Love how Maverick just drags Hondo around with him. He’s supposed to be all alone and yet everywhere he goes - there’s Hondo.

‘Pack up the top secret mission gear, Hondo, we’re going to Top Gun!’

‘Nope, but I’m taking you anyway.’

Iceman is cold and calculated and perfect because he has to be, because deep in his chest hides the secret that could get him discharged at any moment. And he does a good enough job at hiding it, takes home a girl when they get shore leave so no one gets suspicious and feels bad for them when they catch feelings. Lets Slider talk about his own conquests and plays along. Wears sunglasses so no one can accuse him of staring at other pilots for too long.

But then Maverick comes in, and all it takes is one conversation at the O-club for Ice to know: he knows. Maverick sees right through him
