You know something I’m curious about, for those who’ve seen or read JPITV -
When did you figure Mr. Smith out? I’ve seen some people saying they never trusted him, some people who didn’t realize until the line and some who were in between. I’m just curious about when it was for this site.
#i knew what i was getting into when i read it and then watched it so#but i do have to say. the script directions of beth “beaming” and how she “totally blooms” when mr smith complimented her drove me crazy#and even though i did know what was gonna happen i like to kid myself and pretend i dont#and i think the point it really was just undeniable to me#was when shelby said that whole “i'm really smart [...] you've told me i am mr smith remember?”

i've been thinking about ivy a lot recently, specifically about just how Happy and just full of life she is in the first few scenes, compared to how she is for the rest of the play, post-dad reveal. She is so drained and you can just TELL how isolated she feels from the rest of the girls, and how unsupported she is by literally every authority figure around her. just. UGH
