Don't Hang Up
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• Youngbin + Reader
• Genre: Fluff, Angst with a Happy Ending
• Words: 1.2k
• Warning: language
Summary: Youngbin is suddenly all cold to you for some reason, and you are determined to find out why and make things right once again.
Tumblr media
"What's that, Y/N? Why all the hurry?" your sister asks laughing when you end up dropping your bag for the second time as you walk to the door.
"I have to go see Youngbin," you answer, hands picking up the bag once again.
"Your dear Binnie? You're addicted, you know," she teases.
You blush.
"Stop it. I don't even call him 'Binnie'..."
"Oh, you don't? You can't trick me, girl. You do call him that. I've heard you doing that enough times while you were speaking to him at odd hours."
"Hey! Do you eavesdrop my phone calls?"
She shrugs her shoulders.
"What can I do if I also stay awake till late and the walls are so thin?"
You are blushing a deep tone of red, but you decide pretending you aren't is a good idea.
"Anyways! I've gotta see Youngbin!"
"So you are really going to see him, huh?"
"Stop laughing! I will," you cross your arms across your chest. "Is that a crime?"
"In no way. Please, go see your Binnie," she smirks.
Shit.
"Yes, I will!"
You leave the house and enter your car, a smile lurking through your lips. Your sister could be a little annoying, but the teasing didn't bother you that much if you were being honest with yourself. No, it would be impossible. You have been just too happy the last couple of months to really care. Heck, you couldn't even remember a happiness bigger than the one you were living with everyday now.
You speed up, humming a feel good song as you navigate through the city streets. Soon, you put your phone on the speaker and call Youngbin. Silence.
Weird. He always picks up right away... You call him again, and he finally answers on your third or fourth try.
"Binnie, why didn't you answer?" you chuckle and smile to yourself. "Anyways, let's hang out today? I'm already on my—"
"Y/N," he cuts you, his voice tense. "Today is not a good day for that. Go back home," and then he hangs up.
What? Kim Youngbin never hangs up on anybody. Ever.
You dial his number again.
"What?!" he asks annoyed. "I'm in no humor to put up with you right now. Give me a fucking break!"
And then he hangs up again.
Tumblr media
You come back home holding your tears. You are very, very hurt, but above all, you are confused. You have never seen Youngbin be rude to anyone before, let alone you. What was going on?
You enter the house being as silent as you can so not to bring any attention to yourself and lock yourself in your room. You pick your phone and dial Dawon's number, Youngbin's friend and also coworker.
"Hello, Y/N?" he says as he picks up.
"Hey, Dawon."
The phone goes silence for a few seconds.
"Are you alright? Your voice sounds shaky..."
"To be honest, I'm not, Dawon," you sight, trying to keep your voice stable this time. "Youngbin has just been weird. Do you know if anything is going on with him?"
"Oh," you hear him say, his tone not as bright as usual. "I know what it is."
"You do?!" you hold tight onto the phone, as if doing so is going to bring the answer sooner to you.
"Yeah," he confirms. "Today Youngbin hyung got fired, Y/N. Didn't he tell you?"
"F-Fired? He didn't say a word..."
Dawon sights.
"Yeah, he was. They substituted him with someone younger and with a 'fresher outlook'," he explains in a sad voice. "He wasn't the one who told me, though. It was all gossip. Everyone in the office would only talk about this this afternoon."
You look at the window with a frown in your face, thinking about how your boyfriend must be feeling right now.
"Thanks, Dawon. I'll figure something out."
Tumblr media
In the next afternoon, you go to Youngbin's apartment and come in using the extra key he keeps under the rug. You are someone who absolutely sucks in the kitchen, but you think it is worth it trying to make a few sandwiches, right? At least you know you can't burn them.
The sun is already setting when you finally hear the door being opened. You go hide in the bedroom right away, peeking through the slightly opened door.
Youngbin enters the apartment wearing a suit, his expression tired. He has probably spent the whole day looking for a job, but you don't know with how much luck. You see him going to the joint kitchen and hold your breath. He makes a surprised face as he sees the sandwiches and the juice jar carefully organized over the white towel on the small wooden table.
"How—" he blinks confused, but doesn't take long to devour everything. Wow, he was probably very hungry. You wonder if he has even had lunch today.
The man goes to the bathroom and closes the door, and you hear the sound of water flowing a few moments after. You leave his room at this moment and go back to the kitchen, where you wait. It is almost torture having to sit still like that, but you do it.
When Youngbin finally emerges from the small corridor, he looks confused at the living room, and you wouldn't really expect something different. He is wearing the clothes you had separated and put over his bed, a comfortable set of sweatshirts and sweatpants. There's no way he's not weirded out by now.
You sight, afraid of his reaction, but you don't give yourself time to hesitate. You walk silently to him and hug him from behind.
"Binnie," you sweetly say to him.
"Ah!" he turns to you, expression completely shocked. "Y/N? What are you—"
You hug him again, this time facing him. You hold him tight, your arms around his waist.
"Don't say anything. I've came to cheer you up, okay?" you whisper to him and take a step back. "Go sit on the sofa. I'm going to make you some popcorn and—"
Youngbin pulls you by the waist to a warm hug.
"You don't say anything," he whispers softly. "Don't take care of me like you have done something wrong. You haven't. I have."
You say nothing. You simply didn't know how to answer.
Youngbin caresses your hair.
"I'm sorry," he says. "I'm the worst boyfriend ever."
"No, you were just stressed out that day, baby. That's it."
"That's no excuse, Y/N," he lets go of the hug and places his hands on your shoulders, his eyes looking deeply into yours. "I'm sorry," he repeats. "I'm sorry for how I've treated you, for what I've said... Put up with you?! Never! You are not a burden, you're a blessing! And if anything, you are the one who has to put up with this idiotic me, the one who needs to have a break," once again, you hold him tight against you. "I-I love you, Y/N, and I don't want to ever lose you," he lets one of his hands touch your face. "Can you forgive me?"
You smile and delicately dry the tears in his eyes with your fingers.
"I already have."
Youngbin gives you a kiss on the forehead and intertwines your fingers together.
"What about we make that popcorn? I'll watch whatever movie you want."
You laugh, heart now beating lightly in your chest.
"Alright. But now that you've said it, you can't go back on your word, okay?"
He smiles and places an arm over your shoulders.
"I wouldn't dare."
Summary: you receive a surprise midnight visit from your boyfriend and take care of him till morning.
Tumblr media
You scrolled your feed one last time and put your phone away, tucking yourself in bed. The covers were warm and nice and you sighed in content, sleep rapidly approaching you.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock in the room and you opened your eyes startled. There was a shadow in the window.
At first, you thought about screaming, but you didn't. Instead, you got up and got close to the glass. You sighted in relieve and opened the tall window.
"What the hell are you doing here at this hour, Youngkyun?"
Your boyfriend sniffed.
"Can I come in?"
You pressed your lips together, noticing for the first time the tears in his eyes. You wasted no time then.
"Of course!"
You helped him get in and then closed the window again. You took him by the hand, making him sit on your bed, you by his side.
"Did something happen, Young?"
He sniffed again, looking away.
"They've done it again, Y/N."
You froze. You knew very well how Youngkyun's parents could be harsh, even mean to him. You took his hand in yours, holding it tightly.
"What happened?"
"They... they've said I'm a waste of space. Useless. That if I wasn't born they'd be in much better shape," the boy shook his head. "That they could've even been able to own a decent house if I wasn't there to ruin their lives," tears were running down his face nonstop and you could do nothing but look. Your heart felt like ripping apart.
"Youngkyun," you said. "Look at me," he did, his eyes visibly moist even in the dim light. You took his face in your hands. "You are important. You are special. You are worth it. Do you get it?" he tried looking away once more, but you didn't let his face go. "Don't let them get to you," you said, your voice a little softer now.
"It's just... it's so hard!"
"I know, I know," you let your fingers run through his eyes, drying them little by little. "They're unhappy, you know? But not because of you," you told him. "Your parents are miserable because of their own decisions and you've got nothing to do with that."
"I'm not sure about that..."
"Young," you got closer to him, your faces now only a few inches apart. "Think about the people you've met outside of your house. Think about all your friends, everybody who loves you, me included. We love you because you deserve to be loved, uh?" you pressed a delicate kiss in each of his crying eyes. "You do. You are amazing and I wouldn't want any one else to be by my side other them you."
Youngkyun started crying even more, but this time it was different. He really did seem to get how wonderful of a human being he was, how much he was loved by you and all your friends. He hugged you tightly and you did the same in return, giving him little pats in the back every few seconds.
"It's alright, it's alright."
You have no idea how many minutes you spent in that position, but at the end you were both calmer and warmer in each other companies. After a long time, Youngkyun let go of you and sat with his back against the wall.
"Come here," he said.
You let a small smile spread in your face and did as he said, sitting between his legs and letting your back rest against his chest. He kissed you briefly on the lips and put his arms around you.
"Thank you for always being here for me."
You looked up, sleepness threatening to take you away any time.
"I'm the one who has to thank you for having you in my life."
Your boyfriend chuckled, eyelids feeling as heavy as yours.
"Let's just agree to us both thankful."
You smiled and looked at him for the last time before closing your eyes for good.
"Alright then. Let's agree to that."
Tumblr media
The sound of the door opening made you whimper. You didn't want to wake up, you were just too comfortable for that.
"Y/N, did you see the... what the hell?!"
You opened your eyes, seeing your mom at the door.
"I don't-" you stopped mid-sentence, remembering that Youngkyun was still with you. "Oh," you nudged him slightly and he woke up as well.
Hearing the commotion, your father and younger sister ran into the room, expressions as confused as your mother's at seeing the boy in your bed.
"Guys," you chuckled lightly. "This is my boyfriend, Youngkyun."
You explained the situation to your parents and twenty minutes later you were all having breakfast at the kitchen. To be honest, your parents knew you had a boyfriend, but they've never really taken it seriously. They've always thought it was just a silly high school romance with no real seriousness at all. Well, looking at the way you and Youngkyun looked and took care of each other, they seemed to have changed their mind now.
"You can come whenever you like," your father told your boyfriend.
"Yeah," your mom agreed. "Think of here as your home."
"Thank you so much," he answered shyly and when he looked back at you, you smiled. Without words, you told him this place was in fact his home. He chuckled. "You are."
The smile you gave him in return was so large you thought the corners of your mouths could rip apart. And you didn't care one bit.
"What did you say?" your mother asked.
"Don't worry about it," you told her with a grin and kept eating.
Under the table, though, Youngkyun's fingers were intertwined with yours.
Warm and Cozy
• Zuho + Female Reader
Summary: a sick you is taken care of by your brother’s best friend.
Tumblr media
Your socks are soaked inside the sneakers, and it is the worst feeling ever. You are an idiot for sure. You've thought "I'll be back in a second, won't even need to put on any boots."
Right.
As if exclusively to laugh at your face, the sky had darkened and snow had started falling in abundance, both on your way going and returning. The three whole blocks.
You shake the green bag to get rid of the excess snow and enter the house, almost immediately dying of a heart attack.
"Goodness!" your hands go to you chest. "Juho, what are you doing over there in the dark?"
"Oh, hi, Y/N," he stands from the couch. "I know the door password, you know... I was waiting for your brother, but went in because of the snow. The power went out like five minutes ago."
"Oh," you stay still, not knowing exactly what to do. Embarrassingly, your body decides to cough at this moment. "So... make yourself at home."
You turn and start going up the stairs.
"You went out in those sneakers?"
You turn around slowly. Did he really have to continue the dialog? It was hard for you to look him straight in the eyes.
"I did."
Juho's forehead frowns.
"These days have been snowy. You could've got yourself a cold. Still can, actually."
An uncomfortable silence falls between you.
"I wasn't gone for long. I had to go to... buy some stuff," you weren't really going to explain to him you've gone out on a desperate mission to get some tampons.
You cough.
"Hmm."
Another silence. As you are kind of a coward, you take the opportunity and just start going up the stairs again.
You cough once more and enter your room.
Tumblr media
Once again, you cough. You are looking through the window, seeing the snow coming down nonstop from the grey sky.
"Y/N," you hear Juho's voice from the corridor.
"Come in."
"Your brother said all the roads are closed due to the blizzard, so he won't be able to come home any soon," he says while opening the door. "So I'll be waiting he... Y/N, are you alright?"
You cough.
"Why do you ask?"
"You... look pale."
"I have a little headache, nothing more."
The older boy takes one step further and to your surprise, rests his hand on your forehead. You can feel chills from his touch.
"You're burning up," he looks at you serious. "Burning up."
"Eh... it's nothing," an inconvenient cough gets in the way of your argumentation.
"Right. You're coughing since you got home. You shouldn't have gone out in sneakers."
"I was already coughing yesterday though" you mumble, trying to defend yourself.
Juho sighs.
"Lay down."
"What?" you ask.
"Lay down on your bed. You need to have some rest."
You cross your arms stubbornly.
"I won't lay down. I don't need it."
He makes a frown.
"Come on, it'll be better for you."
You sigh, tired of arguing.
"Just fifteen minutes."
"Alright," he nods. "Fifteen minutes."
Tumblr media
You open your eyes confused and the first thing you see is that familiar pair of beautiful sharp eyes.
"Feeling better?" Juho asks.
You sit yourself up slowly.
"No. I think... worse."
The boy presses his lips together for a moment and then lays you down again gently over the bed. He puts his hand over your forehead.
"I think you really have a fever."
You felt like hitting him. Did he really have to be so close? Your disillusioned younger sister's heart who have fallen for her brother's best friend was pounding hard.
"I guess so," you don't know what to say.
Juho sighs.
"I'll get you some medicine downstairs. Oh, and just so you know, you've slept for almost an hour."
"But..."
The boy leaves the room. Why didn't he wake you up? It was supposed to be only fifteen minutes...
You contort under the covers. You were feeling so cold.
"I'm back," Juho enters the room and comes up to you with a pink pill and a glass of water in his hands. He kneels down next to your bed. "Can you sit up?"
You sit with a bit of a struggle.
"Here."
He offers you the objects and you swallow the pill. Your body was shivering.
"How long will it take to work?" you ask.
"Well... I think some forty minutes."
"Forty?" you repeat horrified.
Juho stares at you.
"Are you in much pain?"
"I am, but... I'm very cold," you say quietly.
The boy nods.
"Do you want me to get you more blankets?"
"There are no more. They're all in the laundry."
You lay yourself down again embraced by the covers. It was still freezing and you were trembling.
"You...," Juho pauses. "Do you want me to warm you up?"
You blink, not sure of what you've heard.
"What?"
"You don't need to if you don't want to," he says rubbing the back of his neck. He had turned his eyes away.
"Won't it bother you?"
"No... won't it bother you?"
"Oh," you close your eyes for a few seconds. "You can... can come up."
He shakes his head in agreement and climbs into the bed. Your body proceeds to freeze, and in the other meaning.
Juho lays down and wraps himself around you, holding your body with his warmth. The fear your heart could be heard all the way from Antarctica right now was very real.
He speaks suddenly.
"Do you want me to leave?" the boy asks in a worried voice.
"There's no need," you force yourself not to stutter. "It's nice..."
Tumblr media
There was a hand.
It was caressing your hair in a very pleasant way. It was slow, but far from being lazy. You hold the body next to you a little tighter.
Wait.
Wait a minute!
You open your eyes carefully and see the black color of Juho's cardigan. Were you holding him while you slept?!
"Are you awake?"
You get startled and look up to his face. There's a little smile in there. You take a little too many seconds to answer the question because of it.
"Yeah," you simply say.
"Are you feeling better?"
"I a-am."
Juho resumes caressing your hair. Unconsciously, you adjust yourself onto his chest. You then realize what you were doing and immediately move away. Why were you like that?
"Don't be embarrassed," you lift your head and see a gentle smile on Juho's lips. "I'll take care of you today."
"Why... why are you doing all of this for me?" you ask.
"Isn't it the right thing to do?"
"It... well, it isn't really your style."
"I—" he starts and doesn't finish, and your eyes go wide. Were you really seeing that? The distant and introverted Baek Juho was... blushing? "I really like you, Y/N," he pauses, and you can't believe the words leaving his mouth. "You don't need to feel the same nor are you obligated to do anything... but for now, can I take care of you? I want you to get better soon."
If your eyes were wide before, they are now almost jumping out of your face.
"That's not true. You're lying."
"Why would I lie?" he asks. "If it was like that, I wouldn't have said anything in the first place."
"But... but... you've never looked at me."
Juho gives you a small smile.
"Because I was trying my best not to look. I'm not... very good at romantic relationships. I didn't want you to end up finding out on accident. But as I said, you don't have to do anything, don't worry."
You stare at him intensely, not knowing what to say. He looks away, his red cheeks adorable at your eyes.
You impulsively turn his chin to you and give his lips a little peck.
"Oh!" you blurt out, realizing what you've just done. "I'm so sorry, I forgot I was sick!"
Juho laughs. He laughs a sweet and delicious laughter.
You look at him a little confused.
"It's okay. Let's not kiss for now," he pulls you back into his arms, holding you firmly. "Don't worry," his smile is dazzling. "We'll have plenty of time to kiss later."
You return his hug and rest your head on his chest, blushing like crazy.
"You can take care of me," you look into his eyes shyly, but surely. "And not just for today."
Juho smiles, and as they say, the rest is history.
Rivalry
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kim Seokwoo. A tall and handsome guy by all means. Beautiful smile, friendly and with great habilities both academically and physically. Humph. It all doesn't change the fact that he's my enemy at the courts.
Since I was little I've always loved volleyball. So after insisting to my mother for months, I started attending classes for it twice a week. Through time and dedication, I've become one of the best among the students and decided to take part on championships, so I entered the school's official team at 13. Kim Seokwoo was part of it.
He was, and is till this day very good. I used to look admired at his serves and sets. I wouldn't speak much to him back then, but now we speak every championship, and a lot. Why the change? Well, because he became my enemy when he left our school at 15 and started playing for another team. Besides the historic rivalry between our schools, he and I are the best players of our teams, making a rivalry be born between us as well.
I take a deep breath and tie back my hair. Today's matches would be tough. First we would be playing against Han River High. Afterwards, against FNC High, where Seokwoo studies.
I leave the female locker room and walk to the courts. At this moment, I hear a familiar voice behind me.
"Well, well. If it isn't Y/N?"
I turn around and force a smile.
"And if it isn't our school's traitor?"
Seokwoo smiles at me.
"No need to get all angry just because your team's best player left, Y/N."
I laugh.
"Best? I'm still right here."
"Keep deceiving yourself and being cocky," he replies.
"The one who started bragging was you," I start getting away. "If you'll excuse me, I have a match to win."
I turn around and smile to myself. For some reason, whenever we talked I would get all joyful inside.
After warming up with the rest of the team, we enter the court and start playing. By the half of the match, I notice Seokwoo analysing me from the bleachers. What is he...
The boy winks at me, leaving me completely flustered.
Out of nowhere, the ball falls in the ground right in front of me and I jump in place. Damn it, I was distracted! All my teammates give me a death stare.
"Sorry, guys. It won't happen again."
In the end, we end up winning 3 sets against 1. My team isn't mad at me anymore by then.
Well, but I am mad. Mad at that annoying of a Kim!
I drink some water and then go directly to him, who was still on the bleachers. I don't try hiding the irritation in my voice:
"What do you think you were doing? You disturbed me on purpose!"
Seokwoo gives an annoying smirk.
"Actually, it wasn't on purpose... but it would have been a good idea if it was..." he laughs a little.
I narrow my eyes.
"Prepare yourself, Kim Seokwoo. I won't have even an ounce of pity for you in our match."
His smile doesn't waver.
"I don't need to prepare myself, then. It's only you."
My desire to punch him right in the face is big, but I control myself.
"We'll see."
And I left the bleachers.
FNC's game against Seoul High starts half an hour later and I watch it. They win all the sets and Seokwoo smiles sarcastically at me from afar. I decide to ignore him and I cross the street to get some lunch at the mall.
At 4pm I've already warmed up and am ready for the match. I take a deep breath, wishing my parents were here to see me. There's no way though. They are busy working.
Well, that's not important now. The important thing right now is to not falter and win against that cocky boy.
Both teams enter the court and go to their positions. I walk up to Seokwoo and offer him my hand.
"Good luck," I say.
He laughs, not believing me for a second.
"Right. For you too."
I grin.
"No, really. You'll need it."
I get back to my team and laugh at the face he makes.
The game soon starts.
Both teams are very good, so the match is really balanced. We're already on the 5th set when I suddenly feel a strong pain on my head. The last thing I remember is falling to the ground.
...
Suddenly Jinwoo, who was new at Seokwoo's team, hits the ball right on Y/N's head. What was his problem?!
The match stops and him, the judge and the girl's team make a circle around her, who was unconscious. Seokwoo feels dispair grow inside him.
"She needs to go to the infirmary! What now? How are we to keep playing without her?"
The boy from her team looks very upset. What? Was it only with the game that he was worried with?
"Calm down," the judge says. "You've got your subtitutes, son."
He shakes his head.
"But is not the same thing, sir! Y/N is our best player. How are we going to defeat FNC?"
The man sights.
"It's life. Unexpected things happen. Now, someone please take this girl to the nursery before her or myself lose it!"
No one from the audience steps up. Was she alone?
Damn it.
"I'll take her."
Both teams as well as the public look at him surprised.
"You?!" the judge asks.
"Yes," he replies.
"But you know your team will have to replace you, don't you?"
"I do."
Seokwoo gives him a bitter smile and lowers himself, taking Y/N in his arms and bringing her to the nursery while ignoring his team's outraged looks. Once they arrive, he explains everything that happenned to nurse Choi.
"So, will she be okay?" he finally asks.
"Calm down, boy. Don't speak so desperately," she says and starts examining Y/N, who suddenly starts moving. The woman smiles. "She will be up soon, darling. Don't worry."
Seokwoo sights in relief and looks at the girl for a few seconds. He places the strands of hair which have escaped from her ponytail behind her ears, away from her forehead, which was moist from sweat. The boy unties her hair afterwards so that she feels lighter and smiles.
Y/N starts moving a little bit again and he decides to leave the room. She would probably not want to see him when she waked up...
...
I open my eyes and see myself laying on a litter at the nursery.
"Hello, darling," the nurse smiles at me.
"I-I—"
"Were hit in the head with a ball? Exactly. How do you feel?"
I put a hand on my head.
"A little dizzy, but I think I'm okay."
"What about the pain?" she asks.
"It's not that bad."
The nurse smiles again and writes something on a paper, which she gives me soon after.
"These are the prescriptions. If you get any worse, go to the hospital immeadiately, okay?"
I smile and agree.
I stay at the nursery for one more hour resting. I also try not to worry too much about the game's result. I fail.
After this restless resting time, I walk to the door, but I stop, remembering something.
"Nurse Choi," I turn around and look at her. "Who brought me here? My parents weren't there."
She smiles.
"Well... it was writen "Seokwoo" in his uniform."
I blink.
"Oh. Thank you."
I leave the room astonished. Kim Seokwoo? Why would he miss the match with such a big advantage in his team's favour just to help me? I don't get it...
I pass by a corner in the school, which was almost empty by now, but stop in my tracks. There were two boys having a heated argument. I see one of them push the other and decide to get closer. I'm shocked at what I see. The two guys were no other than Seokwoo and FNC High's newbie, Jinwoo.
"How could you do that on purpose?!" Seokwoo asks.
"Dude, we were taking a chance to lose!"
"That's no justification!" Seokwoo practically growls. I've never seen him furious like that.
"Come on! You two hate each other. What's the deal?!"
"I don't hate her, you—!"
The two guys start going at each other. In the beginning, I'm too shocked to do anything. Did he just say he didn't hate me? Did he...?
I snap back to reality and run to them.
"Stop!"
The two boys get apart and stare at me surprised. Seokwoo walks to me and I see Jinwoo running away to somewhere through the corner of my eyes.
"Y/N, I—"
"Shh," I look at the boy in front of me. "Your lip is bleading."
Seokwoo puts his fingers over his mouth.
"It's alright, it was just his punch. I—"
"It's not alright. Come here."
I take him by the wrist and tell him to wash himself. He does it, and I check to see if there is still blood running out. There isn't. I take a relieved breath.
"There."
I was about to leave when he touches my wrist.
"Y/N, are you alright?"
I look at him surprised.
"Yes, I am. Hmm... thank you for taking me to the nursery."
He places his hand behind his neck and blushes slightly.
"Don't worry about it. It was nothing."
"Nothing?!" I gasp. "You left the game to assist me!"
"I... it was no problem," he blushes a little more.
I shake my head.
"You would probably have won easily without me there."
"Well... let's just say my absence balanced things out," he says.
"But you didn't have to do it!" I stop, realising I didn't know how it all have turned out. I look at him. "Who has won afterall?"
Seokwoo shakes his head.
"Your team."
My eyes grow wide.
"What about now?" I ask. "Do you regret having left to help me?"
"No," the word leaves his mouth surely.
"W-What?"
He smiles a little shyly.
"You're more important than a game."
I look at him astonished and he returns my gaze. Slowly, he gets closer to me and stares at my lips. I look at his too. The little bruise over there only makes me want even more to... Wait up. What was I thinking?!
"Seokwoo—"
Suddenly, he kisses me and I close my eyes right away, returning his sweet touch. After that, we walk hand in hand to the exit, in silence. Once over there, he gives me a kiss on the forehead and grins.
"Don't you think just because I like you I'll take it easy on you at the championships."
I chuckle.
"Great, because I won't either."
I wink at him and take the bus home, the piece of paper with his hastily writen phone number inside my pocket.

Gold Digger
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• Zuho + Reader
• Genre: Angst
• Words: 2.6k
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You entered the hall filled with the extravagant melody of violins and cellos together, arms tangled on his. Everybody was staring while you two walked down the stairs. Some stares were of approval, other of the complete oposite. You didn't care, though. The only opinion which mattered to you was Juho's.
"Mr Baek," a woman in her fifties with a elegant hairstyle approaches you. "I'm glad you came."
"Of course," he smiles. "I would never miss your charity dinner."
They start chatting and your mind drifts away. You had a mission tonight, and you wouldn't go home until you had fulfilled it.
Shit. You didn't even know how you'd manage to do it. He might hate you forever...
"I found your dress to be very beautiful, miss...?"
You turn your attention to the host.
"Y/N. Thank you very much," you smile and look briefly at your own body. The red dress outlined your figure with grace and liveliness. You'd never been so beautiful, you thought.
To be sincere, Juho was the one who gave it to you. You could never have payed for something like that, not to mention all the jewelry and professional makeup you were also wearing. Before, this was everything you've ever wanted. This life, all this luxury... well, but now it meant nothing to you.
"Make yourselves comfortable," the host bows slightly and moves away.
Juho touches your face.
"Are you alright? You look a little absent-minded."
"It's nothing," you fake a smile. "Let's just sit down."
He agrees with a nod and you go look for the sits reserved for "Mr Baek". It doesn't take long and you find them.
"Mr Baek! We ended up in the same table, isn't that great?" a man asks as you sit down in front of him.
"Yeah, great," Juho's eyes say something else... He doesn't notice, though.
"Won't you introduce us to your companion?" the woman next to him smiles.
"Ah. Mr and Mrs Yang, this is Y/N, my girlfriend."
You greet them with a little leaning of the head.
"She's lovely," Mr Yang says. You could almost taste the falsiness in all that talking.
"For how long have you been dating?"
"Six months. We completed six months last week," Juho answers proudly. You can't help but smile a bit.
"Hmm, interesting. I heard you didn't come from any of the great companies," Mrs Yang remarks with pretended casuality.
You would usually retort, but not anymore. You knew you were as fake as those people. Actually, worse. Because you pretended to be sincere.
Your glare crosses with Juho's. He seems to see the pain in your eyes.
"Thank God," he lets out and stares at the Yangs coldly. "I wouldn't want to involve myself with people like you."
Silence follows.
"What did you say?"
"I think you understood it perfectly, Mr Yang. Y/N is way superior to the kind of people you two are."
"No one treats my fami—"
"Don't pay attention to him, honey. Let's just go. This event isn't worth our presence."
The two of them get up and get away mumbling in between each other.
You turn to Juho. Little did he know that you deserved his cold, harsh words too.
Still, your heart got warm seeing him defending you like that. When the subject was Juho, it was always like that: your stone heart would melt completely.
"I love you," you say without thinking.
The boy widens his eyes.
"I-I—"
"Hi! We are sitting on this table too," a friendly couple interrupts you, sitting next to you. You two smile back at them, giving end to your conversation. Soon the dinner starts been served.
For the next one hour or two, an awkward mood sets in between you and Juho. You didn't talk to each other. You would just focus on the seafood in your plates and sometimes chatter with the other couple.
You had never told Juho you loved him. Ever.
He had already done it plenty of times, but you'd never answer. You didn't dare to. How could you, when you didn't deserve to love him, didn't deserve to have his heart? Tonight, though, your heart had spoken on its own.
This was just so wrong. He was completely handed over to you... but your relationship was an illusion. Well, at least it had started as one.
But you couldn't take that lie anymore.
You get up from your chair.
"Juho, can we go outside for a bit? I need to talk to you," he looks at you and gets up too, following you in silence to the mansion's garden. You stop in front of some flowery bushes. "Juho, look I—"
He puts his hands on each side of your face and gives you a brief kiss.
"Thank you, Y/N, thank you," he says, eyes looking lovingly at you.
You look back confused.
"For what?"
"For everything. Loving me, having entered my life..."
Wow. With the lie's weight on your stomach, you had even forgotten about your confession from earlier.
"You don't have to thank me for anything, Juho. The one in debit here is me."
"Nonsense. You appeared in my boring and repetitive life and completely lit it up. I know I've said this a million times, but I want you to be sure, to know every minute how I feel: I love you, girl."
He takes you by the waist and gets your body close to his, joining your lips together. You forget everything then. There's no room to think, his warm mouth being too much against yours. There's only room to kiss him back, and you do.
Juho tilts your body and you smile against his lips. He would always do that. There was no one who kissed like Baek Juho. The way his hand grabbed your dress's fabric on your back, the other hand tangled in your hair...
You hug his pale neck as he starts playing with your tongue. Ah... he could go broke right now and you wouldn't even think for a second about abandoning him... Oh!
The memories flood your mind and you part your lips from his.
"What's the problem, Y/N?" he looks at you calm, hand still on your back.
You sight and let go completely from his arms.
"I can't take it anymore," you stare deep into his eyes. "I need to tell you something, Juho."
7 MONTHS BEFORE
"So? Will the energy really go down?"
"Trust me, Y/N. Have I ever let you down?" Inseong says with a mischievous smile on his face.
"Ok, ok. I just want everything to work out."
"You're elaborate, aren't you? You've planned everything detail by detail."
You grin.
"Of course. It's going to be my livelihood for the rest of my life."
"Well... I wonder if I should be helping you at all. Are you sure you can take lying for the rest of your life?"
You immeadiately frown.
"Don't go judging me, Inseong. I don't have any degree or something and refuse to live in such a mediocre manner for the rest of my life."
"Damn. Ok, then. I'll go on with my "mediocre" eletrician life while you wear Prada and deceive yourself."
"Seong, that wasn't what I meant. I—"
"Don't worry about it, Y/N. There, I've finished," he closes the eletric board and gives you some kind of remote control. "Press this red button and it will all happen just as you so well planned."
You were about to say something, but he leaves through the front door and gets in his car first, getting away fast.
Okay, you probably shouldn't have said that to him...
All your guilt vanishes when the bell rings, though. That's it, Y/N. You can do it.
"Juho," you say smiling as you open the door.
"Oh, hey," he bows. "Here it is. I'm so sorry to have kept your watch. I don't even know how it ended up in my backpack, to be honest," he scratches the back of his neck.
You smile, taking the object in your hands.
Of course he didn't know. You were the one who put it in there on purpose during your Highschool class reunion last week. It was a wonderful plan, wasn't it? You just had to write your name on the back of your watch for Mr Heir to come look for you.
"Don't worry about it," you smile. "Maybe your backpack was open and I ended up letting it fall into it when I took it off to go to bathroom or something."
Or maybe you took advantage to put it in there when he went to the bathroom...
"Oh, it doesn't matter. At least you have it now, right?" he smiles. "Well, I've got to go. We'll see each other a—"
"No, no. It would be very rude of me to just let you go like that."
"Hum?"
"Come in, Juho."
"I really have to—"
"It will be very quick. Just a coffee?"
He sights and smiles. He seemed reluctant. You hoped his personality didn't end up screwing everything up. He was already reserved like this back in school days...
"Alright. Just a coffee."
You smile and pull him inside.
"You can wait on the couch. I'll be back with the coffee in a second," you say and go to the kitchen. Once there, you take the remote from your pocket.
You take a deep breath. Now was the time. You press the red button and the sound of energy and lights going out echoes through your small house.
You hear Juho's voice.
"Y/N, did something happen over there?"
You come back to the living room.
"I think this sound was of a power outage. I won't be able to heat the coffee up..."
"It's okay," Juho gets up from the sofa. "I didn't want to bother anyways. Thank you for everything, Y/N. I'd better be on my way now."
"Okay," you pretend to be a little disappointed and walk up to the door with him. You put your hand on the door knock and pull it down. The door doesn't move. "Uh-oh."
"What is it?"
You look at him.
"The door unlocks automatically from the inside. It's an... eletric door."
"Are you saying... we can't get out?"
"Yeah?" you lower your head. "Wait a second. I'll call the power company."
"Ok."
You go to your room and wait a little until you go back into the living room.
"They said the problem it's from a little far away from here," you tell Juho.
"Alright. And how long will it last?"
"They couldn't really answer that."
You smile internally. It would last until something brewed between you two.
...
And it did. You admit it, you had to force it a bit, but in the end you got the future Han River Corporation CEO to ask you out. Well then, you went out, and one month after that he asked you to be his girlfriend. Everything was going according to plan... until you began feeling very happy, and not for the reasons you had thought you would be...
"Are we watching something today?"
"Sorry. Not today," you take a sip from your juice. "I'm going out with Juho today."
Inseong's smile disappears.
"That's all you do now. You don't have time for me anymore."
"Don't overdo it, Seong."
"I'm not! You spend so much time caressing Juho's ego you don't even hang out with me anymore."
"We're hanging out now."
He shakes his head.
"Oh, really? That's only because you needed my damn help to install your new TV given to you by dear Juho! You only think of yourself, you know? Playing with two men's hearts and don't giving a shit."
"Stop being so dram... Two? Two men?" you look at him without understanding.
"Yes, Y/N! Two. Stop playing innocent! You know very well I've been crazy about you since forever! You know what? I'm sick of enduring your egocentrism in silence!
You were in shock.
"Seong, I—"
"Don't touch me!" he takes your hand away from his shoulder. "When you decide to be a good friend, look for me again."
And with no more words, he leaves through the door, only the heavy shadow of what he said remaining in the room.
You were still crying when Juho arrived to pick you up. You had completely forgotten about it.
"I think it's better if we don't go out today," you say through the intercom when he rings the bell.
"Why?" he asks through the other side.
"I think I'm sick. Bye."
"Wait up! Is that a crying voice?"
You don't answer for a second.
"No."
"Y/N..."
"Good night."
You get away from the door and throw yourself back into the couch.
But your phone rings. Nice.
You answer it.
"Who is it?"
"You haven't checked it, have you?"
You take your phone off from your ear and check the name.
"Juho, we can talk later, ok?"
"Please, Y/N, tell me what's the problem. It's hard to see you so down."
You close your eyes and sight. He would probably never go away until you said something. You open the door.
"Juho, I—"
You're caught off guard when the boy flies to you, holding you tight.
"You don't have to say anything. I'm here with you," at that moment you can't take it anymore. You break down in tears on his shoulder, even though you knew you didn't deserve his comfort. "Shh," he caresses your hair. "It is all going to be alright."
Why were you such a fool? You ended up telling him about your fight with Inseong and letting him comfort you, distract you. You were a fool. You ended up letting him stay, letting yourself go by his cares. You were a fool. You ended up letting yourself get to know the real and wonderful Baek Juho, ended up making love with him that night. You were a fool. You endep up falling for him.
.
Juho listened to your story until the end in silence. You'd have prefered if he had yelled at you. The silence, always so comfortable between you two, was now unberable.
"Won't you... say anything?" you ask uncertain.
"What do you want me to say?" his voice leaves his mouth in a whisper. When he lifts his head and his eyes meet yours, you see silent tears. "There's absolutely nothing to be said."
Another silence. You knew you were completely on the wrong, but a little bit of hope insisted on shining in your chest.
"Juho, I love you for real now. If you left everything and all your money, I'd still follow you."
Slowly, very slowly, he takes a step your way. Your heart jumps, anticipation killing you inside. He takes your chin in his fingers and lifts it, his eyes seeming to spark. At last, he dives in and joins your lips together. At first, you thrill at his touch, but it doesn't last. You soon realise it wasn't his usual kiss. No. It wasn't sweet, not even a bit. It was agressive, indelicate. There was love, but there was also hate, regret and broken heart.
It was your last kiss.
"It's too late now. The woman I used to love, the woman I though was different from everybody else doesn't exist. I hope I can get rid of these feelings soon, though I doubt it," he laughs dryly. "I'm such a fool I'll probably keep loving you even if I hate you."
He takes one step back, tears shining as they go down his cheeks.
"I meant it, Juho," you say and hold his arm desperately. "I love you for real now."
He takes your hand off gently.
"Go find another rich man with whom to play, Y/N."
And just like that, he turns around and leaves your life forever. Midnight had arrived. The insignificant Cinderella's prince was gone.
The sobs almost prevent you from speaking, but even so you shout out to night, hoping he was still close enough to hear:
"I'll always love you, Baek Juho!"

Together
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• Jaeyoon + Reader
• Genre: Fluff, Angst
• Words: 1k
• Warning: no smut, but a bit of sex related language
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were kind of shy. Him, the sweetest boy in the world. Through some unbeliveable luck, you ended up together. And there were you one year later, holding a positive pregnancy test in your hands.
You wash your hands with a sight and leave the bathroom. Your eyes are wet when you sit on your bed facing reality: you had to tell your parents. A coffin should be prepared for you, because you were most certainly dead.
You walk down the stairs trying to figure out how to tell your parents there was a human being growing inside you now. Forget it. There was no easy way.
“Y/N,” you hear your mother’s soft voice. “Why the long face, darling?”
“Hum, I want to speak to you and dad.”
“What have you done?” she looks at you suspicious. “Got a low grade?”
You wish.
“That’s not it… Where is dad?”
“In the kitchen. You won’t tell me what it is, darling?
"I’ll get him. I want to tell you both together.”
“Alright, then.”
You go around the sofa and open the kitchen door. It was Sunday, so everyone was at home. Your father was doing the dishes while he listened to something in his earphones, Michael Bublé, probably.
You get yourself closer.
“Dad?”
“What?” he turns around and takes his earphones off.
“I have something to tell you and mom… It’s important.”
“Right now?”
“Yeah.”
He sights.
“Fine.”
You return to the living room and he follows you, sitting beside your mom on the yellow couch. You kept standing.
“Spit it out, darling,” your mom says. “Don’t worry. If it isn’t your grades, it surely isn’t any big deal.”
Oh, she had no idea…
“Well,” you take a deep breath. “I’m pregnant.”
Your parents don’t move for what seems to be an eternity.
“What did you say?” your father finally asks.
“I… I’m pregnant,” you stare at the floor, but you could still feel their sharp look over you.
“It’s your boyfriend’s? That… Jaeyoon?” the calm in his voice was fake, temporary. You knew him way too well to know that this was only the calm before the storm. You hug your own body.
He would soon explode.
“Yes,” you answer quietly.
“Well,” your father continues. “I’m not going to support some brat that shouldn’t even exist. We already struggle enough trying to make ends meet. You’ll have to get a job and take care of the baby by yourself.”
You look at your mother, but she kept silent.
“What about my studies?”
“Studies?!” the storm had arrived. “You should have though about that before going out sleeping around!”
Tears form in the corners of your eyes, threataning to fall. You expected him to be angry, but not that he would be so harsh. Why was he talking like that?
“D-Dad—”
“I thought you were still a child, but it’s quite the opposite! I’m not supporting even you now!
"B-But I’m only 16.”
“Really? Doesn’t matter a bit to me. If you’re old enough to have sex, you’re definetely old enough to support yourself. You’re an adult!”
“Honey—”
Your father looks at your mother with a deadly stare, making her shut her mouth immeadiately.
“I don’t want to see you in this house anymore, Y/N!”
“I-I don’t have where to go, dad. Please—”
“If you want help, go ask it from the one responsible for this!” he points at your belly. “Go pack, ‘cause in one hour time I’m gonna cast you out myself if you haven’t already left!”
“I can get a part-time job!” you say in dispare. “I can—”
“No. Just go. I won’t be changing my mind, girl!.”
You were already staying at your best friend’s house for a week when you decided you had to leave.
“Have you gone mad, Y/N? You can’t just go wander around by yourself like that!
"My mom gave me some money in secret. I can get by for some time with it.”
“What about after that? That’s insane. You can’t leave!
"I’ve already bothered your family way too much,” you make way for a few more jeans in the suitcase. “I can’t stay.”
“No! I’m telling you, where would you go after that? To Jaeyoon’s?
You stop mid-action.
"I… haven’t told him yet.”
“What? Until now?! You’ve been avoiding him at school all week, but you can’t do that forever! He’s your boyfriend!”
You sight and let go of the clothes you were holding.
“I know, Subin,” you look at her. “But I’m so scared.”
She hugs you tight, her right hand rubbing small circles on your back.
“It will be alright, Y/N. It will. Afterall, it’s Jaeyoon we’re talking about. He loves you way too much to leave you just like that.”
“I-I don’t know,” you place your head on her shoulder. You can’t take it anymore. You can’t. “I don’t know, Subin,” you burst out crying. That was basically all you’ve been doing since last week.
Crying.
Another week passes. Subin manages to convince you to stay a little longer, but cannot do the same about telling Jaeyoon. You kept ignoring and avoiding him at all costs.
It was Friday and you were walking down the school hall towards the exit when you were suddenly pulled into the janitor’s cupboard.
“Hey!” you protest.
The lights lit up and you see Jaeyoon. Sweet, old Jaeyoon. His hair was messy and there were dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadn’t been sleeping well.
“We need to talk.”
“Why?”
He laughs without humor.
“Maybe because of the fact you were kicked out of home and are pregnant?”
Your racing heart stops.
“H-Have Subin told you?”
“Thankfully she did, 'cause by you I’d probably never have known.”
What?
Fear holds tightly into your throat and refuses to let go. You could already see the end…
“S-Sorry, Jaeyoon. I was terrified and…” you shake your head. “That’s not your responsibility.”
You look at him a little shakey, waiting to be scolded.
But the scolding never came. Jaeyoon pulls you to his chest and buries his face in your hair.
He sights.
“Are you fool, Y/N? You don’t have to be afraid… No… don’t. I’m not going to leave you if that’s what you’ve been thinking. Besides, of course it’s my responsibility. I’m the father!”
“I’m s-sorry, Jaeyoon. I—”
He holds you tighter.
“Don’t say sorry to me. Ever. You’ve been going throught very tough times, and all by yourself. You are the one suffering the most… I know. Don’t you do that anymore. I’m here, Y/N and I promise I won’t leave so easily. Let me help you carry this burden,” his voice goes lower, whispering in your ear. “I love you, and you being pregnant doesn’t change that even a bit.”
“Jaeyoon!” you return the hug with tears falling down your face. You drown in his arms, feeling safe for the first time in weeks. His hair… it smelled like home.
He keeps caressing your hair for a while. When you part, he looks you in the eyes and gently dries them with his fingers. Not a drop was left on your cheeks.
“We’ll do this together, okay?”
You smile and nod.
You would.

The Actor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
• Rowoon + Reader
• Genre: Fluff
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Good morning, Y/N."
You open your eyes slowly and see a smiley Kim Seokwoo standing in front of you. You can't help but smile back.
"Good morning, Seokwoo."
"Miss."
You look at the makeup artist who is applying blush in your face.
"Sorry. I promise I'll stay still," you turn around back to him. "We'd better talk later," you smile softly.
"Don't worry about it. It was my fault. I was the one who interrupted your makeup," he smiles sheepshly. "So... see you on set?"
The boy moves away and you come back to closing your eyes. You two were the protagonists on TvN's new drama and haven't know each other for long, but he was always the gentleman and a complete darling. That was good. Many actors who got famous quickly like him weren't that humble.
The makeup artist finishes her work and you check the script one last time. The first scene you were recording today was the one in which the female lead almost gets shot by Mr Kang's two henchmen, but is protected by Seokwoo's character. You had to show your fear without fail.
"Let's start, guys," the director calls.
You enter the gloomy alley set and the actors who played the henchmen follow you. Seokwoo just watches in the corner waiting for his turn. He was wearing an open black overcoat over a cream sweater. He really suited the protagonist's sofisticated clothes...
You look at the director.
"Ready."
"Right. 3, 2, 1... Action!"
"Leave me alone! Why are you following me?" you say angrily.
"You know why, Ms Min. You know too much and we can't just leave you hanging out there."
"Don't you see? I'm going to give the press all the evidence one way or another. You can't stop me!"
"Can't?," A half-hearted smile grows on the henchman's face, who takes his hands out of his pocket. A gun turns in his hand. "You sure, darling?"
Your legs go week, but you don't let yourself falter.
"You can't simply kill me. How are you going to hide the crime? My boss knows exactly what I'm investigating right now."
"Ms Min," the other man smiles. "If Mr Kang has gotten away with everything until now, why would one little more stain like your blood make any of a difference?"
You go one step back, your back touching the alley's brick wall. They get closer. You run with all your might, shots whizzing in the air beside you. But the alley was too long. There was no way you could make it.
Your teeth quiver and you stop, surrounded.
"See?" one of the men laughs and points his gun directly at you. You curl up against the wall terrified. "You don't have were to—"
A shadows flies over you and covers your figure with theirs. Seokwoo's body presses you lightly against the wall, leaving few space exposed. His cheek touches yours.
"Don't worry," he whispers. "We are going to make it out of this."
"Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing?!"
Seokwoo turns his face to the henchmen.
"Hello."
"Kang Jinho?!" they exclaim with surprise.
"Exactly," he smiles. "Now get the hell out of here."
"We're not leaving until we have the girl dead. Your father's orders."
"Really?" Seokwoo replies calmly. "Great. Shoot."
Silence follows. The men try to find an angle to shoot, but Seokwoo's body wrapped way to well around yours.
They couldn't take the risk to hit him.
"Fine!" one grunts. "But don't you think it's over. You are going to pay for poking your nose into other people's business, Ms Min!"
And then they go away running.
"Cut!" the director yells. "Excellent, excellent! Let's do it one more time just in case, hu?
Seokwoo embaressedly unsticks his body from yours. His face is red as fire. He bows to you and returns to the corner of the set. You are a little short of breath while you observe him, his warmth lingering in your body.
"Y/N...? Y/N...? Y/N?!"
"Hum? Oh, yes, director! I'm sorry."
"Let's begin, ok?"
"O-Ok," you complied.
. . .
You let out a small sight. Since that day you just couldn't take Seokwoo out of your head. Even if it had all being staging, you... you just didn't know.
But once you felt his hug and his chest against your back, the wrapping of his breath on your neck... things were... different.
You've been acting for years and years and have paired up with lots of different actors as a couple, but none of them has ever affected you like he did that day. You must have gone crazy, right?
"Good morning, Y/N."
You jump a little bit and turn around. Speaking of the devil...
"Hi, Seokwoo," you smile a little embarassed.
"The filming finally ended, right?" he smiles. "I hope our drama becomes succesful."
"Oh, definitely!"
You pretend to be happy, but it was definitely the opposite of what you felt inside. You were devastated. After today, when would you be able to see him again? Hard to tell.
"Well" he offered his hand. "It was great working with you, sumbae."
You take his hand and squeeze it lightly. It was so weird to think about. With that same hand he had held your hand, hugged you tightly and held your face to kiss you. But fiction is fiction, right?
You force a smile and let go of his hand.
"You really have a talent for acting. It was great working with you too... Seokwoo."
A smile spreads along his full lips.
"Thank you, Y/N" he bows. "Goodbye."
The boy moves away, his backpack jumping after him. His soft hair and angel smile left with him, leaving you only with longing. He was precious, unique. Where, you wondered, would you find a soul as beautiful as his in this world?
Yes. You probably wouldn't.
"Seok... Seokwoo!" you yell impulsively.
He turns his body around and turn back his steps. He looks attentively at you.
"What's the matter, Y/N? Any problem?"
"Yes," you look into his eyes. "You."
"M-Me?" he asks confused.
"Yes, you. You... don't leave my head. I just can't get you out; and at this point... I-I don't even think I want to," you stop for a moment, biting your lips nervously. "It may seem precipitate, but... will you go out with me?"
Your cheeks are burning. You can't look him directly in the eyes.
The silence only makes things worse.
"Is this for real, sumbae?"
"Hum, yeah," you say, a graceless laugh escaping your mouth.
"This is no prank, is it?"
You look at him confused. Your face seemed to be corroding with anxiety.
"No, I'd never make this kind of pr—"
"Yes!"
"What?"
"Ah," Seokwoo touches the back of his neck and clears his throat. "Yes, I'll go out with you" he says more chill.
Your eyes grow and you smile embarassed, a warmth of delight spreading all through your body.
"You... where do you want to go?"
"It d-doesn't matter to me."
Your heart can't help but skip a beat. His shyness was adorable.
"What about we go get some dinner together tomorrow night?"
"Sounds good," he smiles, his hands nervously playing with his own fingers. "Actually, I'm quite surprised. I didn't know you had any insterest in me."
"Well, I too doubted I would be reciprocated. I acted by impulse, you know?" you smile.
"But I've always kind of had a crush on you," he says softly. "Even before knowing you, seeing you on TV and stuff..."
"O-Oh."
They remain in silence, both red as tomatoes, the two looking at each other from time to time, but soon looking away.
"Y/N! Seokwoo!"
Startled, you place your hand in your heart. Within that intimate moment you have completely forgotten you were on set — or even around other people, for a matter of fact.
You lift your head.
"Y-Yes, director?"
"There was a problem with the video of the last kiss scene. Would you mind if we rerecorded it right now?"
You and Seokwoo remain quiet for a little too long. You look constrained at each other and mutter an answer to the director, splitting each to your dressing room to get ready.
The staff gives you a yellow spring dress and apply your character's basic makeup, all this time you being a nervous wreck about the scene waiting for you. You had kissed Seokwoo before for three scenes, but this one... this one was going to be different.
It may not be acting.
"Are you ready, Y/N?" the director knocks on your dressing room's door. "Seokwoo is waiting for you."
You try not to freak out. That sounded like it had another meaning, though the director was clueless.
Ready? You were definetely not, not ready.
But you put a smile on your face and go to the kitchen set.
You take a quick look at Seokwoo. His rosy lips seemed to shine, warm and inviting.
You swallow hard.
Right, you had to do it. You were a professional. A professional.
"Action!"
"I feel sorry for everything. I'm not lying," you say crestfallen. "If you don't want to ever see me again... I'll understand."
"No."
You frown.
"No?"
"Yes," Seokwoo takes one step towards you and holds your arms. A secret shiver runs through your spine. "Don't say that, don't say none of that to me. If you denounced them, I don't care. I know how monstruous my family can be when they please. You did what you had to as a news reporter."
You hold your breath.
"You don't... resent me?"
He smiles softly.
"Sometimes what is right may hurt, but it doesn't stop it from being right," he pauses. "So please don't go to America. Stay."
"I—" the sentence dies in your mouth. Your character didn't know what to say.
"Stay here. Here with me."
You look suprised into his eyes.
"I... I don't know if I should. I don't want to hurt you more than I already did."
His arms slide down your back in a gentle caress.
"But what hurts me even more," his fingers run through your hair and his eyes lock on yours. "Is not having you beside me."
Everything is so fast. The next second you are in his arms, his breath touching yours.
"M-Mr Kang..."
He smiles.
"Do you want it?"
"I—"
"Do you want to be by my side?" you don't answer. "Hum?"
You stay a few seconds in quietness.
"Yes," you whisper, and he smiles a heart melting smile.
This was the cue.
You look at the dephts of Seokwoo's eyes and don't feel like Ms Min; you feel like Y/N, just Y/N. And the man you were going to kiss was the sweet Kim Seokwoo, not the protagonist Kang Jinho.
You were you two, just you two.
Your mouths colide and embrace one another in a slow kiss. You hold tight into his shoulders while you give yourselves away to each other. His mouth was warm against yours.
"Cut!"
He hugs your waist and brings you closer. It was good, very good.
"Cut!" a distant voice calls your attention, and you remember were you were. You immediately part from Seokwoo. "Didn't you hear me speaking?" the director giggles. "It's alright. The kiss turned out long, but I liked it. It even felt real. Well, let's get going! Good work, guys! We've all made a great drama!"
You look at Seokwoo and he looks back at you. You two blush and smile accomplices, your secret hanging in the air.
