The Queen has signed it. Here’s a bundle of sources about it all if anyone needs them. First link from 20mins ago: 1 2 3 4 5 6
UK people, please read unless you want your privacy stripped from you.
The Investigatory Powers Bill has snuck through Parliament during the U.S. elections’ fallout and has been passed. It’s currently awaiting royal sanction which means it’s not too late for the British public to speak out.
To those not in the know, this bill allows multiple government organisations to hack and read data without even knowing if the citizen is up to no good. This basically loosens up the usual complex police warrants that are complex for a fucking reason. ISPs are also forced to store the top-level domain for at least a year, but I would’ve assumed they’ve been doing that anyway. I’m more scared of having my rights for privacy (that’s in both UK & EU human rights acts) stripped from me.
The petition to repeal the act is here. If you guys thought the spying in the adverts on apps like Angry Birds was bad, and if you thought Windows 10′s spying habits was bad, PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION (if you’re British of course). If you care so much about your privacy to call those two out, TAKE ACTION NOW. If your voice doesn’t get heard, it won’t count, like what happened during Brexit and the U.S. election.
Should this bill pass, I will post different ways to bypass the UK’s snooping.

I FOUND THIS IN SOMEONE'S RULES, AND IT'S RELEVANT
I like to know my writing partner. This isn’t always necessary, and if you’re not the sort of person who tries to get chummy with their roleplaying buddies, that’s absolutely fine, but in my experience, the plots and characters that last the longest are the ones with the players that I can message at 3 in the morning with an idea without feeling like I’m bothering them.

His little optimism soon faded from his face, and Vigor was left silent. Marcurio had a troubled day, but to suddenly go silent to suddenly was a step beyond. He seemed distracted, and Vigor was at a loss as to why. He turned to Keerava briefly to try and gauge an answer from her face, but it didn’t help. She didn’t seem surprised with Marcurio though; she clearly knew what was wrong, and he wondered if he would dare ask her about it all later.
Vigor turned his attention back to him. His full attention, and no idea what to say. He tried to think about anything they said earlier that might help now, but there was little left he felt he could say.
Vigor lowered his head down to Marcurio’s level, trying to get eye contact even with his eyes downcast. “You should have an early night,” speaking only as firm as he could mutter. Worrying he’d been too blunt he continued, “been a long day, rest may help...” fading of to a whisper under his breath.
Marcurio’s hands were shaking but as soon as he faintly heard Vigor’s voice, he came back to the present. His eyes were widened and on the verge of tears. He didn’t want to remember what happened, not now. Keerava looked on the mage and shook her head in slight sympathy and annoyance. She made another drink for Marcurio and he took it and chugged it down. He kept his eyes downcast to avoid looking at him.

He wan’t surprised by now at the stranger’s hostile response. Here, he knew not to take her response personally. It didn’t even matter unless he was going to work alongside her.
Vigor listened to Lunsing as he explained the situation. It was clear why Igmar felt bad for this guy. When Lunsing was done, Vigor spoke as carefully as ever. “Where should we find you once we’ve caught him?”
The strange thing was that so far it seemed like a normal bounty hunt to him. Vigor had only been told so much, and wondered why the man seemed so distressed by one missing prisoner.
“We’ll sort it out, don’t worry.” Despite his worries it didn’t hurt to try and calm the man; he could check the dossier he’d given the woman later. Whether it would be ‘we’ or just himself was besides the point.
“Know where to start?” It was a general question, though directed at the woman, wondering if she’d read the journal yet. Might as well try being friendly even if they seem stand-offish.
Nords: The Bounty Hunters ||with cattledie||
Her head shot toward the door as soon as the man stepped in. With her hand tightening on her bow in instinct, she replied, “The other person he hired.” Trust was not given lightly in the shady business she was involved in, and she assumed the case was the same for the man. It was safest to assume you’d be turned on at some point by others in this line of work, so keeping answers vague was just a form of protection. Or so she told herself; she simply enjoyed being a pain in the ass.
After a few moments, she returned her attention to Lunsing. “Now, what’s this job?” she repeated. It worried her that Lunsing believed two people were necessary for the job, but with how nervous he was and having not done this before, he could be overestimating the difficulty.
“I’m a–a guard from Falkreath,” he began, wringing his fingers together. “I was just put in charge of manning the jail, but someone managed to escape. I need you to find him before the commander finds out. He’ll send me out to watch the road for bandits or dragons! Or just get rid of me!”
He was getting worked up as he continued explaining, and Lea couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. He was young, older than her but still young, and probably couldn’t afford to lose his job.
“I’ll help you,” she said. She couldn’t speak for the stranger, but even if he didn’t want to help, she was sure she could hunt someone down without him. “What do you know about him? What’s his name, where’s he from, does he have family, why was he arrested? I want everything you know.”
Lunsing was visibly relieved and leaned over to dig through the pack at his feet. He pulled out a journal and handed it to Lea. “Everything’s in there. Anything else?”

The weirdest thing happened a few days ago in that my brother decided to give me a smartphone. The phone's free but I cannot honesty wrap my head around why he's paying for the contract. I certainly can't complain, never had a smartphone. Good for taking pictures of the little tiger, that look majestic till you realise he's only on the top of a baby willow tree.

Vigor only grew more nervous as the shack came into view. It could so easily be a trap, and his past would finally catch up to him. But Vigor came regardless. An old contact named Igmar had convinced him to consider making an exception for a friend. He trusted Igmar enough not to be too concerned, but still scouted around from a distance before finally deciding to go in.
He walked in to see another person than he expected. After so many years, Vigor was unsure how to even begin. “Hello? Lunsing?” Too nervous to be formal about it, speaking in little more above a whisper. Lunsing nodded.
Vigor briefly turned his attention to the women, being even more of a stranger to him than Lunsing. “And--- And you?” Speaking with an uncertainty perhaps not expected of someone in his line of work, nervously pointing and he spoke.
Nords: The Bounty Hunters ||with cattledie||
Lea approached the shack with her bow tightly held in one hand and the map Delvin gave her in the other. She trusted Delvin to pass on reliable leads for jobs, but it never hurt to be prepared for some sort of trap. Meeting a potential client in the middle of the woods in a decrepit hovel was not her preferred way of getting a job.
Before entering, she tucked the map into her satchel and bettered her grip on the bow. She knocked softly before letting herself in.
There was a man sitting at the table in the corner; his hands were clasped in front of him, shaking slightly in his lap. His eyes jumped to Lea and widened, full of fear.
“Are you Lunsing?” Lea asked from just inside the doorway.
He opened his mouth to speak but couldn’t form words. It took a few tries before he managed a quiet “Yes.”
Taking a step closer, she asked, “Are you okay? You look like you’re scared shitless.”
Lunsing nodded. “I’m a little nervous. I’ve never done this before, but I’m desperate. That’s why I hired two of you.”
“Two?” she repeated, raising an eyebrow. “What exactly is the job?”
“I’d rather wait until he’s here too.” He added, in a hurried tone, “If that’s okay.”
