Here i wrote a dumb short story i have no regrets (street fighter)
Yun was deep in thought. It was that kind of thought where you couldn't hear anything around you, because nothing else was nearly as important. He needed to come up with an explanation so he could win an argument.
Like, a full-on week ago, Yun said to that Mexican chef wrestler guy that he only eats Chinese food. Then literally this morning he's minding his own goddamn business eating French toast and Yang - who hadn't even been at the fight where Yun said it – says to him “thought you only ate Chinese food.”
Yun vehemently denied that he was doing anything but, and accused Yang of insinuating that Hong Kong food wasn't legitimately Chinese. Yang pointed out that French toast literally had "Western" in it. Yun said that just because ingredients came from other places didn't mean the dishes themselves weren't culturally native. Yang pointed out that there were no changes to the recipe for French toast. Yun knew he was still right but he'd have to get back to Yang as to why.
He thought he'd determined a reasonable cutoff: pre-1997 handover was Chinese food, anything after (like Cali-Mex) was foreign. But that would mean McDonald's counted as Chinese food, and it totally didn't, so he'd need to be able to explain that away.
As he sat there perched on a bike rack, a shadow blocked his sunlight and a familiar voice broke through his deep contemplation.
“Don't think too hard, bro. You might give yourself a stroke.”
Yun flipped his brother off before looking up.
Yang stood in front of him, blocking the sun, holding a random mangy cat that Yun had never seen before. Like, a really ugly one, super skinny with patches of scaly skin interspersed with tufts of matted hair so dirty that the color of its fur was indiscernible.
“Stop picking up literally every cat you see, Yang. You have no idea where they've been.”
Yang did not appear to even begin to say anything to the untrained eye, but Yun preemptively countered. “I don't care how many times you say cats are clean. They lick their own butts.”
“I'm just taking her to the vet, I've never seen her before.”
Yun saw Yang curling his fingers just a little tighter into the cat, protective of it but really just defensive of his own obsession with cats. It was cute. Nobody else would've seen that but Yun, because Yang would rather die than do something cute. That was another layer of cute. Yun enjoyed lording this over his brother. It was his ancient and sacred right to do so. By virtue of the nine solid minutes he had as an only child on this Earth, he was the Older and Wiser Twin, and could never be cute, but could call Yang cute. Adorable. Precious.
”If you bring fleas into the house again, Grandpa’s going to kill you and I'm going to join in.”
Yang glowered. Without another word, Yang stalked away with his dirty, diseased little friend that he probably found in a dumpster.
Yun tugged his ballcap’s visor down to protect against the sun that once again began to roast him as he watched Yang and his hobo cat turn the corner.
Nothing about the interaction had elucidated any way for Yun to win the food argument. All it did was make him hungry. But what was he hungry for? Fish balls? Char siu?
No, Yun thought–demanded–to himself. He hopped off the bike rack.
It was time for a bubble waffle, because Yun, unlike some people, actually understood and appreciated his native land.

I mean I'm a Mortal Kombat fan so I'm naturally wary when it comes to bringing characters back (although personally I haven't cared TOO much about changes) and introducing them to a whole set of new fans with their own set of rules of engagement (this is only a problem in English for the most part)
Although they're usually exactly the same when street fighter brings characters back, looking at Elena they have indeed aged and that means they've probably had to like get into the family business or stop being lil capri sun skater boys with child interests and then what's the point.
You might say this would all be interesting. It would be, if street fighter even tried to have a coherent story.
As an aside, I actually i wouldn't mind them being the same character slot again like in capcom vs snk 2 or like in alpha, they should just use the different super art choices (if that's still how street fighter works) to switch which one is the main fighter. I'm thinking like Triborg in MKX
Also i do like Yun I'm just joking because i tend to find his fans insufferable
I do wish that Yang had even the littlest English fandom because I love him so much (and Yun too i guess idk)
But I'd probably get cantankerous about baby ytppo takes on him (them) because so much of it for me is Hong Kong, mainland China, and nostalgia
But then again when have I ever refused a chance to infodump about China ...

Man wrestling would be so hype if time stops and the Street Fighter-type Super Art flash effect happened, then the move progressed.
I’d get so into everything.

So I guess my game is coming along. You're (on) a space station, and no one is around to help. You're growing crystals for energy.

I've got to fix up the interface--readability, maybe a light mode, button themes and such--and finish building up the progression gates. But ... it... it's a game.
ISMENE AND THE VOICE is still uploading-- you can read it on Royal Road-- and you can read my zines at junipercalle.com. This project has somewhat shifted my drafting schedule on Quindar the necromancer, though.

This screencap, to my understanding, is part of the concept art lol

I just watched, over the course of a year, a young Street Fighter fan make her way from Jamie to Yun & Yang and from Yun & Yang to Duo & Trowa. It's a pipeline

The Playa Crawler: A Kinetic Walking Chair for Burning Man
In 2017, engineer Mark Ellis designed an innovative kinetic chair called The Playa Crawler to navigate the vast expanse of Burning Man. Inspired by the Strandbeest sculptures of Dutch artist Theo Jansen, this unique chair is specifically crafted to withstand the alkaline terrain of the Black Rock Desert.
Mark Ellis wanted a personal vehicle that was both functional and original for getting around Burning Man. This led him to create a chair that walks using a system of articulated legs. This mechanism, invented by Theo Jansen, allows the chair to move similarly to Jansen's giant sculptures, which are propelled by the wind along the beaches.
Built from laser-cut aluminum and steel, The Playa Crawler is equipped with two electric wheelchair motors, batteries, and is controlled via a wheelchair joystick.
