ccxryuji:
“i can promise you that hacker card was not my first guess, but i knew you were a card hat was technology related. more convenient than a sword card,” ryuji shrugged, knowing very well that a hero would probably pick the other over him. though ryuji was probably a bit more useful in battle, but the things the kid could do was probably was unimaginable to ryuji. who knows what the kid could do or knows. ryuji just had one speciality.
though he convinced sombra is not a human name, but what is ryuji to judge. cards weren’t human. ryuji was the name given to him by his former captor in his past life and it just stuck in this one. sombra sounded cool though. he wanted a cool nickname. he’d think of one later.
the male pointed behind him, “bathroom is just past the doors. you left the door open and i saw you and got curious. also there was a security guard at that one girly store a few stores down so we should probably get away from here. i’d rather not get arrested. i have a nice job and well liked in my community.”
he beckoned the other to follow him with his red-nailed fingers as he went back out the doors and waited for the other to follow him before he closed it as if neither of them were there.
“you wait a minute. i have to pee, but i’m curious about you,” ryuji admitted with little shame as he shoved his bags of shoes into sombra’s arms before heading into the bathroom.
he opens his mouth to comment about the bathrooms, to say something along the lines of ‘there’s bathrooms in almost half the stores in this mall’, but closes it swiftly and instead gives a small, somewhat appreciative nod. knowing the whereabouts of the mall security always proves helpful, and if he’s got a good head on his shoulders he’ll call what he’s done already good enough and continue on. (spoiler alert: he has a good head on his shoulders.)
he follows along in silence, instead taking in the way ryuji’s nails are polished, the way he speaks somewhat hurriedly, and the way— wait.
“don’t be surprised if you come out to find no one here and no bags,” he calls after the sword card, though he merely leans against the wall with a relatively lost look on his face. really, he’s never met someone quite like this one — or, rather, he’s never been told to wait in one spot due to one’s curiosity and had to hold bags of shoes while waiting for said person to return from a trip to the bathroom. an odd situation, he knows, but he also knows it’s anything but dangerous.
he waits until the other card comes back into view and within arms-reach, teasingly shoving the bags back into his arms.
“—you can ask as many questions as you want, but i’m not answering all of them,” he says immediately after, already turning on his heel to leave the premise before a security guard comes around and questions them both.
+ DROPPED.
inesperado.

love
love — write a drabble of your character realizing they’re in love with mine.
when they first met, it was sunny and unbearably hot. at first, the card was just a friendly face, a nice friend to have that he’d hang around with every so often. he remembers the initial introduction, one that consisted of his own truths and the other’s lies. he’d accepted it nevertheless, and now?
well, now he couldn’t be happier.
his face never shows it, lips staying in a tight, straight line even when his heart pounds in his chest, even when the card snuggles against his side and falls asleep that way, even when he sees the younger shift while he’s only somewhat secretively drawing him.
( the feeling burns slowly at the start of it all, a small tightening of his chest that turns to shortness of breath to ideas that swirl in his head. ideas of the simplest of things, from holding hands to just sitting within the same room, and soon enough he finds his ideas turn to wishes that turn to undeniable want.
his feelings changed with the seasons; where the heat of the sun once gave way to subtle happiness, the cool breeze brought about a gentle wish, and now the biting cold gives him a swelling feeling in his chest that somehow keeps his entire body warm. and where the heat of the sun once gave way to dark lies, the cool breeze brought about white ones, and now the biting cold gives him truth. )
he takes his lower lip between his teeth, gently nipping at it as he draws. he stays silent as not to rouse the card from sleep, and in the back of his mind he can’t help but think how peaceful the other looks this way: his face free from irritation or concentration, mouth parted slightly and breathing gentle and slow — peaceful.
he leans in to get a closer look, shoulder brushing against the younger’s as their noses almost touch; he hadn’t paid attention to just how far he’d leaned, though he’s comfortable with this — comfortable with watching, with every little detail he takes in.
a slight movement of the other’s head startles him and he immediately begins to lean back, though he feels arms snake around his neck and, when he meets the card’s eyes, he freezes in place.
“taehyunie hyung,” the boy all but whines, and it’s cute (taehyun thinks he just might die if the boy keeps that up), “stay here. i’m comfortable.”
“jeongguk-ah..” taehyun trails off, and jeongguk obviously sees it as resistance because in the next moment there’s a gentle peck being placed on his cheek. his cheeks turn red at the action and he falls silent, eyes shifting from the triumphant little grin on jeongguk’s face to the fabric of the boy’s shirt as he rests his head on his shoulder.
jeongguk’s influence on him is great — so great that such a small action leaves his mind going into a state of overdrive that consists of a conflict of emotions that includes one he’s been on the fence about for quite some time: love.
but now, in the hacker’s loose embrace, cheek resting against his shoulder, he can feel his heart almost aching with how much it wants this very thing; the warmth is overpowering despite the wintry weather, and he finally knows for sure that, in this moment, he loves jeon jeongguk.
and he’s sure jeon jeongguk loves him, too.
( it’d be a shame if the kind words and romantic gestures were all a lie. )

ccseokjin:
Rain always brings a certain type of dullness in the neighborhood. Not that it is unpleasant but having he streets nearly empty and quiet is something compared to its usual liveliness just puts him in a somber mood.  But just because he’s in such a mood, it doesn’t mean he can ignore any of his chores or errands for the day, grocery shopping being top priority. It goes on without any problems, except for his socks getting kind of wet but that’s just a minor inconvenience. The normalcy of it all, makes Seokjin think about how it’s been quite a while since he had a day to himself with no heroes, no cards, no monsters and no magic. Though perhaps, he shouldn’t have assumed that all too easily. Not when he notices a figure crouched near the entrance to his apartment complex. His instincts kick in right away and even though he was looking forward to his day without any interruptions, he’s not the type to turn away someone in need.  Seokjin notices that his face is twisted in discomfort and when he asks for help, he crouches down immediately.
“can you stand or do you need help?”  there are more questions on the tip of his tongue but seokjin’s going to have to wait til they to the privacy of his room.
the card rises at the question, slowly and painfully. one of his hands go straight to the wall just so he can put most of his weight on it, and his lips draw into a tight frown at the discomfort the movements bring. he mentally curses this entire day and everything in it — his wires, this weather, that store, and most of all the situation he’s in now.
“i can stand, yeah,” he grits out through his teeth, letting out a small sigh when he finally stands up completely only to lean against the wall, “i can probably walk, too.”
pathetic, he thinks, and it truly is. his eyes wander to the rain and he stares at it, notes how unfortunate he is and how truly pathetic it is that he’s stuck somewhere just because part of him can’t handle some water. really, the great hacker card that can bring down corporations with a few taps of his fingers, that can’t be stopped by one of the most advanced firewalls in existence, can be stopped by water.
and it’s all because a part of him decided not to work properly. damn.
“—i can’t get in the rain, though,” he admits it as proudly as he possibly can, “it’ll just… it won’t work out.”
he keeps the entire explanation to himself, giving only a few pieces that he personally thinks make enough sense to avoid a slew of questions about that one particular part of this mess.
( and really, he’s keeping his back slightly turned just to keep a bunch of those questions silenced long enough for him to get somewhere that isn’t this exact spot — if the stranger permits, of course.
god, he hates being dependent on people. )
+ DROPPED.
now or never.

fight FIGHT
fight — write a drabble of my character fighting with/against yours.
“you suck dick at every game we play.”
ricky’s eyebrows knit together in irritation, fist clenching in his lap as his other hand holds his controller tightly.
“you cheat during every game we play,” he bites back, and sombra only rolls his eyes at the accusation even though they both know it’s true.
they continue on like this, sombra denying the hero’s words with short phrases that range from “i don’t remember that happening” to “just admit you suck already.” he can see ricky’s anger rising by the second, watchful eyes taking in the way the other picks at the fabric of the couch and grits his teeth together — most likely to keep from yelling and throwing a punch.
( passively, sombra thinks he could end the entire situation right here and now. if only he was in the mood for that. )
the controller is what gets thrown first, slamming onto the ground with a loud ‘thud’. the pillow follows suit, hitting sombra square in the face. the card reaches to toss it to the ground, ready to set ricky with an unamused look when he feels the couch dip and the fabric of the pillowcase press against his face.
“ricky, you fucking— get off, for fuck’s sake,” his complaint is muffled, and as soon as the words leave his mouth he’s met with even more force (yes, it makes air hard to come by, but he isn’t one to give the redhead satisfaction for anything).
“can’t hear you through all the bullshit,” ricky pauses upon noticing the card’s hand rise, a bright, purple light just barely beginning to form at the tip of his long nails. he grabs sombra’s wrist swiftly, yanking the boy’s hands away from whatever holographic-hack-shit he was about to try and smirking triumphantly before finishing, “sombra.”
the hero’s smirk only lasts for a few short moments, dissipating at a sharp pain in his groin that draws a yelp from him. he shrinks back enough for sombra to scramble to sit up, pillow tossed to the ground and forgotten. he stays away for a while, hands preoccupied pressing gently around the cruelly kicked area though eyes shooting a glare that says ‘this isn’t over yet.’
“you lose, go home,” sombra almost groans after the tense silence gets to be too much, the words effectively landing him a lost place on the couch as he hits the ground with the same ‘thud’ as the controller from earlier. the card rolls over onto his stomach, throwing up a middle finger as he hides an only somewhat amused grin, finishing mockingly, “ricky.”
“you’re gonna get your ass beat,” the hero mumbles, and as soon as he recovers he’s sitting on the younger’s back.
“keep telling yourself that. you’re the one with a throbbing dick.”

ccleedongminie:
@ccxjeongguk
he doesn’t often do things like this. approaching random people out on the streets. there are only a few reasons he would approach a stranger, and a lot of them just have to do with his curiosity taking over. his questioning of everything around him because there is still so much he doesn’t understand. having been raised so very sheltered.
but this isn’t something he ever thought he would do. the teen had snuck out of his room at the orphanage to walk around some more. feeling way to restless to just sleep despite the fact he should get a good nights rest before school. after all, he won’t stay in the top ten in class if he slacks off like this.
but tonight dongmin didn’t worry about it. he wasn’t tired, feeling all kind of too reckless to just lay down. and that’s probably how he got himself into the current situation. see, he’s seen the drawings on the walls all over town. stopping to look them over every now and again. he’s always found them cool, and wondered how they get done. and this happens to be his chance. he just so happened to turn down the exact path where someone was getting to work with a new ‘drawing.
“oohh!” he quickly moved towards the stranger, eyes wide with excitement. “wow.. this is so neat…” he whispered, keeping a bit of distance so he wouldn’t accidentally mess the other male up.
there are a few things in this world that sombra truly enjoys partaking in, and graffiti just so happens to be near the very top of his list. the moment night begins to fall, he loves to leave his home and find a blank canvas to spray paint with whatever abstract designs he has in mind (lest he be playing video games, of course).
nine times out of ten, he begins with his emblem: a skull with marks reminiscent of the day of the dead skull art. it’s no surprise this time when he does the very same, starting with an almost hexagonal outline and putting in the circles for the eyes, the little triangles for the markings, the nose — all in snow white.
it’s when he gets to the filling in part that he has to keep himself from jumping a little in surprise, pausing and letting up on the spray can’s nozzle. he glances over his shoulder to see a boy with shining eyes and the interest the other shows brings a prideful grin to his face.
“you could do it, too,” he says as he continues, waiting to continue any conversation until he finishes coloring it all in. and when it’s done, he takes a step back himself and turns to face the stranger, offering up the can of paint.
this looks fun*

cchyeri:
she knew his deal — she isn’t oblivious to these kind of thoughts (she herself played this role, after all). however, she knew he had the upper hand in this situation — she was the one asking him a for a favour. she had decided she would let him control the situation since her sister was so much more important that her measly ego (but god, he was shady).
she raises her eyebrows at the foreign phrase, both in confusion and aversion. the docility in his voice was rather unnerving, considering they were both still strangers at most. she was stuck between thinking he was actually trying to be friendlier, or that he was actually trying to trick her into something — perhaps a mix of both.
“i am relaxed,” hyeri huffs, crossing her arms. truthfully, she didn’t much like the idea of using her precious dimension in this deal as it was her one sanctuary, but it wasn’t like she had much of a choice. he had seemed very interested in her power, which was worrisome.
“…fine,” she shrugs at his words. “i expect at least some concrete evidence, though…” she knows her words hold little to no power, but she tries anyways. she’s the one who needs the information and she’s sure he’s aware of this fact.
indifferently, she tugs gently on the fabric of space, its threads unraveling easily to reveal the portal. her eyes drift over to the man’s face, watching his expressions carefully. if he didn’t like what he saw, she would lose an important source, and she couldn’t afford that. she needed any information on her sister, even if it came from an untrusted source.
besides, once he’s inside, she was the one in control — not that she’d let him know. it was a last resort type of situation, but if he really chose to trick her…
“well, there it is.”
“don’t worry, you’ll get some. if something’s out there, i can get it — and i’m pretty sure there’s some pretty good information on her out there,” he says it as if he’s trying to give her some sound of mind, and truthfully he is. he wants hyeri to be calmer about this entire thing — build up her confidence a little, that kind of thing. after all, if the girl is confident enough, she’ll accept scraps as they come and trust that he’s giving her everything even when he isn’t.
he watches as space suddenly seems to open, giving way to some kind of portal. he takes note of how it comes about and how she looks when doing so: apathetic, relaxed. to him, something such as this is significant as it tells him how easily she can use her power and maybe even gives some insight on how often (not that he’d use it past twice in one day — at least, he doesn’t think he will).
“your power’s pretty cool, you know,” sombra states in passing as he moves towards the rift, looking from the edges where space begins to tear to the middle where a whole other location lies. it’s with little caution that he invites himself inside, stepping in and staring at his new surroundings with something akin to amazement. it’s not often that he finds someone with a power like this, even less often that he gets himself into a situation where he’s allowed to use it for whatever he pleases.
and damn, does it make him feel triumphant as hell.
“—is there anything else i should know about this before we discuss your sister?”
+ DROPPED.
headed straight for the castle.

ccjimin:
jimin believes if he and sombra switched places, well… he wouldn’t be here. he thinks he’d be a very boring guy to bother and that it is completely pointless. jimin leaned back a bit, taking note of sombra’s persistence. “relax, kid. I was trying to ask if you had coupons or not. no big deal, eh?”
the boy sighed as he placed his arms on the counter, tiredly rolling his eyes as he continued. “but now I know that you don’t have any on you. and I can’t do you any favors because it’s against protocol. plus I’m not trying to lose my job, so,” he paused with a little shrug. “sorry, dude.”
since he’s stuck in this kind of conversation, with sombra of all people, jimin doesn’t bother to look at the clock. he’s pretty damn sure only twenty five seconds passed and that time itself could go slower from there. it’s such a sweet and lovely example of absolute torture. how exactly could he make the best out of this?
the calculating look in sombra’s eyes doesn’t quite match the pout that still remains as jimin speaks, a noticeably louder huff passing through his lips in an attempt to stall for a few more seconds just so he can decide whether or not he wants to really get on this boy’s nerves and push everything further.
“you know, hyung, it’s easy to find the same things sold here a lot cheaper other places. i get you’re just an employee at the register, but… that affects your paycheck, doesn’t it? so technically, if you think about it, giving someone a discount on something could get you paid more in the long-run,” he pauses, and in the back of his mind he knows everything he’s saying is just a bunch of shit strung together to sound smart and even somewhat concerned, “and even if you lost your job doing it, you’d end up with the same pay just about. plus, you could just get another job around here somewhere.”
there’s an amused grin that threatens to ruin the worried look he’s plastered on his face during his little spiel, though he fights it back by forcing his lips into a thin line.
     “makes sense, doesn’t it?”
fastidio.

                                                                     press start
@ccxjeongguk
their first match had ended peacefully, nicely. at least, in jooheon’s opinion, it had. sombra was an amazing individual and seeing the charismatic player from up close had made him realise why he had such a big following. his fame wasn’t all there was to him, of course, but jooheon couldn’t help feeling the slightest bit excited and nervous when the possibility and prospect of them being and becoming friends seemed within reach.  he’s not sure how it happened that the two of them ended up in the same room again, if he was honest (but thinks to remember it having something to do with him annoying sombra until the other caved). the situation seemed almost unreal, but jooheon was already leaning onto the table, his elbow propped up and hand uncurling as his dimples once again made an appearance, “so, the last time you won, but that was only because i had a bad day. this time it’s gonna be my time, i just know it. what do you say, hyung? are you ready for an arm wrestling match?”
at first, jooheon seemed rather… useless, to put it bluntly. however, throughout their first meeting he realized that the boy practically screamed charming, innocent, entertaining — and even if sombra had been walking the line between teasing and rude, he could silently admit to himself by the end of it all that he had a certain level of liking towards jooheon.
and so he kept in contact, resisting little to the human’s persistence of them meeting face-to-face again.
( that’s the one thing he allowed jooheon to win with after all this time. y’see, their relationship is one that centers around competitiveness; they compete in just about everything they do — who can eat more, who can drink the coffee faster, who can beat the other in various games, and now? who can beat the other at arm wrestling. )
“it’s never your time, jooheon-ah. i always win no matter what,” he replies as he rests his elbow on the table, mirroring the younger, “you know you’re not strong enough to beat me. why not pick something you’re actually good at? assuming there is anything.” he pauses, interlacing his fingers with jooheon’s. he grips tightly and readies himself.
“come on, then. i’ll start when you do, no count needed.”

ccsouthth:
it’s like the universe is mocking him.
like it took one look at his sorry life, and decided to see how they could switch things up a bit more. put some more turmoil into his life.as if someone had came up to him and said ‘life sucks, but here’s a rock’ except the rock turned out to be just a pile of mud. so now not only is he aware that life sucks, but now he has muddy hands.
and isn’t that such a good way to describe being a hero…
it really is like the universe is mocking him though. how else would he explain his reaction to this. to how much warmth flooded him when the door opened. seeing that smile stretch across that adorable face, the smile just for him being here. knowing despite the short amount of time that past, jeongguk was still welcoming him back inside.
the warmth that flooded him was disgusting. the feeling of belonging, the same feeling that brought him crawling back. that had him sitting pathetically in his apartment the last weeks, not even having the desire to draw. wanting nothing more than to just become apart of the wall that he spent so much time leaning again. even polly, who is normally so affectionate, could seen his inner turmoil. staying away from him.
it’s stupid. it’s so stupid what this does to him. how weak he feels when he’s around jeongguk. how the younger male makes his heart beat just a little faster. and how he doesn’t feel comfortable until he see’s the other.
“… jeongguk ah…” he spoke softly, heisting for just a moment before entering slowly. what a hypocrite he is. complaining about all of this… not even trying to back away. not sticking to his vow to never come back. because where is he a month later. a month after telling jeongguk he couldn’t do this, after walking away with the intentions of forgetting it all.
he’s right back where he started.
everything looks familiar. everything, right down to the younger male before him. and it does nothing to help the struggle in his mind. the desire to be with jeongguk, the feelings.
and what a digusting word that is, feelings… tae doesn’t do feelings. he doesn’t. he has no need for feelings, no need to this burning desire to be near someone. to hear them say his name. to know he can go to them at any time, and they’ll let him in. he has never needed any of this.
so why did he come back… why does he stay.
it’s always odd to hear someone refer to him by his real name, though low in his throat sounds a pleased hum and he silently reminds himself that having someone know that bit of information is worth it for the benefits it gives; truthfully, he could go on and on about how wonderful the situation is, how easily he can be given whatever he wants (within reason, of course).
he pushes his thoughts away momentarily to keep his smile in place, sitting down on the couch and patting the area beside him to signal taehyun to sit down either there or in one of the seats nearby. he lets silence hang in the air and it’s comfortable — at least on his end — until his patience dwindles due to taehyun’s hesitation.
“taehyun hyung?” he tilts his head slightly to the side watchfully, “do you want coffee or anything? you know what’s here.”
sombra knows taehyun remembers every inch of this house and what stays within it; the older has come here more times than he can count, eaten here and slept here. and then there’s the places taehyun likes to go — the small cafes, the shops, everything. he remembers it all, too, though for different reasons than the hero; he remembers them because all of this creates a lock and key situation, one where he has the key and does with it whatever he pleases.
( but even now, he can admit that there are some truly enjoyable bits and pieces of this act, and by no means does he dislike taehyun. truth be told, there are some aspects of the older’s personality that he finds favorable and some situations are really quite amusing to him. he enjoys the little things, and by now he realizes some of his kindness isn’t an act; no, the act begins when he passes out of platonic to romantic — friendship to love.
he doesn’t love taehyun. he never will. )
“—we could go to that cafe you like, too, or just… whatever, really. i didn’t have anything planned but video games today, so…”
* come back home

ccnamjoon:
namjoon hums at the answer, fingers tapping on his arm as he shifts once more. a tongue pokes against the inside of his cheek, jaw clicking as he tenses it out of habit, his eyes still roaming over the place before fully settling on sombra. he spends a few more seconds of silence merely staring, letting the weight of everything settle in his brain. friends, he keeps reminding himself. this isn’t strange– the rest of humanity are used to the concept of friendship, so he shouldn’t either, to at least keep up appearances. so he tries.
one eyebrow raises. “that sounds vague.” he muses, not helping the snort that leaves him. a smile twitches in place, and the question directed towards him only makes him hum. he doesn’t give a quick response, and rather– he follows the others gesture, seating himself slowly. he’s stiff arms, stiff legs, but sitting down eases some of that. a soft exhale leaves him, hand coming up to run through his hair, brushes the strands out of his vision as he pins the other with an amused quirk of his lips.
“boring? i know boring, and you’re not it.” it’s a loose compliment, one that namjoon doesn’t dwell on. he glances at his fingers, picks at a stray hangnail with a frown, tongue clicking as he settles on focusing the unanswered question. he thinks about it for a moment, piecing his words together. lips part to speak, then close, before opening once more.
“a starving artist, is what i’ve heard mentioned.” he states, flexing his fingers before shifting, making himself a bit more comfortable as he lifts his head to look at the other. “but…not really starving. or struggling, really. i’m quite comfortable.” he chuckles softly at his own joke, white teeth peeking out from pink lips. “i paint, and i sell it to the highest bidder. sometimes i make commissions. it all depends on how i’m feeling, really.” he sets his elbow on the arm of a chair, propping his chin on his palm.
his jaw clicks as it tenses. what a bad habit. “information broker. huh. makes sense, with all the access i’m sure you can nab.” one finger lifts to rub at his eyebrow, eye falling shut at the action before reopening. “pretty penny for that, isn’t it? or are you one of those questionable types that takes favors for pay rather than money?”
“put everything about me on paper, and i’m pretty boring,” he murmurs as a half-response, though he hardly believes it’s true. taking down dozens of companies and deceiving others the way he does is anything but boring, and oh, if only namjoon knew the half of it.
( for a split second, he thanks whatever deity exists that namjoon doesn’t just yet; the hex card seems philosophical and even gentle to a certain degree despite things of the past he’s found buried deep on the web — things of cruelty, yes, but things that drove him to seek this one out due to his own interest in it all.
he supposes he truly did his new friend a favor by deleting a scrap or two of information he’d initially found. the less dirt out there on someone, the better. )
sombra sits in silence as namjoon explains what it is he does, offering a small nod of understanding. truthfully, he believes such a thing fitting for the man before him. an artist, someone who captures aspects that are either plain or beautiful, good or evil, and puts it onto their canvas; for someone with as many ideas as he’s sure namjoon has, it must work well. he can only imagine just how many things pass through the other’s mind at any given moment.
“sounds fun enough so long as you stay motivated.” he says and it’s almost passive, though he makes sure he sounds interested — and in truth, he is, though with all the fake faces he puts on throughout the day his true intentions often get misconstrued.
there’s a small bout of silence when the subject makes an almost abrupt change back to his own profession. he leans back against the couch, staring up at the ceiling. he hums at first, the sound low but somehow loud enough to fill the room for those few seconds. it’s a few more moments of him merely sitting there before he finally looks to namjoon and gives a nod.
“i take favors or money. some people need what they can’t afford, so i just tell them they owe me. if you ask me, it’s not that shady — depending on what information they’re looking for. some people have a weird head on their shoulders,” he grins once the words leave him, a small, silent laugh leaving him, “and yeah, it pays pretty well — well enough for me to have a house like this.”
“yours pays decent though too, doesn’t it? some artists make a fortune off what they create.”
cypher.

killing time the fake hateful way with help from @ccxjeongguk.
man, wes is bored as fuck. his choice to take an early shift today has only left him without anything to do in the afternoon, but there are too many hours of the day left for him to just go home. so he roams the rest of the mall, looking for someplace to kill time before finding a bar to spend the evening in. there’s never much that directly interests him, but he’s found more than enough entertainment through patrons to stop seeking them out for more immature fun.
to be clear, his brand of immature isn’t very consistent. the single constant is his need to test people’s patience, whether by instigating or ignoring shit. he’s in the mood to do the former when he steps into the pc room, and a goal begins to take shape when he overhears people talking about competitions later that day. he’s been wondering whether he could get himself kicked out of one of these places, the idea of having to avoid staying on another floor of the complex he works in, and this seems to be as good a chance as he gets. if he gets lucky, he can rile someone up and get them banned with him.
for this plan to work, though, wes would rather know who to target. it’s with this in mind that he approaches one of the players he’s come to recognize from previous visits, a content smile on his lips when he stops beside him. “yo. who’s playing later? you?” he leans a little closer, slightly lowering his voice. “i want to push my luck tonight; got someone you wouldn’t mind hearing me yell at? i don’t know shit, but you can give me good insults, right? i want to see how much is enough to get me kicked out.”
while sombra is relatively well-known within the world of gaming and could easily strike up a conversation, he prefers standing off to the sidelines and just listening; he listens to others talk strategy and sometimes even alliance — an alliance for the reason of advantage, and even now he hears it. even now, he can’t help but laugh silently to himself because such things never work out.
he’s in the middle of this line of thought, amusement obvious in his eyes when a voice interrupts him. he looks over and his eyebrows rise at what the boy says, though as he continues a smirk swiftly forms.
“me and that pathetic little group over there,” he keeps his voice low as well, though it’s mostly to save his own ass from getting bad standings with ‘that pathetic little group over there’. In all honesty, he could care less for all of them. some always believe they’ll go head-to-head with him or some other “rival” (because no, sombra doesn’t consider himself any of their rivals nor does he consider them worth his time) and win, whereas some are just downright idiots.
sombra falls silent after that, a thoughtful look on his face as he just thinks. beside him is a boy that wants to stir up trouble — make things more interesting — and in front of him is a group of people he doesn’t necessarily like. blunt insults aren’t exactly a thing he prides himself on, however he knows he’s strategic enough to give this guy a good time messing around with a player or two.
      the question now is who.
“that one,” he pipes up suddenly, nodding towards a man with short, black hair and red glasses, “he gets offended if you drop a pen the wrong way. fucking around with him is funny as hell, and he’ll definitely say something to get himself kicked out along with you— actually, he’s got one or two people that might say shit, too, so at the most it’s three against one.”

cchongbin:
@ccxjeongguk
there are few magical creatures whom hongbin can say that he genuinely would wish to kill, if given the chance. most, he tends to kill out of simply being territorial, or maybe even because he could use the practice. but rarely does he seek to murder with anything dark clouding his heart.
sombra is an exception to the rule.
he’s someone who so easily gets on hongbin’s nerves- who brings out the most vile parts of him that he would rather keep hidden. it isn’t necessarily because sombra has wronged him in a way that’s unforgivable. rather, it’s because without fail, time and time again sombra continues to search for things he can turn into unforgivable acts, finds what makes hongbin tick and sinks his teeth in.
of course, hongbin is no saint, and he’s certainly not able to cast the first stone here. he’s never been the most friendly- through all of his years of existence or through these past few masquerading as human. if anything, his temper has worsened. so he snaps back, he creates wounds to dig his own claws into, lets his words be the metaphorical salt.
he wouldn’t admit to it aloud, but something about it makes him feel more alive than he has in years- that the way pain sings in his veins every time they fight, the way it mixes so finely with pleasure he can hardly tell them apart sometimes. for all hongbin loathes sombra, the way his face looks when he’s in pain is absolutely lovely.
even now, when he spots sombra in a part of town that has a decidedly hazy boundary between territories, his pulse quickens. in excitement, in anger, in anticipation. he could turn tail and leave. it would be so easy to pretend he hadn’t seen sombra- at least to let sombra be the instigator tonight.
but he’d never have any fun if he lived his life like that, now would he?
and so hongbin stalks over, light as air, until he’s near enough to call out to the other man. there’s an all too familiar spark in his blood, a rush of something he doesn’t want to name that bubbles to the surface when he finally opens his mouth, teeth glinting in the artificial glow of the streetlights.
“i didn’t think i’d be doing community service today, and yet the trash has practically presented itself to me, waiting to be thrown away. what a good boy.”
sombra’s never been one to pay attention to territories; boundaries are nonexistent to him even if he does know where they lie, and so he walks wherever he pleases without a single worry in his head about who would and wouldn’t enjoy his presence in the area. (he doubts there’s anyone in this world that truly enjoys his presence without all the fake bullshit in the first place, really.)
tonight is just like all the others, though a certain irritation pricks at his skin that causes his foot to tap restlessly against the ground. he’s supposed to be meeting with someone to hand off a load of information, and yet that someone is over an hour late — a no-show. it’s things like this that cause his mood to become foul even under layer upon layer of fake smiles and sweet words, the narrowing of his eyes and stiffness of his muscles in general never failing to give it all away.
he crosses his arms and sighs, nails tapping against his bicep. the decision to simply go home and lock all he’s found up within the depths of his computer is made swiftly, however the moment he turns his irritation merely grows and but a step is taken before he stops in his tracks.
with almost anyone else, he’d brush past them and be on his merry way. but hongbin? well, hongbin’s a different story. he thinks of it like this: he has a knife held at hongbin’s throat, and yet hongbin has a knife held at his, too — they’re equal, in this sense, though sombra will never treat it as such. instead, he speaks down to the older, draws just enough blood with that knife to hurt without doing any sort of real damage (and hongbin always does the same to him, not that he’ll admit it whenever he’s been outdone).
“is that the best you could come up with, hongbin-ah?” he asks with a forced smile, words coming out softly even though they drip with venom, “i can tell you put a lot of thought into it with that little brain of yours.”
it’s here that he takes a few steps forward, though instead of a head-on confrontation he chooses to lean against a wall, fingernails still tapping away at his arm as he pretends he doesn’t feel the very same excitement practically radiating from the other.
“really, though, how do you always find me? do you like me that much? i’m honored.”

ccxjoy:
she almost lets out a yelp when she hears him speak. it was hard to scare her, but she almost believed everyone in the shop was mannequin-like. ( or, frozen… somewhere. ) but, this boy was real and their objectives seemed to be the same. they had to figure out why they were here.
should i trust him?
she wasn’t sure if he was in on this. her eyes scanned the boy, immediately spotting the skull on his shirt. i shouldn’t. her fists clench upon recognizing who he possibly could be. she’s about to draw her weapon but stops when she feels the sorceress’s eyes burn on her back. the hero released a breath of annoyance.
”there’s definitely something off about it,” her tone is barely audible, and she quickly turns her head to check if yuuko was still looking at their direction. “did your flyer have a handwritten address? was it sent by an owl?”
she paused when she realized she was about to ask too many questions. she’s come to realize that sometimes, questions may accidentally reveal too much. the last thing she wanted was to reveal her hero identity to the hacker. she didn’t want him to reveal information this powerful to the world. she didn’t need him to reveal more of her family’s business for everyone to leech on.
she opens her mouth to continue but closes it once again in hesitance. he wasn’t exactly someone she should trust. but, there was something beyond them that was far greater than old inconveniences.
“mine was handwritten,” she says finally. “i think the flyers aren’t just flyers… perhaps they’re an invitation or warning? i don’t know, but it just feels like something important is happening. we live in such a digital world. letters are rarely sent now. couldn’t a flyer like this have been emailed? or printed out and have employees hand them outside—”
“—perhaps this is just some big invitation for a halloween party. i’d dress up as ariel.”
( she chuckles, but she’s sure he could see right through her joke. )
she’s uneasy. he can tell it from the way she hesitates, the way when his eyes scan over her they land on clenched fists. for once in his life he’s in a cloud of uncertainty himself, and he can admit it silently that he isn’t exactly comfortable. the only question left from it is what exactly is making her this way, and… ah, well. he supposes it doesn’t really matter.
“all of the flyers are the same from what i’ve seen: handwritten address, useless coupons, and then some kind of note at the bottom that reads like a warning,” he responds, turning his full attention to her and leaning lightly against one of the shelves — keyword lightly, he doesn’t want any part of a bunch of bullshit falling and him being the one to blame. especially not when he’d seen yuuko’s eyes practically staring a hole into the girl mere moments ago.
he hums at the rest of her statement, suppressing a small smirk at the mention of a digital world because really, she’s got no clue just how digital the world he lives in is. (it’s funny if he thinks about it, how he’s as close to technology as one can really get, but that’s not exactly what he’s here to be contemplating and so it’s shoved to the back of his mind.)
“i’d dress up as one of those new overwatch characters,” his tone comes out flat, though he plasters the tiniest smile on his face just to seem a little friendlier. maybe it’d help her talk to him without pausing every few seconds, and maybe it’d keep him from actually laughing at his own inside joke. (spoiler alert: he suppresses the laugh just fine.)
“—but really, mine was sent with a white owl and had some weird opening surprise — a scent and all that. as for how significant it is,” he pauses and nods in yuuko’s direction, uncaring of whether or not the sorceress was a fan of that little gesture of his, “that one knows a lot more than she’s telling us. i got a fortune from her and she hardly told me anything besides what i suppose is the whole… hero and card bond being important, but i could be wrong.”
     “has she told you anything?”
