertrude's death, because gertrude's death was the immediate catalyst for the entire podcast (allowed elias to confirm his theory re the feasibility of rituals targeting individual fears and then replace her with jon on the same day, that is)

Jon doesn't want to die. he thinks he should die, which is a feeling that's followed him since he was eight. he goes through most seasons with the air of someone who fully believes they're about to take their rightful place in the grave, and he's terrified of it. there are some attempts in s4 where he tries to convince himself that he either wants to die or thinks he shouldn't, but I don't think any of it truly sticks. everything he's lived since he was eight has been with time bought by the death of someone else. and he's going to die, it just hasn't happened yet!

then the apocalypse happens, purely because he just hadn't died yet. he should have, but he didn't!

then he meets Annabelle Cane for the last time and learns that he was, in fact, never meant to die. at least not until he does everything the web planned for him.

One of my favorite jonelias Things™️ is when all the yk, big avatars refer to them as "your archivist" or sometimes even "your elias." That shit makes me eat nails. I need everyone to know they have something going on and it to be something that they know they should absolutely not get involved in because there is no way it ends well. I think they should be intertwined in a way that isn't quite human. I think they need to be so weird about each other nobody who knows Elias has any doubts about what's going on. I just think it's neat!
