Hague Rugby Club Selects Superb Grass for New Artificial Turf Pitch
Tumblr media
Hague Rugby Club Selects Superb Grass for New Artificial Turf Pitch
Artificial turf comes in many forms. Just as with the bulk of today’s products in the modern world, there is a low grade version that could be thought of as a “quick fix”. At the other end of the spectrum, there is the top end variant that offers a multitude of advantages over its inferior cousins, while also being capable of lasting for a very long period.
The Hague Rugby Club (HRC) in The Netherlands does not do things by halves. Founded in 1932 (making it one of the country’s oldest rugby clubs), and with the initial name of “Tackles”, HRC won the nation rugby championships 10 times between 1966 and 1985. Today, it boasts a membership of 500+ and a plush new clubhouse beside its pitch alongside Theo Mann Bouwmeesterlaan in New Wassenaar, a district (former township) in the town of Wassenaar that is the second most prosperous municipality in the Netherlands and home to many a multimillionaire.
Hence, when the club was given considerable say in the selection process, HRC opted for the artificial grass version of a Rolls Royce; “Superb”, a new product from the world’s largest manufacturer of artificial turf, China-based CCGrass.
CCGrass Superb has been found to satisfy the product test requirements of World Rugby Regulation 22, the Performance Specification for Rugby Turf (2015 Performance Specification) and the World Rugby Laws of the Game — Law 1 for use on Outdoor and Indoor venues.
It almost goes without saying that in order to meet such stringent requirements, CCGrass Superb must indeed be just that. The manufacturer is confident in their offering of 12 to 15 years of warranty, while Superb also boasts an incredible resilience.
Labosport is a leading technical institute dedicated to sport surfaces and equipment. In use for over a decade, their Lisport product has been adopted by the industry as the most state-of-the-art means of realistically replicating wear simulation of sport fields after years of usage, in just days. The machine can simulate the wear patterns on artificial turf made by the compressive stress of both football studs (cleats) and more abrasive wear such as that caused by flat-soled trainers. Tests made at CCGrass’s 500 thousand square metre factory in Jiangsu’s Huai’an city on the company’s own Lisport machine, showed Superb artificial grass to have a wear resistance of some 250,000 Lisport cycles.
It is often said that it is better to weep once than cry many times, an expression that is more than a good fit for the new CCGrass Superb product; the many years of potential use that outstrip virtually every competitor is more than justification for the investment.

FIH Publishes New Standards for Hockey Turf and Facilities
Tumblr media
Building on the success of FIH Quality Programme for Hockey Turf, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has recently launched new standards for hockey turfs, hockey fields and Hockey5s courts.
The new Standard is published in four parts. Part 1 is a general guidance for those considering a new hockey facility. Part 2 defines the FIH Approved Products and the performance and durability standards to achieve. Part 3 describes the performance and construction requirements for a hockey field. Part 4 of the Standard is similar to Part 3 but describes the performance and construction requirements for small sided hockey facilities used for Hockey5s and other versions of mini-hockey.
Available as downloads on the FIH website, the new standards mark another milestone in the development of high quality, sustainable hockey facilities.
A principle change in the new Standard is a focus on encouraging manufacturers to develop surfaces for use at the higher levels of the sport that require less water, with the desire that they will eventually be able to produce surfaces that perform as a Global category Hockey Turf without any water.
Equally important, the new Standard also sees an expansion of the multi-sport categories of Hockey Turf approved by the FIH. The new Standard has categories that will enable sports such as tennis, netball and lacrosse to be played on hockey fields and courts.
During the development process, FIH is committed to building standards for hockey turfs, fields and courts with the purpose to provide the performance guidelines, to develop facilities for the next generation and to enhence consistency and quality of fields across the world.
As a FIH Certified Manufacturer, CCGrass specializes in the manufacturing of hockey turf. We have a proven ability to manufacture hockey turf to the standards the game requires, operate quality management systems to ensure consistency in products and provide comprehensive maintenance advice to customers. A grass global level system is certified for top-level professional hockey games, such as the Olympic Games and the World Cup.

Why I say most people don’t know how to choose artificial grass for their garden?
Before joining in this business, I already had the first experience of artificial grass. That was the second year after I graduated from college, and I didn’t realize that was artificial. It was a soccer field at a college near my apartment. I was trying to lose some weight at that time, also to reduce the pressure from the daytime work through exercise. If you were young and living in China, you probably wouldn’t have money to spare for the expensive gym. So I choose to jog on that soccer field with my girlfriend before dinner. One day, after running, we sat on the pitch, and I casually pulled the grass as everyone would do. But I can’t for the “leaves” were too tough, almost like some kind fibrous material. Then I dug up some rubber from the pitch, which I thought should be soil, then I said, ‘’Oh! It is plastic ‘’(I did not know the material of the infill at that time). However, this prompted me to think that this kind of product may have a big tomorrow.
Tumblr media
For many reasons, I entered this field later and joined the biggest artificial grass company named CCGrass. Three years ago, one executive in my company bought a house with a big backyard in our city. Then he decided to use artificial grass to finish the flooring. At that time, landscaping grass was developed. Unlike the soccer field grass which comes in different yarn structures and appearances, it is much more suitable for garden landscaping. Later, I got a chance to film the installation process and made an introductory video of landscaping grass.
When we finished, I started to think what makes good landscaping grass. After the installation, any microcosmic difference becomes not that important. Indeed, you still need good-looking grass and realistic looking. But the typical characteristics of the grass such as the shape of the yarn and the color of the backing become almost indiscernible to me when finished. I did consider them a lot when we were trying to make the decision of model picking. In fact, on some level, the latest artificial grass is too refined to be used for landscaping because the color is greener and shape flatter than real grass. Many R&D departments were putting too much focus on microcosmic looking because when people try to make a purchase decision; those characteristics are often the priority.
I realize my best experience of artificial grass was the first time I sat on the soccer field near my apartment. I did not immediately find out it was actually synthetic. That’s just enough for the product appearance. People choose artificial grass because it needs much less water and maintenance than nature one, and you can put it anywhere without applying chemical fertilizer, it is safe and evergreen. I said to myself, that’s what people need, their real need.
Because of my job, I get to visit many countries to see and learn the artificial landscaping in the world, such as Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Vietnam, Peru, Chile and the United States (That’s right, our sales network is all over the globe).
I must admit, not every landscaping site proves to be good. Many of them were installed many years ago and were constantly exposed to heavy sunlight for 8–10 hours per day. Even in some cases, the lawn obviously was crushed by vehicles frequently and became some kind of shabby carpet. Of course, if you drive on real turf, the result would be the same. The lawn in the garden is much better. People care about its appearance and make necessary maintenance. Nevertheless, there are still striking differences among the projects I’ve seen. Some samples faded and were worn out in quite short time (less than 6 months). Again, they became some kind of shabby carpet, totally not the same as when they were new.
Convenient, safety and long-lasting freshness are the key advantages of artificial grass. If the turf needs to be changed every 6 months, you’ll have a horrible product experience. And I notice that, if the landscaping lawn is good-looking and well-maintained, people are more likely to sit and lie on it because it feels good, just like real turf. But you do not want to get allergies when you touch the lawn. Many people are allergic to heavy metal, and if the turf was not manufactured right, they may contain heavy metal, clearly, you don’t want your child to sit on turf like that.
We tested some of the faded samples and did find some heavy metals and high-concern chemical substances, which are very unhealthy to the human body. Obviously, those samples were not our products. But why did the turf end like this? Why does it contain those chemicals and heavy metals which are not healthy for people? I want to find out the reason. Later on, I discussed with my friend and colleague Dr. Zhao. He majored in polymer chemistry and has served in the industry for over 20 years. He said,” Many pieces of evidence point to the fact that some irresponsible manufacturers, in order to reduce the cost, they use recycled materials to produce landscaping turf. Recycling itself is not the issue, it’s healthy and environmentally friendly. But how to use the recycled materials is the problem. Using them to make outdoor chairs, trash cans, and things like that are ok because their structure and use require less durability and contact. Even for those applications, you have to make sure the recycling process is correct to reduce heavy metals and other high-concern chemical substances in the recycled materials. “ He did not mention the durability, because, at that time, our company did not care about it, either. We used to think the appearance is the only selling point for landscaping grass like everyone did. But I think the market would care about the durability. Recycled materials also could cause poor durability, especially, reduce UV resistance. That gives the answer of fading and aging of the samples.
From that time, our R&D started to research about how to improve the durability and how to ensure 100% health. For me as a marketing man, I started to think how to introduce to the world market what is durable and healthy landscaping lawn. Both of us have achieved our goals, and the answer is below:UV Defender & Health Protector. If you see those two logos, they mean that:
l The product model was tested by SGS (world’s leading testing and certification company) with the official test report
l After over 3000 hours of UVA&UVB exposure, the product has no fading
l The product is lead-free
l No 8 heavy metals are detected in the product
l No 72 high-concern chemical substances are detected in the product
l
If you want more details, please check out the VCR:

You may ask, why it works? How does it work? Please refer to the test report:

Hopefully, more and more people can identify high-quality grass.

Artificial Greenery a Hit for CCGrass at Two Major Russian Exhibitions
Tumblr media
Russia is a market full of potential, especially in the infrastructure construction industry. CCGrass, the world’s largest producer of artificial turf, exhibited at two major expos in the capital Moscow last month.
Dating back to 1995, Mosbuild, took place from 4 to 7 April 2017, in Moscow’s Expo Centre, and was attended by 64,490 visitors plus 1,200 Russian and international exhibitors, representing a cross-section of the building and interiors sector.
With only 6 percent of exhibitors from foreign countries (as opposed to 62 and 32 percent from Moscow and other regions of Russia), China-based CCGrass took the chance to stand out from the crowd in showing off their world-class artificial turf solutions.
CCGrass Salesman for the Russian market, Michael Xia, was one many company representatives who traveled to Moscow for the exhibition. He said of the experience, “To be honest, we really didn’t have faith in the sales of landscaping grass in this land because it is maybe not a necessity to locals. For attracting visitors, we even picked out a cartoon figure from Russian classics; Cheburashka, a bear which looks like Mickey Mouse, as the picture of our cartoon turf. It was proved later that the pretty bear really helped us to get popularity. Children, adults, grandpas and grandmas, despite their age, they were all willing to take a picture with him.”
In spite of the harsh weather, shortage of sunlight, less greenery, they still want their life painted with green, and that’s exactly what CCGrass dedicates to offer to clients; an alternative to natural grass.
CCGrass then went on to exhibit their wares at the Sports International Exhibition 2017, another 3-day expo that was held later in April in Moscow’s Sokolniki Park Museum and showcases products from the sport, toy and game industries. As a sign of the firm’s confidence in the market, CCGrass specially installed four synthetic football turf system models that attracted much attention from the show’s visitors. Michael fondly recalled, “Even when the minister of Sports Department of Russia, Mr. Kolobkov walked by, he couldn’t help having a touch of them!
“When we mention Russia, the stereotype of this country and people there can always be concluded by one word: “cold”. But to us, it was a wonderful experience in Russia. Moscow welcomed us with enthusiasm and kindness. The weather was still cold when we were about to leave, but I felt warm, imagine how beautiful the city would be with green decor everywhere.”

CCGrass’s footprint in Europe gets bigger
CCGrass has appointed Bryn Lee as managing director for their new European operations. Lee is well-informed about the artificial grass industry. Prior to joining CCGrass, he held management positions at TigerTurf and Bonar Yarns, amongst many others. SportsTurf.eu spoke to Bryn Lee about the plans and ambitions CCGrass has for Europe.
Tumblr media
To many Europeans, the brand CCGrass doesn’t ring a bell immediately. This is predominantly caused by ignorance on anything that hails from China. The country is often linked to products made from plastic, but for many people is also synonymous with ‘inferior quality’ and ‘poor service’. Reality is different, however. In 2011 AMI Research ranked CCGrass as the largest producer of artificial grass in the world. It is a position the company also holds in AMI’s 2016 Research Report. Since their inception in 2002, CCGrass has installed more than 100,000,000 m2 of artificial grass in more than 100 countries. The company has a large footprint in the landscaping industry, with international retail corporation Walmart as one of their biggest clients.
CCGrass is also one of only six FIFA Preferred Producers, the only Asian company that can claim the endorsement by the world football governing body, as well as an FIH Certified Manufacturer. With the quality of their products tested and verified by test institutes like Sports Labs, Labosport, Kiwa ISA-Sport and SGS, and acknowledged by various sports governing bodies like FIFA and FIH, investing in an artificial grass sports surface from CCGrass will be a safe bet. The question is: where do you place your bargaining chips?
You can rely on close to 30 years’ experience in the artificial grass industry and you worked for companies like the SIS Group, TigerTurf, Desso and Bonar Yarns. What made you decide to join CCGrass?
BL: ‘I went to China to see their plant and met the owners and staff in 2010 and I was very impressed. Chinese people are very committed and want to do things exceptionally well. I worked for them as a consultant for two years. My commercial, as well as industry experience and substantial experience of international sports businesses, will now help me replicate the drive, efficiency, organization and team spirit that is so evident in China, whilst bringing their extensive portfolio of sports products to a wider audience.’
Your Linkedin profile and the media announcement by CCGrass made us curious: please light the fuse to the cracker and announce the ‘big bang’!
BL: ‘As of late 2017 CCGrass will have its first European based company to further serve existing customers and to increase sales in other parts of Europe. Company officials have already signed documentation for the new company, which will be trading under the name of Altima Sports & Leisure GmbH. It is a significant move to establishing a closer connection with our strong European customer base and is the logical progression for CCGrass to be closer to one of its main markets. Opening Altima Sports & Leisure GmbH as our office in the city of Frankfurt was inevitable. Its airport is the second busiest airport in Europe, offering easy access to places all over Europe. It also provides a direct connection to our main factory Jiangsu in China. We will sell CCGrass products exclusively. I will be the CEO and we are currently in the process of appointing sales people and office workers.’
What will this mean for your products and services?
BL: ‘Production will remain in China, where CCGrass currently has two modern production plants with a combined factory area of 500,000 m2. Here CCGrass is running more machinery than any other company in the artificial grass industry. Most machines are originally from North-American and Europe. Everything is set to even open a third plant in 2019. Our office in Frankfurt will be mainly for sales and support. Germany is an important market for us that we want to develop further. From Frankfurt, we can go anywhere in Europe very quickly. Having our production in China does not affect our ability to deliver quickly. We have sufficient production capacity and our Chinese staff work long shifts and are very efficient. To put it into perspective: CCGrass delivers four full-size football pitches every day. Once the order has been received, we will tuft the carpet within one week. It will take approximately four weeks to have it delivered in Europe and another one or two weeks to have it installed.’
Tumblr media
Europeans have a hate-love relationship with plastic products from China. They are cheap but often considered being of inferior quality. This perception was reflected at the 2017 FSB Show when the significant Chinese delegation was ignored by most of the visitors. Aren’t you afraid to receive a similar treatment?
BL: ‘It will always be German exhibitors that will attract the majority of the visitors at a show in Germany. Nevertheless, I am happy to say that our stand at the show was full at all times. In the next few weeks, I’ll travel to many countries to follow up the various prospects we met in Cologne. The perception of China supplying inferior quality products is misplaced. Everybody loves the iPhone, which is designed in the US but produced in China. Until recently the main sports played in China were badminton and table tennis, with little outdoor field sports, such as football, hockey or rugby played. CCGrass recognized the need to understand these sports made a serious effort to research the market and product and to embrace quality programmes like the FIFA Quality Programme. They communicate at top-level with all relevant authorities, including the various international sport governing bodies, research labs and universities. Being a supplier to the landscaping industry is relatively easy, but the artificial grass market for sport is completely different as there is much more focus on quality. The fact that they passed all stringent tests to become a FIFA Preferred Producer speaks volumes, as this also included passing FIFA’s scrutiny in terms of production, environmental issues, training, experience, legislation and many other issues.’
Will your European presence mean that we can soon expect lower priced artificial grass products from China to flood the market in Europe?
BL: ‘When it comes to business, Chinese companies are aggressive but play fair and are focused on quality. The Quality Control Department of our factories in China employs over 150 people. You’ll be lucky if you find more than one in some other artificial grass producers elsewhere in the world. Sure: when the market wants a low-cost product, we will be able to supply a low-cost product. But to make an analogy to the English Premier League, considered to be the best football league in the world: there are probably five to six companies in the Premier League for artificial grass that tick all the boxes in terms of quality. CCGrass is certainly one of them. We work very close to our installing partners to deliver this quality. If needs are we provide assistance and training to help them achieve top installations. This is also a prerogative set by FIFA in order to become and remain a FIFA Preferred Producer.’
Europeans are full of experiences and opinions. What will you offer them?
BL: ‘During the 2017 FSB Show we launched the PRT series backing. PRT stands for Permeable, Recyclable, Tuftlock. It drains water five times faster than previously and is easily recyclable. CCGrass also uses a special technique to improve the tuft lock. Another announcement we recently made was the introduction of three new yarn additives to cope with excessive heat, bacteria, and static electricity. These will help to improve the player experience when playing on a CCGrass artificial grass surface in extreme conditions. It is our goal to provide more niche solutions to the various challenges we face in the industry.’
‘The great thing about CCGrass is that it is privately owned by the same two brothers that established the business when they saw an opportunity in the early 2000’s. Being privately owned means that we can move quickly when decisions have to be made in terms of quality or new developments. The artificial grass industry is currently experiencing a trend where companies are being taken over by private equity, which is not always in the interest of the quality. Private equity owners are often only interested in the financial bottom-line, whereas private owners will always invest in the company. Chinese people are driven by their principles and ethics and work very closely together. They also reward their staff very well. I personally know many people working for private equity owned companies that have left their employment because of their unhappiness. CCGrass has, however, managed to achieve every target they have ever set.’

CCGrass Introduce New Yarn Innovations at FSB Show
November 2017
World leading synthetic turf manufacturer CCGrass to announce the introduction of three new yarn additives into their extensive product portfolio
Tumblr media
With a full range of products designed, tufted and backed before delivery into the global sports and landscape market, CCGrass is well placed to understand special situations that occasionally arise. In the development of unique additives that are applied within its yarn, CCGrass now has systems that are designed to cope with excessive heat, bacteria, and static electricity.
Grass Cool – by the application of a cooling additive, yarn temperature can be managed, ensuring more comfort for users in hot climates.
Anti-bacteria – by the introduction of a special additive bacteria found in certain environments will no longer affect the turf.
Anti-static – by stitching additional static resistant yarn into an anti-static backing cloth, static electricity, common in hot, dry conditions, is now eliminated.
Three systems possible due to the extensive research carried out by Dr. Zhao Chungui, Director of R&D, and his team. Dr. Zhao comments: “At CCGrass we have full control over our yarn production, which makes it easier for us to react to customer requirements. In the case of all three additives, these are real problems, we now have answers to.”

CCGrass Provides New Field for National Stadium in Nicaragua
When the National Stadium in Nicaragua needed to upgrade its artificial grass pitch, CCGrass’s Libra 50 system was chosen. For the client, it was important to achieve the FIFA Quality Pro standard, as this synthetic turf ground hosts the national Nicaraguan team’s matches. Working alongside local company partner “Stadium Source”, the project was completed and the pitch passed with flying colors.
The original surface had been laid in 2011 and used for many international and community matches. After removing the old artificial grass surface, drainage work was carried out and the pitch re-graded to ensure it met the exacting tolerances FIFA standard’s demand. A shock pad was introduced and laid over the pitch before CCGrass’s Libra 50 surface was laid.
The system chosen was a considerable upgrade, with the Libra product, featuring a unique shaped yarn that offers excellent resilience, durability and a soft feel, and a stronger PU backing.
Sand and SBR infill was applied and closely regulated to ensure even distribution before the synthetic turf field was fully tested and certified.
After its first match, one player commented, “It feels like natural grass, all is wonderful.”
A staff from the Federation Nicaragua of Football added, “The field is very good. We hope to have more opportunities with it.”
The field is the first to reach FIFA Quality Pro in Central America.
CCGrass is the world’s largest manufacturer of synthetic turf, with over 30 million square meters produced annually and installed in over 100 countries globally. As one of 6 FIFA Preferred Producers, CCGrass meets the highest standards in manufacture and ensures its worldwide partners are fully supported in every installation.

CCGrass Launch New Backing System for Improved Recyclability
CCGrass Launch New Backing System for Improved Recyclability
November 2017
Tumblr media
World leading synthetic turf manufacturer, CCGrass announce the introduction of the new PRT® series backing system.
Around the world, over 1000 artificial turf football pitches are disposed of annually, and can’t be fully recycled due to either latex or PU secondary backing coats. This has seen many fields go to landfill sites or simply be stored for later disposal – an unacceptable situation for future sustainability.
To address a problem that has vexed companies for so long, world-leading synthetic turf manufacturer, CCGrass, has developed, tested and now introduces a new backing system into its product range. The PRT® series allows customers to install new turf that, thanks to a specially designed backing material, means the entire carpet is now fully recyclable.
At the same time, significant improvements in drainage and tuft lock are achieved, whilst the now lighter rolls are easier to transport and move during installation. A real win, win product.
PRT stands for Permeable, Recyclable, Tuftlock. With good reason, too.
Permeable -The PRT® series has been specially designed with porous backing, allowing water to drain through the backing evenly and quickly - 5 times faster than previously. Regular products add drainage holes through the latex or PU coating, and these can easily become clogged, resulting in poor drainage and eventual infill contamination. The new PRT® series also prohibits weeds growing through the back and infill seeping through drainage holes.
Recyclable – The entire turf roll, including fibers and PRT® series backing, can be easily lifted at end of life before being fully recycled.
Tuftlock - Special techniques, employed in the production of the PRT® series backing, ensure individual tufts bond better, creating improved tuft block. As a result, the PRT® series is particularly suitable for intensive use, whilst also keeping its good looks for longer.
Dr. Zhao Chungui, Director of R&D at CCGrass explains: “The advantages of the new type of turf can be found across its lifetime. Long before it is recycled easily and safely, the new lighter PRT® series products offer easier and more cost-effective transportation and installation, and then other benefits, such as improved porosity and stronger tuft lock kick in.”

CCGrass Provides New Field for National Stadium in Nicaragua
CCGrass Provides New Field for National Stadium in Nicaragua
Tumblr media

CCGrass Announce Plans for a New European Company
Tumblr media
November 2017
Nanjing, China– World leading manufacturer of synthetic turf, CCGrass announce they are currently in the process of establishing a European based company, to further serve existing customers and to increase sales into other parts of Europe. Company officials have already signed documentation for the new company, trading under the name of Altime Sports & Leisure GmbH, and expect the company to become official later in November 2017.
This will be CCGrass’ first overseas office and marks a significant move to establishing a closer connection with its strong European customer base.  Mr. Qiangxiang Wang, CCGrass General Manager, believes the logical progression for CCGrass is to be closer to one of its main markets, and that the opening of the Frankfurt office was inevitable. “Europe is a key market for us, but the time has not been right for us to establish a base there, until now. We see opportunity and growth ahead, so to fulfill our aims of working closely with our customers, offer the best possible products and service, we need to physically be in the market.”
The new offices in Frankfurt am Main are expected to be opened before the end of 2017.
Initial focus will be on developing new markets, with existing customers still served directly from the head office in Nanjing.
The new company will be managed by Bryn Lee, previously Managing Director of TigerTurf EMEA and Global Business Director for Bonar Yarns. Bryn commented: “CCGrass has a winning culture based on detailed client focus, strong customer service and an unrivalled product offering. This is what we will be looking to replicate in the new European office. Recruiting the right people is essential, and that, together with establishing the new office will be my short-term targets.”

The Cutting Edge of the Modern Mall
Competition is growing in the management of malls. With so many new facilities rising all around, you have to constantly be creative to stand out today. One great area of opportunity is with holiday decorations. An amazing setting that is fun for families to visit will cause them to talk about it with their friends and result in an increase in visits to your property. The sky is often said to be the limit but perhaps it’s time to look closer to earth.
Bring the Green
Seeing grass indoors is a unique experience, one we don’t have everyday. Bringing something from the outdoors, indoors to your mall can be just the refreshing experience your patrons would enjoy. It is well know that if your space is comfortable, patrons will stay longer, and longer visits results in better sales for your tenants. Adding a real lawn indoors is incredibly complex, not to mention expensive. Synthetic grass on the other hand is inexpensive and can be reused for more than one arrangement and lasts for many years. Modern artificial lawns are much more realistic looking compared to astroturf from years ago. With a wide variety of blade types and colors, synthetic grass is a comfortable and easily cleanable material that can be used in a wide variety of settings.
Seasonal Foundations
From an Easter Bunny house to Santa’s Workshop, artificial grass can be a foundation for many seasonal theme areas. A wedding pavilion could draw the attention of brides to be and have a natural outdoor feeing thanks to a synthetic lawn. The colors of modern artificial grass are tuned to make an extremely realistic natural grass appearance. In
Tumblr media
wintertime, an indoor “outdoor style” area can be created that would provide a fun place for kids. With dense padding below an artificial grass, it is easy to make a safe area for guests of all ages to relax in. Synthetic lawns and grasses can also be easily cleaned, to further improve health and safety. Artificial grass can be used in window displays to create a summertime feeling any time of year. Synthetic lawns are a great backdrop when displaying outdoors furniture and products. Artificial lawns are a great asset for hunting and sporting goods stores to show off products in a much more natural setting than a typical tile floor. Anywhere that you may have carpet is a possible candidate for an artificial grass upgrade, the possibilities are endless.
Focusing on the Grounds
Another area that is often unexamined are the grounds surrounding your mall. Replacing a traditional lawn with an artificial lawn can reduce your grounds maintenance costs dramatically. Synthetic grass is low maintenance and reduces the need for vast amounts of water to maintain a lawn. Artificial lawns also don't require chemicals for fertilization or pest & weed control. This creates a safer environment for your employees and guests. Contact your local building supplies provider and ask for CCGrass or contact us directly to develop a custom lawn for your needs.

St Regis Langkawi goes green with an artificial grass roof
A modern trend for buildings is installing a green roof. This is not always feasible, as there are many requirements to supporting a living roof. A better option for many buildings is using an artificial grass roof. An artificial grass roof offers many of the environmental and aesthetic benefits of a living grass roof without the expensive maintenance. The St. Regis Hotel at Langkawi installed an artificial grass roof from CCGrass and they are delighted with the results.

Trending Green
The living green roof has recently resurged in popularity. Green roofs help to reduce the heating and cooling costs of a building and help to add valuable square footage. Unfortunately there are many requirements to a true living roof such as structural reinforcement of the building to support the weight of water saturated soil & sod, adequate drainage & sprinkler systems, difficulties in mowing, fertilizing and off season maintenance. Modern artificial turf offers an alternative that avoids these issues. You can increase the usable space of a building without adding extra maintenance tasks.
A Modern Approach
Modern synthetic grass is quite different from the neon green astroturf of yesterday. With a wide variety of variable colors and blade shapes, modern artificial grass can be tailored to your specific project. New synthetic grasses appear natural even from a short distance. Specialized padding and base layers can adjust the feel of an artificial turf surface to be perfect for anything from a FIFA Certified Football Pitch to a relaxing area for sunbathing and cocktails. Synthetic lawns are great for poolside areas and can improve safety by offering a less slippery surface compared to traditional poolside tile. New soft artificial grass blades combined with safety padding layers make it easy to create safe play areas for children. This is not a one size fits all synthetic surface, but a customizable building material that can be adapted to fit the needs of many diverse areas.
The Care and Feeding of a Synthetic Lawn
Artificial grass is an extremely low maintenance building material. Synthetic turf products are easy to install and require very little care. A traditional lawn requires proper watering, drainage, fertilization, mowing, trimming and pesticide & herbicide treatment. Synthetic grass eliminates the need for all of this costly and often toxic care. By eliminating the need for immense amounts of water, polluting lawn care equipment and toxic chemicals, an artificial lawn has a very healthy environmental footprint. Many areas of the world are rationing water use, by choosing to install an artificial lawn property owners can protect valuable water supplies and eliminate the expense of lawn irrigation. The St. Regis Hotel at Langkawi have appreciated all of these benefits.
Seeking New Materials
Many real estate developers are looking to go green and improve the environmental footprint of their buildings. Offering modern artificial turf as an additional building material is an easy way to simplify the complexity of building projects and reduce their environmental impact. Suppliers of building materials are often looking for new products that improve on the old materials and techniques used previously. The humble artificial grass is back and now offers innovation and style that is well beyond the old astroturf. Perhaps it is time to take a fresh new look at modern artificial turf.

An unlikely friend in the fight to prevent global climate change
Climate change is affecting everyone living on planet Earth. Each year it seems the news is filled with increasingly dire stories about how temperatures are becoming more extreme and environmental changes are impacting humans and animals alike. Frequently the impact is felt much more intensely in certain regions compared to others. Even worse is that some global leaders doubt the science showing that humanity is having an impact on our shared climate. Considering all of these factors, we all have to make an effort to reduce our impact and improve the environment.
Missing Green
One common element of nearly every first world neighborhood is a lawn. It is such a ubiquitous part of the 2.5 kids and a white picket fence dream that its absence is striking. Many communities are experimenting with xeriscaping but often the key missing element of a lawn is too much to bear. One often overlooked alternative is artificial grass. Most likely an image pops into you mind immediately with that phrase; a bright green roll of thin plastic imposture grass, something no where near what a true lawn looks like. Much like every tool and material in our modern world, the humble artificial lawn has evolved too. Modern artificial grass is made with varying colors and varying shapes of soft plastic that look significantly closer to a real lawn.
The Cost of Green
Having a real grass lawn has many unseen costs, both actual and hidden. The largest expense of a true lawn is clearly the water required to keep the sprawling grass alive. This has both a real cost, in the price of water which seems to be steadily climbing and the impact to our water reserves. As we consider on going climate change, water has become scarce in many communities due to reoccurring and persistent droughts, this is unlikely to change quickly. Other costs to a growing green lawn are the chemicals that are needed to fertilize it and protect it from pests and other invasive species of plants. These chemicals have a direct cost but also a hidden cost in the painful diseases that can be caused by their use. More and more, cancer and neuro-degenerative diseases are being connected to these chemicals. Not only to they effect the grass they are
applied to but they persist in the runoff water that caries on to our storm drains and water supplies. Artificial lawns avoid all of these upfront and hidden costs.
Going Green
Going green with a synthetic lawn is easier than you think. Many communities are offering a water saving allowance for homebuilders who design new homes to conserve natural resources. Artificial grass can withstand far more extreme weather than a traditional lawn. Flooding, drought, irregular temperature changes, and many of the other effects from global climate change are of no impact to an artificial lawn. Another great benefit are the time and conservation savings from no longer needing to mow your lawn with polluting equipment. Contact your local building supplies provider and ask for CCGrass.

The grass beneath your pet’s paws
It is rare that we consider the ground beneath our pets. In most passing moments, it not something that crosses our minds. Take a moment to consider what is beneath them when they are playing, resting, and perhaps most importantly, when they are reliving themselves. A common dog park might seem like a fun and relaxed place but microscopically it is a war zone. Sure, as pet owners we all try to be good and pick up after them, but that is rarely sufficient.
 Shared Spaces
Often we have our children playing in the same yard where our pets run free and take care of business. Is the lawn truly clean? With an artificial lawn it could easily be cleaned and we can sleep easier knowing that their shared play area is safe. Synthetic grass is anti-bacterial and will not absorb bacteria or other toxins from pet waste. From a simple hose down to an intensive scrub with a detergent or disinfectant, artificial grass is easy to clean and can be cleaned far more thoroughly than a traditional lawn. In a public space such as a pet hotel or dog park, a synthetic lawn is a sound investment in the health of all who use it.
 New Synthetic Grasses
Modern artificial grasses have evolved significantly from traditional astroturf. Today synthetic grass comes in a wide variety of colors and even blade shapes which make it much more realistic looking. There are many other benefits as well to an artificial lawn, such as no need to mow, reducing the impact to those with sensitive allergies. Synthetic grass will never need pesticides, herbicides or fertilizer, keeping toxic chemicals away from the pets and people who enjoy relaxing on the lawn. Another great environmental benefit is that artificial grass needs no watering. With so many demands on our water resources today, eliminating the need to water a lawn is a huge savings both financially and environmentally.
 A Green Future
Artificial grass is the perfect ground covering for areas that have a lot of pet activity, especially in public spaces. Synthetic lawns are much easier to clean after dogs and other pets have done their business. Artificial grass is not an attractive home for bugs,
fleas or other insects, this helps to prevent dogs and other pets from picking up unwanted passengers on their fur and skin. With minimal effort needed to care for an artificial lawn, grounds keepers can reduce costs and offer larger areas of comfortable green space, both inside and out. CCGrass is a premium manufacturer of artificial turf systems. They can tailor a grass specific to your needs, with custom padded base layers and a wide spectrum of natural colors and a variety of blade shapes. An artificial turf system can be custom made to keep you, your pets and your children comfortable and safe all year round. Contact your local building supplies provider and ask for CCGrass.
