A complaint

I wish more of the door encounter characters had like. Actual roles in the story and actual apartments they live in. Because in gameplay the most you’ll think of them is “oh yay it’s this guy” or “oh no it’s this guy”. It would be nice to be able to have more personality from em, like they did with Harriet

You know that rare event where Sam can just murder himself with a knife and have eyes come out like the wounded guy and all the onlookers. I wonder what causes that to happen because Sam hasn’t looked outside but still it happens. Does just physical contact with the onlookers cause this to happen if you believe it enough? Very interesting. Also I need a au Sam where he becomes a onlooker from this

Realization

I remember when I made a post that was dumb hypotheticals. And one was “in grinning beast form if you put something in her mouth. And she transforms back to normal. Where would the item go”. And now with all we’ve learned together about Leigh being awful in grinning beast form. I do not want to imagine where the item ends up now

I wonder what it was like for the Visitor to discover earth. Imagine your walking around a store (space) and suddenly a little glint (Sybil) from a lava lamp (planet) intrigues you to look at it. Little do you know your breaking the lava lamp bit by bit just by staring at it. You are completely unaware of this as you were just staring at the cool lava lamp. And suddenly one of the globs fucking floats out and tells you everything. Yeah I would fucking book it too

Very different kind of post than I usually do but the topic interested me so here we go!

Now in wake of that awful anon who cannot stand trans people without having a hernia apparently. There is a topic that interested me. It’s how Frankie managed to make the only (or at least most overt) queer character Lyle, and not make him offensive at all.

Now first reason

I think the reason it doesn’t come off as offensive or trying to make fun. Is because Lyle isn’t a stalker or creep because he’s queer. He’s just a stalker and creep because he is! And happens to be queer. That’s a very important distinction.

Now second reason

Another reason is this game doesn’t have one of those annoying moments of “oh yeah and I’m [insert any lgbtq]” like the bad ones do. Which i think more stories and movies should do as well, like yeah these people do exist and you don’t have to bring it up as the best representation is when you don’t even have to bring it up and they just are and are treated like a normal person, also with flaws! Another issue is that they don’t give flaws to characters like these…Lyle is a fucking stalker so yeah he ain’t good. But still good rep of not liking him for being a stalker and not because he wants to fuck Sam.

Anyway that was just my thoughts. Fuck that one anon still tho

Most critical thing I’ll say about this game.

I did not care for the planet discs like. At all. I dunno it just didn’t really feel that fun to do really. And some of them are kinda weird of “oh you didn’t look hard enough? Sucks for you go search harder around the apartment building now”. And even just like world building wise why did this apartment complex decide “yeah for security? We need planet discs! Nothing else tho”. Just thought it was a little weird.
