Danny: You want me to what?
Tim: Give this letter to Batman for me.
Danny: Why?
Tim: I need to tell him something, but I can't give him the option of capturing me.
Danny: But he can catch me?
Tim: He doesn't want you.
Danny: Damn, alright.
Tim: No, sorry, I mean - look, just give him the letter and don't tell him anything about me. Here is 10k in cash. Can you do it?
Danny: For 10K? Yeah, okay.
Ten hours later
Danny: LET ME OUT
Bruce: It's okay, son. We're going to help you get your memories back.
Danny rattling the bars: I'm not Tim Drake. He just hired me to give you the letter!
Bruce: A letter claiming Tim Drake was tired of his life with us and that he was going to become a regular citizen, so don't look for him? Your only involvement with the letter and him is that he paid you to delivery it?
Danny: YES!
Bruce: And the fact you both look exactly alike has nothing to do with this?
Danny: I don't question it. You start questioning stuff and bad things happen to you
Bruce: Bad things like memory loss.
Danny: IM NOT TIM DRAKE. LET ME OUT.
Bruce: Until we know what they did to easrse your memories I'm afraid your going to remain in containment.
Danny: WHY!? I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING
Bruce: You stabbed Jason
Danny: No, he rudely walked into my knife

A Bird's Wings - Part 30
masterpost this is a first draft, please no editing or concrit <3
Danny’s first thought when he woke up in the morning was how rested he was.
It was almost shocking.
He’d been so exhausted for for the past few weeks that to feel rested was a relief that almost made him cry.
Danny’s second thought was about his wings, which he still seemed to have. That was a pretty quick revelation caused by the fact that he was asleep on his stomach. The wings pulled at the sheets as he stretched lazily. At least they hurt less than yesterday at least. He was careful as he sat up, a cumbersome affair with the wings. It basically resulted in Danny getting his legs off the side of the large bed and simply standing up backwards, but at least it did result in him standing.
Grateful for Alfred’s thoroughness, Danny brushed his teeth before taking an awkward shower. He kept to the shower wand only and tried to keep as much water off his wings as possible. Despite the care, he still felt (and looked) like a rain ruffled bird after he had dressed in the modified sweater and a pair of his normal pants. He did what he could to at least tame his hair, swallowed his morning medication, and left the sanctuary of his borrowed room.
“Master Danny, impeccable timing,” Alfred said when Danny came across him in what Danny thought was the foyer. “Breakfast will be served in half an hour in the kitchen. Would you like some coffee or tea to start your day?”
“Coffee would be great, if it’s not any trouble,” Danny said with a bashful smile. He still wasn’t quite sure how to handle Alfred’s uncanny ability to show up and offer his service.
“A standard request of coffee is hardly trouble,” Alfred said in such a way that Danny felt bad for trying to be polite.
He didn’t think that his Midwest manners were going to get him very far in this house. Manor.
Still trying to puzzle out how his life got him into things like this, Danny followed Alfred to the kitchen. Bruce was already there, looking still half a sleep as he sipped on his own mug of coffee. For the moment, the table was children free.
“Cream or sugar?” Alfred ask as he headed towards the counter.
“Cream please,” Danny said. He turned to Bruce and gave a little smile. “Morning, Bruce.”
“Good morning, Danny,” Bruce said, his voice a low, sleepy rumble. (Danny did his best to fight the blush that the tone caused.) “Would you like some help drying off your wings?”
So much for not blushing. “Ah, yeah. That would be really nice. I tried to do what I could, but…”
Bruce chuckled softly. “Completely understandable. It’s a very awkward angle to try and manage.” He set down his mug and stood. “Fortunately for you, Damian is quite the animal buff and I was sent some very extensive articles on caring for wings.”
“Oh gods,” Danny said. The words were muffled by the way he buried his burning face into his hands.
“Damian simply wants the best for you,” Bruce pointed out.
“Sure, but still,” Danny said. He rubbed at his face as he let himself lean his head back and stare up at the ceiling for a moment, “I’m not a pet.”
Danny saw Bruce come over out the corner of his eye, towel in hand, and rolled his head a little to glance at him. He thought it was progress that he didn’t flinch when Bruce reached out, clearly telegraphing his motion, to run a hand over Danny’s wing.
“No one thinks that you’re a pet, Danny,” Bruce said with so much sincerity in his eyes that Danny had to look away. “Knowing how to take care of your wings is the same as making sure that Damian has easy access to vegetarian meals or that the computers at the manor have a dyslexic friendly font installed for Dick or that Barbara can easily get around in her wheelchair. Your wings, even if only sometimes, are part of you. And for better or worse, my family and I seem rather intent to see you well.”
Danny rubbed at the back of his neck as he glanced back at Bruce. “Part of it may be that I’m not exactly used to that sort of attention. I mean, Lucius tries to make me take care of myself, as well as some coworkers, but in Gotham that sort of feels more like new rogue prevention,” Danny joked.
Luckily Bruce chuckled at that. “I am sorry that we’re so overwhelming.”
“No, don’t be. It’s… excuse the bird analogy, but it’s just a very full nest, isn’t it? It feels cozy. It’s just something different to try and wrap my head around,” Danny explained. “And I won’t pretend that I don’t still have issues, as much as it’s something that I’ve worked really hard on personally and in therapy, dying at fourteen leaves a person with some issues.”
Not to mention being a super hero, staying half dead, dying a second time, and all of the other things that went on during his high school years.
“Yes, I would imagine so,” Bruce said after a pause. His voice was soft and sad.
“Bruce—”
“Sorry,” Bruce said. “When Jason was fifteen, we thought he had died. He ended up out of reach and with extensive brain trauma and memory loss. I know how much it effected him. I’m sorry you had to go through something at that age also.”
Danny squeezed one of Bruce’s hands where it was clasped tightly around a towel. “He’s here now. He’s alive and he seems happy. He has a boyfriend and everything. I’m not saying it doesn’t still pull at him, but it hasn’t dragged him to the bottom. At least not anymore.”
Bruce smile was a somber, soft thing. “Thank you. And you’re here too.”
Danny blinked at that. Bruce wasn’t wrong. He didn’t know almost any of the story, but he wasn’t wrong. Wings and all, Danny was still alive. He smiled softly back. “Yeah, I am.”

Survivability Bias Pt 7
Masterpost - Ao3
Danny’s on his morning run when he notices the buzzing in his pocket. He stops short, stepping off to the side of the path, so he’s not in anyone’s way. It’s odd, having a phone again. He’s long since buried his old phone in his backpack. It died weeks ago, and he doesn’t really see any point in trying to charge it, when it can’t fulfill it’s primary purpose. The new phone from Robin is clearly far more advanced. It’s weird, having to use a touch screen, and Danny really hasn’t fiddled with it much. He doesn’t really know who’s paying for the service, but he’d rather not test their patience with accidental charges. So he’s only messaged Robin, and only to respond, on the few occasions Robin has had follow-up questions. Now, he pulls the phone out of his pocket, wondering what Robin needs, but instead of a contact name, the text notification lists a number.
Someone else is trying to call him.
Danny stares at the notification, fear condensing in the fathomless pit of his stomach. He’d known the phone was a risk when Robin had handed it to him. Had understood from the start that it was also a tool to track Danny. But there had been no reasonable way out of it; if Robin was going to make Danny exist, then he had to be able to contact him, for questions, or to let him know when his ID was ready. Sure, Superboy can listen for Danny’s voice, but he can’t exactly message Danny back without coming to meet him, and Robin undoubtedly doesn’t want to have to go through Superboy to talk to him anyways. So he’d accepted the phone, and he’d been careful not to go anywhere weird.
What Danny hadn’t considered, is the notion that Robin might give the number to others. Or, worse, that others might be able to find it (a trail is a trail is a trail). Now, here’s the clear evidence otherwise. Alarms flare in Danny’s head as he reconsiders, counting all the ways in which this whole thing was a terrible idea. He doesn’t have friends to help him here. He doesn’t even have Vlad to fall back on. Anonymity was quite literally his only protection and he threw that away for, what, the chance that he might be able to go to space camp?
Something touches his arm, and Danny leaps back, weight falling onto his back foot and arms coming up as he glares at the person in front of him. But when he pauses to process, the only person in front of him is an old lady who he’s seen around plenty of times before. Great. This is a public space, and there’s other people here, and he just acted like he was gonna fight an old lady.
“I’m so sorry!” Danny exclaims, snapping his arms down. “I just-” Danny fumbles for a moment, trying to think of an explanation that doesn’t sound like an excuse.
“Oh, there is absolutely nothing to apologize for, dear.” The lady says with a smile, even as she takes a half step back. “I touched you without warning; your response to that is your own. I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“Oh...” Danny says. “Okay?” He frowns, trying to remember if he stumbled or something before he stopped.
“Well, you looked at your phone and I thought you looked upset. So when you didn’t move after a minute, I thought you might have... well, I’ve seen that kind of reaction before, and it tends to not mean anything good.”
“Oh, that’s, um. That’s very nice of you.”
“Nothing of it dear! Now, I don’t want to pry into your business, but if you need an ear, or a hug, or just someone to sit with you for a moment...” She trails off. Danny blinks, and glances back at his phone.
“Um, I think- it’s fine. I probably need to go deal with this, but it’s nothing worth worrying about.” He plasters his best smile on as he says the last bit, and resolutely ignores the way her frown only deepens. “But I really appreciate the offer! I mean, really!” Danny takes one, then two steps back, then turns towards the entrance to the park, and sets off at a jog, calculating in his head.
It’s been about five minutes since his phone buzzed. Nothing’s happened yet, which means whatever situation probably isn’t hostile yet, so Danny presumably has some amount of time. And the first priority has to be keeping this poor town out of it, so the first thing he needs to do is get out of the town.
Luckily, Danny’s had a map of the best transformation spots building in his head since day one, so it’s a simple matter of running to the closest one, shifting, and then taking off under the cover of his invisibility. Once he gets some height, he starts scanning his surroundings for any odd activity, but everything in the town seems normal, so Danny refocuses, looking instead for a safe spot to deal with...whoever is after him now.
Five minutes later, Danny drops down onto an empty, overgrown lot, well away from anyone. The second his feet hit the ground, he looks down at the phone still in his hand. The unknown number is still there, staring him down from the notification screen. Danny takes a deep breath, and he swipes the phone open and begins to read.
Hey! I talked Robin into giving me your number so we could chat more easily! (it’s Superboy in case that isn’t clear)
Danny stares at the message, the dread in his stomach promptly evaporating, until all that’s left is a dense little nugget of embarrassment. Superboy. Who Danny knows and has talked to, and had been very friendly, and absolutely would have asked his friend Robin for Danny’s number. Because they’re at least sort-of-friends and that’s what friends do. They share their phone numbers and then send each other messages. And Danny reacted to a stupid message by panicking and fleeing the entire town like his phone was a bomb that he had to defuse in a desolate-ass field across from a shitty abandoned truck stop along an equally abandoned highway.
At least Superboy’s not here to see Danny look like a loser.
Hey! He quickly writes back. That’s a great idea, I’ll add you to my contacts :D
Danny hits send, then immediately takes off, heading back towards town. Maybe if he’s quick enough, nobody will catch that he left.
It’s kind of funny, in a way. Like, yeah Superboy had been acting friendly towards him from the beginning, but he hadn’t really thought about the other boy as being a potential friend or anything. There’s a part of him that feels guilty about it - that aches with the thought that he could be sending Superboy all the messages he would have sent to Sam and Tucker. He knows they’d call him an idiot if they could hear those thoughts, but the uncomfortable feeling doesn’t seem overly concerned with Danny’s attempts at rational thought.
He wishes they had come with him, even as he knows how unfair it would’ve been to ask. Their bond may be strong as hell (turns out half-dying in front of your friends makes for an unbreakable friendship), but his friends have families that love and care about them. Meanwhile, Danny’s family had always been a catastrophic mess. He’d always tried not to let himself think about it, but here in a different dimension, it’s easy to admit to himself how much it hurt to have his parents not realize he’d died.
They’d never even questioned it, not sought out a single further answer as to how the portal suddenly started working. Danny had spent weeks, falling through furniture and randomly going invisible, had suddenly started being targeted by their shitty home defense systems, and they’d never fucking noticed, because they’d been too excited that their beloved portal was finally working and now they could dig into their obsession all the more.
In retrospect, they should have realized Danny’s parents were ecto-contaminated far sooner. Even Box Ghost wasn’t that much of a freak for boxes.
“It’s fucking dumb,” Danny mutters, dropping down into an alley and transforming. “Fucking dead, and it’s a relief that they didn’t notice, because if my parents noticed anything about me, they’d only make my life fucking worse!” He punctuates the statement by kicking a half-crushed can as hard as he can, sending it flying directly at the wall. The clang echoes in the tight little alleyway, and again as it clatters to a stop a few feet away. He stands there, staring at the can for a moment, thinking about just letting himself cry. He imagines what would happen if he just collapsed onto the ground and started sobbing and never got up. It’s not like he has any responsibilities to get to, after all. Or, if he wanted, he could march back to the park and tell that nice lady that he’s not fine, and demand that hug she’d offered him. He’d feel dumb as hell, and it wouldn’t actually change anything, but he could.
He stoops down to pick up the can. Sam would want him to go recycle it. Superboy responds to his text with a goofy midair selfie.
* * *
Danny does not want to be doing math right now, so when his phone buzzes, he jumps at the opportunity to do literally anything else. Danny’s determined to do well in school this time around, and he’s willing to work for it, but trying to review and relearn everything he should have over the last couple years sucks. Luckily he’s found some useful resources that he can refer back to when he inevitably discovers something else he should have learned, but preparedness is definitely better than playing catch-up. He’s only going to have two years worth of high school grades, so each class is worth a lot more. Thinking about that, Danny kind of gets why Robin had offered to falsify his grades. He could only imagine how Jazz would’ve felt if her perfect GPA had been erased in Junior year.
But to Danny, the clean slate is already a boon. He’d quite literally scraped his way out of summer school by half of a percent this last year, and even though Junior Year had barely been underway when he’d fled, his grades had already been beyond recovery. And with no ghost attacks to contend with, Danny’s determined to prove he can get to college of his own accord.
Guess what! :D The message from Superboy says, when he opens it. It’s accompanied by a selfie, though it’s not taken in any of the rooms Danny’s seen in the many photos Superboy’s sent him.
Titan Tower’s been demolished and you’re all staying in Robin’s place for a week? Danny sends back immediately. He hopes that’s not actually the case, but Superboy’s always delighted whenever Danny sends him a snarky response, so he swallows the needle of anxiety. They’ve been texting for less than a week, but in that time, Superboy’s sent Danny dozens and dozens of messages. Solidly half of them are just random selfies, and the number that appear to be from inside their hero base has got to be some kind of a security problem, but Danny’s not about to challenge Superboy on it. It’s too reassuring, seeing the headquarters the teen heroes work from. Every selfie reveals more of the comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped base, and with every reveal, Danny feels a little more certain that they really aren’t being exploited.
Nope, comes the response. Then, a moment later, I’m at your new home! This is accompanied by another selfie, this one with an absolutely gorgeous framed print of the pillars of creation in the background. Danny straightens in his seat, as he stares at the message. He’d given Robin carte blanche when it came to furnishing his apartment. At the time of their conversation, he’d been overwhelmed and didn’t want to think about anything like furniture, but now that he’s had time to think he’s been feeling a little regret about it. Danny’s used to living with stuff that other people have picked out, and the idea of having control over his furniture actually does seem like it could be cool. Still, he hadn’t felt strongly enough to say anything, afraid to risk disrupting whatever work Robin had already done. Besides, he’d assumed Robin would just give him the are minimum, and he could add stuff later, when he finally had the money.
Danny’s caught between desperate gratitude and guilt. The print in the photo is beautiful, and exactly the kind of thing Danny might have chosen, but he also knows how much quality prints like that cost. He hadn’t thought about it before, but furniture has got to be expensive too, even if it’s just the bare minimum.
You still there, dude? Another text comes in and Danny moves to reply with shaking hands.
How much money are you guys spending on me?
The response isn’t immediate. Danny tries not to panic, but he can tell he’s going to fail. Instead, he shoves his stuff into his backpack as quickly as he can, holding his breath, because he absolutely can’t be trusted to stay quiet right now. He’s walking out the door to the library, when his phone finally buzzes again.
Okay so I sort of had to ask Robin why you would be worried about that, so like, sorry for the delay. There’s like a lot of gaps in my social knowledge? And I’ve never really had any control over what ppl do or don’t give me, so like. I didn’t realize that would upset you and I’m sorry? But also Robin literally said “not much, only a couple thousand” which is to say that I’m pretty sure he’s actually super rich and furnishing a home is literally peanuts to him.
Danny reads it, and then he reads it again, forcing himself to take deep breaths as he moves out of the doorway. Once he’s well away from anyone’s walking path, he lets himself collapse against the wall, sliding down until he’s curled up against the corner of the ground and wall.
It’s fine.
It’s gotta be fine. There is literally nothing in either of their behavior that has seemed even remotely cruel, and if Danny’s reading between the lines right, then Robin does this sort of thing to other people too, so it’s not even remotely about Danny. He doesn’t feel good about it, but logically it isn’t the level of problem that Danny is worried about. Danny can deal with the gross feelings. He can’t afford to do anything else, really.
After all, how the hell was gonna buy a bed? He has less than a hundred dollars to his name. Maybe he could afford it if he sold off the jewelry, but he absolutely couldn’t furnish a whole apartment. Besides, he literally asked for this. If he’s too stupid to realize the implications of asking for his apartment to be furnished, then that’s fully on him.
His phone buzzes in his pocket. He pulls it out, half on instinct, but really, what is ignoring Superboy going to accomplish?
Are you good? Do I need to find you? I haven’t gotten the hang of tracking heartbeats like Superman, but I can try? I like being your friend, please don’t let me fuck this up
Danny starts typing out a response. Deletes it. Tries again. He tries to lie and say he feels fine, but it just reminds him of the old lady’s expression the other day, and how she’d seemed more upset when he tried to brush his problems off. He takes another deep breath and tries to remember Jazz. They’d mostly avoided talking about Vlad. The whole thing was just so shitty and neither of them had the power to actually do anything, so they’d mostly pretended he didn’t exist, and Danny had done his best to play off the worst of his behavior. There had been one time, though. When Jazz had come home, upset about some conflict with a friend, and she had turned on him about it, lecturing him about boundaries and how important it is to tell people if you feel uncomfortable. She hadn’t explicitly said Vlad’s name but, well, who else could she have been talking about? So Danny forcibly gulps air down, and he tries to explain.
I’m not mad at you? Danny writes. I just - have a history with, like, gifts, and the idea of anyone spending much money on me makes me feel gross. Like in a ‘how is this gonna be held over me’ sort of way, y’know? He has to back up and rephrase a couple times, but eventually he feels like his response makes sense, so he hits send.
Crisis somewhat quelled, Danny gulps down another breath, and pushes himself back to his feet. There’s a mom nearby staring at him, though her kid seems focused on the book in their hands, so he mutters sorry, and starts heading down the street.
Oh. Yeah, I think I get that. Superboy’s response is quicker this time. Can I, like, tell that to Robin? He might have an idea of how to make it not-a-gift?
Sure, Danny responds. I think I’m gonna go for a run, so if I don’t respond, don’t stress out.
* * *
When Danny finishes his run, he’s got a picture from Superboy of an absolutely adorable dog, and one single message from Robin that reads Don’t worry. Meet us at Emery Park at 5. We can discuss the logistics of it then. Robin’s absolutely tragic reassurance doesn’t really make him feel better, but it is sort of amusingly Robin-like, so at least there’s that. Danny has no intentions of trying to study now though, so instead he just wanders the park for a while, before slipping off to transform. When he comes back in his ghost form, he feels incredibly conspicuous and pretty much everyone seems to notice him. Mostly they just smile and nod in his direction, but one person actually comes up to him.
“Hey, uh. My sister was one of the people you saved last month, so like, thank you. She means a lot to me, and I don’t know what I would have done if she’d-” They cut themselves off with a choked noise, and they absolutely look like they’re about to start crying. Danny gets it; he knows full well what happened in the world where something happened to his sister, but he also has no idea how to reassure them.
“I’m very glad I was able to help,” Danny tries. “Um, how is your sister?” Good, that’s how to be empathetic, right?
“Ah, well you know. The smoke inhalation had her laid up for a bit, but honestly I think she was more upset about losing her home, you know? But she’s staying with me for now, so we’ll figure things out.”
“That’s good,” Danny nods. They’re not wrong; losing your home sucks. But this random person absolutely does not need to be subjected to Danny’s long list of misfortune. Luckily they take their leave after that, though whether it’s a result of Danny’s expression or their own emotions, he’s not sure.
Nobody else approaches him in the time it takes for Superboy to flip over his shoulder.
“Hey!” Superboy says, grinning as he lands in front of Danny. “Whatchu been up to?”
“Not much,” Danny says. “It’s really not been a productive day.”
“Shit, sorry.” Superboy winces.
“Nah, even before that, I was trying to review math, so like. Focus has been majorly my enemy, you know?”
“Ready to start school, then?” Robin asks from where he’s walked up to stand by Danny.
“Eh, probably not ever gonna be, so it might as well happen.”
“Right, well everything is ready, so if you’d like to adjourn to the apartment to discuss specifics?” Danny nods, and follows as they head off again.
Instead of walking, Robin pulls out a literal zip-line, and they quite literally take to the rooftops, all the way to a nice-looking brick building, not far from the center of town. Danny would wager that it’s within a ten minute walk of the library and the nearest grocery store, which is pretty sweet. Danny can even see little balconies along the front, as they approach which is pretty cool. so he might even get a view. Instead of heading to the front of the building, Robin drops down to street level, and Danny finds himself in a little parking garage when he follows.
“We’re less likely to get spotted this way,” Robin explains as he walks through the parking lot. “I’ll erase the security footage of us, but the less people know we came here, the safer your identity is.”
“Makes sense,” Danny says. “I can, um, make you guys invisible, but I’d have to be touching you to do it.”
“By all means.” Robin says, staring Danny down.
“Cool, um,” Danny glances over at Superboy, who nods, so he reaches out to grip their wrists carefully, and lets his invisibility wash over all three of them. He lets Robin lead them through the door, and up three flights of stairs. He stops in front of a door labelled 305, and a moment later, the door is open and the three of them are stepping inside. Danny drops his grip on them as the door closes, taking in the room around him.
Danny’s half-formulated fear of some fancy, swagged-out apartment that constantly reminds him of Robin’s generosity seems ridiculous in the face of the cozy, simply appointed living space in front of him. Instead of a table, there’s a small bar area built into the kitchen with a couple of comfortable-looking stools, and the couch in the living room looks comfortably worn, so Robin must have gotten it secondhand. The decorations aren’t extravagant either. The framed print Danny had seen earlier sits proudly on the wall behind the couch, but aside from that there’s only a couple minor decorations, and a lamp.
He turns to look back at Robin, who immediately steps forward and holds up a key ring.
“This key gets you into the building, this one is to your apartment, and this one is to your mailbox. There’s also a bike room in the parking garage we walked through. That’s what this last key is for, though I would advise still using a bike lock if you decide to get one.” He holds it out, after he finishes, and Danny nods, trying to commit each key to memory. After a moment, Robin continues.
“Your lease is in the folder on the counter, along with your personal documentation and a couple other things. As far as the funding of this is concerned, I took the slight liberty of forward-funding this with your theoretical payout for the assistance you provided during the train crash last month. So, if and when you decide to legally declare your hero identity, I’ll back-file the paperwork for that.”
“Oh,” Danny says. He looks around the room again, and then back at Robin. The internet had been entirely unclear if Robin had any powers, but Danny’s decided he’s got to be psychic. There’s no other way he could have planned this all out so perfectly. “Okay, that’s, um. That definitely works for me. Thank you so much.”
“You’ve gotta see your bedroom, though!” Superboy explains, grabbing Danny’s hand and pulling him down the hallway, and through the last door.
The bedroom that greets him is similarly balanced as the living area. The comforter alone makes Danny pause. As long as he can remember, he’d always secretly wanted a space-themed comforter, but he’d only ever seen the goofy ones made for little kids, but this comforter is decorated with an absolutely gorgeous cover; the star-spattered blue-black of outer space giving way at the bottom edge to a view of the earth itself, atmosphere pale against the onslaught of space. It’s gorgeous, and doesn’t make Danny feel childish at all. The wall behind the headboard is similarly impressive, with what has to be a composite print of high quality images of every major body in the galaxy, from the sun itself to the dwarf planet Pluto (Danny hadn’t been certain how to feel about that particular difference in classification when he’d first arrived, but he’s come around to it by now).
“Do you like it?” Superboy asks.
“It’s amazing,” Danny says. Stepping forward and falling onto his new bed. “I actually can’t believe this is all mine.”
“Your name’s the one on the lease,” Robin says. “Although please do let me know if you have a hard time making payments. I’m more than happy to assist, and if you need to make it a loan to feel comfortable, we work that out.”
“Yeah, okay.” Danny says, looking around the space again. He feels a lot less anxious just being in this space. Vlad would never have done anything like this. If he’d ever been inclined to get Danny an apartment, there would have been reminders of him everywhere. It’s not even like the kind of unwanted stuff Sam would throw at him and Tucker. This whole apartment really feels like it’s meant to be his.
“There’s also the beginnings of a wardrobe in the closet. Not much since I wasn’t certain of style preferences, but a few basics and a couple nice shirts for any job interviews and the like.”
“Oh,” Danny says. He really should think of better responses to what Robin says, but he keeps saying things Danny hadn’t even considered.
“Similarly, there’s some food essentials in the kitchen. We can always take anything you dislike to a food bank.” Robin continues, unhindered. “And the secondary bedroom is currently set up to be an office. Since you’re doing the school from home option, I decided it was worthwhile to set up a separate space for you to do that from. Separating work and relaxation spaces can go a long way to not going insane.”
“Oh.” Danny feels like a broken record.
“Furthermore, to head off any concerns, the laptop is one of my old ones that was sitting unused in storage. The planner, however, is new, and it is a gift.” Robin says, his mouth turning up into a slight smile. Keeping track of what you have to do is the most difficult part of online school, and the planner should help with that. Just don’t get caught up in trying to use it the right way. Whatever works best for you is the correct way.”
“Damn dude,” Superboy says, staring at his friend. “How are you gonna go and make school sound like it’s kinda fun?”
“If you’re interested, I could get you signed up as well.” Robin’s response comes immediately.
“We should order pizza,” Danny says, flopping onto the couch. “Gotta hang out now before I get too busy with school.”

The Dreamcatcher
Dpxdc Prompt #26
All vigilantes get bad dreams. Of the ones they couldn't save, the criminals that got away, even of their fellow heroes dying. When you take up the cape you are practically signing an agreement for nightmares to haunt your sleep.
It's apart of the job, no matter how terrible.
One night after a long patrol, when the Bats were all dreading sleep, it was Steph that brought it up.
"We should get dreamcatchers. Hang em up on our doors, they'd help."
No one responded immediately, every single one of them knew that was a pipedream, including Steph.
"If it makes you feel better, go for it Steph." Dick finally obliged, after a too-long awkward silence.
When the intricate dreamcatchers appeared on the doors to their bedrooms a week later no one took them down. They all had ways to cope and if Steph giving all of them dreamcatchers gave her comfort who were they to deny it? Plus it was nice to have a bit of hope, no matter how fragile.
They didn't expect the dreamcatchers to actually work.
Danny had been dragged, beaten, and broken beyond repair by the GIW. He barely escaped their clutches with his half-life still intact and ran off to the closest city he could find, Gotham.
He built a life there, and slowly but surely the threat of the GIW only appeared as a background thought of his waking mind. It was a different story, however, when he was asleep.
They still hurt him every night, only difference was they weren't there to document it and look at him like guinea pig.
So Danny, like the problem-solver he was, made his own solution. After a few too many close calls with Nocturn he had found a way to infuse dreamcatchers with just enough ectoplasm to make them actually work. If they could repel an ancient ghost what was a few bad nightmares? He didn't have money to spare to buy one so he made his own and hung it up by his door.
He started sleeping better, with no nightmares of his own to haunt him, but that didn't mean his nights stopped being interrupted by screams. Not his own, no, apparently living in a city with so much crime and grime could lead to it's own traumatic experiences.
His neighbor's daughter had been kidnapped and trafficked, only recently brought back into his custody. She was 5 and Danny's heart broke every time he woke up to her shrieking.
So he made her a dreamcatcher too.
And then she told some of her friends who had also been hurt by someone, because who in Gotham hadn't, and they requested some dreamcatchers from him as well.
Word spread and soon Danny had a suitably profitable business on his hands.
He didn't charge much, most of his clientele could barely afford food, but he still needed to eat too.
Then the vigilante Spoiler came up to him and asked if he did custom orders.
Danny could see the hope behind the white eyes of her domino, desperation from years of built of pain and suffering.
"No usually, no, but if it's for the heroes of Gotham I can make an exception."

AU where Danny doesn't know what his ghost form means, and is terrified of it.
When Danny had his accident, he managed to keep the full extent of his powers a secret from everyone. He knew it was irrational, but what if Sam and Tucker agreed with his mom and dad about ghosts after seeing his ghost form?
More importantly; how could he ever let Sam and Tucker know that when they'd egged him on, at least a part of him had died? Neither of them would ever forgive themselves for it.
However, suppressing such a huge part of himself resulted in more accidents, and he had to at least concede that he was a meta. A strong one.
The powers that got leaked were; intangibility, flight, ecto-blasts, frost breath, invisibility, and tactile telekinesis disguised as enhanced strength.
That was, naturally, huge. Those were some dangerous powers, and his mom and dad wanted to make sure he got all the help he could.
They signed him up for a Big Brother program run by the Justice League, to put him into contact with another super-powered hero to provide guidance. To help him get used to his powers.
Maybe take him on a few training runs.
Danny let it happen, and kept his ghost form a secret from his mentor as well. He knew that if he went full ghost, the powers he was already displaying would be magnified, and that terrified him.
Danny didn't use his ghost form at all if he could help it. He didn't like the concept of what it was, didn't like that it stripped him of his humanity, didn't like how it felt just as natural to him as his human form. What if he got stuck one day?
What if he used his powers so much, that he died for real?
The potential strength of his own powers scared him so much that his mentor spotted it, and Danny told a very abridged version of why he was so delicate with his own powers; that he'd gotten them from dying. That all of them were a form of death magic. That if he leaned too far into them, would he lose himself?
He didn't know.
He didn't want to find out.
He couldn't bring himself to tell his mentor about his ghost form, not wanting them to grieve a person still very much there.
His mentor, while not agreeing with fearing what was a part of him, did agree to take it slow with their trainings, so as not to overwhelm the fourteen year old.
But superheroes lead turbulent lives.
Danny and his mentor are on a training trip, and one of the mentors villains shows up. But the villain has a new tactic; they have a way to deflect all of Danny and his mentor's abilities.
Or at least the villain thinks they do.
Danny realizes that if he wants to get out of this alive, then ironically, he's going to have to die.
"...I have to win, right? No matter the cost." Danny mutters, dragging himself up.
"No. No, whatever you're about to do, don't!"
Danny ignores his mentor and, with a bright flash of light, lets the cool calm of death wash over him.
Danny goes ghost, in front of his mentor.
Danny's mentor just watched the kid under their watch get consumed by the powers he'd so feared.

Split-second
Dpxdc Prompt #24
It had only taken a split-second for the reality of the situation to set in. Martha Wayne, her husband, and her son were being threatened by a mugger wanting their belongs holding a gun.
Thomas—kind, peaceful, sweet Thomas—had attempted to diffuse the situation.
It didn't work.
Her husband was on the floor, dying, and she was a widow-to-be.
She screamed.
The mugger turned to her and shot, about to leave her little Brucie an orphan.
Then, for a split-second, everything felt strange, the bullet went right through her skin and she felt light in a way she hadn't felt in years.
The mugger was confused, Martha used that moment of confusion to pick up her shellshocked son and run out of the alley.
As soon as she got home she pushed past a concerned Alfred and turned on the news. Phantom, a hero from the town of Amity Park, had turned the entire planet intangible to stop them from being destroyed by an asteroid.
It just so happened to line up with when she had been shot at. It was only for a split-second, but it had changed the course of her and her son's lives forever.
When he and Mom got home from the theatre from his Dad's murder Mom had immediately rushed to the television.
Phantom, the news called the teenage hero, savior of the world. But for Bruce it was different, Phantom hadn't just saved the world.
Phantom had saved Mom.
Later as Bruce poured over articles about the ghost, anything to distract him from the Manor being emptier than it should, he realized Phantom did a lot to help around his own town too.
He had been saving regular everyday people, and it had made a difference.
It was then and there that Bruce found his resolve. There was no way he could save Dad, it was too late.
But... if Phantom could save Mom from halfway across the world and saved his fellow citizens from attacks. Then maybe, just maybe, Bruce could save someone else's dad, or mom, or brother, or sister, or friend.
Maybe Bruce could make a difference.
When Mom tucked him in that night, something he had recently said he was too old for, but didn't protest after the night, she kissed him on the cheek and softly spoke.
"Goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bats bite."
Bats were Bruce's biggest fear. As his eyes drifted shut he recalled something he had heard Phantom say in an interview.
"Oh I'm constantly terrified when I'm fighting ghosts. Even though I am one that doesn't mean it's not scary, they were the things my parents would tell exaggerated spooky stories about as kids after all. However, I like to think that however scared I am of them, they're just as scared of me"
Maybe Bruce could use his fear of bats to help him help others too.

Danny and Peter run into Jason: one-shot based on my most recent post
\/\/\/\/
Danny sighed as he shivered, still trying to get used to the spider-sense. From what he and Peter could tell it's barely only been a month since their situation and by far Spider sense has been the most annoying ability to try and learn.
"Peter tingle sucks, man," Danny mutters under his breath lest he get confused stares.
"Please for the love of everything, stop calling it peter tingle." Peter begged. If he was in control of his body at the moment he's sure his head would be on his head.
Danny's... housemate? Body...mate? Ew, no not that one. Headmate. Yeah, headmate, tried his best to explain how his sixth sense worked and how to deal with it but Danny still gets freaked out by it. Even when he's not driving the body
"Well, maybe if i didn't get tingles and shivers every time i would call it accordingly."
"It's just warning you of danger."
"Dude, we're currently staying in an area called crime alley near a place called the narrows in a city where crime is rampant. Gotham is ranked number one for 'one of the most crime-ridden cities'," Danny ranted, trying to keep his voice low and head down.
That little nugget of information was great to learn when they were doing their research. On top of learning that aliens exist and the police were corrupt. Though that last one wasn't too surprising.
"I mean, if we moved..."
"We barely have enough to feed ourselves plus your crazy metabolism. We can't move and then struggle to find a good place to bunk." Danny sighed again.
Trying to find a job is the most difficult thing at the moment considering they didn't have any ID—or any proof of existence in this world—and the fact they looked so young.
Danny took stealing from people, much to chagrin if Peter. He swore up and down he was stealing from wealthy people.
Peter on the other hand, when he was in control of his body, would try and fix anything from anyone within the area. People have started calling him 'tinkerer' and. Funnily enough, the guy who buys the stuff Danny steals calls him 'furittus'.
"Hey, look." Peter grabbed Danny's attention to what's ahead of them.
In front of them is a nice red motorcycle, the glossy coat reflecting the soft glow of the nighttime city. It was just sitting idle and unattended with no one near it or in sight.
Danny whistled appreciatively and walked closer to it. "D'ya recognize it, Pete?"
"Hmm, I think it's a Honda CB750 but...it looks heavily modified. That would cost a lot." Peter noted with a hint of admiration in his voice.
Danny hummed in thought, a playful smile growing in his face.
"Think i could steal it?" He joked.
"No!"
Danny blinked as the word practically echoed in his head, "Ow."
Pete huffed. If he had his body he would cross them and he would have a frown on his face. "Sorry for yelling, but also, that's a horrible idea. It would have cost the person so much time and money to modify the bike."
Danny rolled his eyes, "If it meant so much they wouldn't have left it here in the middle of crime alley. Just the wheels at least."
Peter sighed, "You don't even have any tools. How are you going to take the wheels?"
Danny smirked as he lifted their hand and turned it intangible. At least, that was the attempt. Their whole arm turned intangible instead.
Peter huffed, "I'll try to keep a lookout as you take the wheels then. Just like to say again, this is a horrible idea."
Danny grinned as he quietly worked to get the wheels off the rest of the bike and carefully left the bolts near the bike. It's the least he could. He has one wheel off when he pauses his work to get a better look at the engine.
"This sure is a nice looking bike." Danny says absentmindedly. "I'm really curious who it belongs to."
"I would say thank you but it looks like I'm being robbed." The gravel behind them makes noise.
Danny gasps—blue mist leaves his mouth—spinning to face the man behind them and some of the bolts fall out of his hand.
"i found it like that." Danny blurts out.
"Oh for the love–I can't even be mad, i would say the same thing. But i told you it would be a bad idea! Do you see him?? Look how huge he is!" peter ranted and hoped that Danny could feel him disappointment.
The man in front of them is huge, built like a tank and wearing a leather jacket. He has black hair with some of the front part being white. He definitely knows how to fight.
The man crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. "Why does this feel like deja vu?" He mutters. "Alright, wanna explain yourself, kid?"
Danny tries not to pout as he's called a kid, "...I just needed some money for some food." He says instead, hoping the man will take some pity.
The man stares at him, scrutinizing him and trying to come to some conclusion.
"What if he kills us?" Peter whispers.
"Welp, sorry pete but you would have erased yourself for nothing." Danny dryly replies as quiet as he can.
"Dude! Uncalled for."
"Alright, come on, follow me." The man suddenly says.
Danny jumps, his mouth dropping open "huh?"
"Food. I know a good place. The names' Jason, by the way." The man, Jason, simply says. He puts his hands in his jacket and starts heading in a direction.
"We're not actually following him, right? That's like, stranger danger one-oh-one and–nope we're just following him. That's great. That's cool. Lets just follow the guy we were stealing from."
Danny shrugged. "Free food."
Peter sighs and can only watch as Danny follows the guy. He would take control if he could, but if he forced a switch, that would only cause extreme dizziness, and it would be hard to explain their physical change, too. Peter and Danny still haven't figured out how to safely switch who is in control of the body. They just wake up and whoever is in control of the body is in control for the rest of the day, unless they're knocked out. Once, Danny was in control for three whole days.
Jason led to a fast food place called Bat Burger.
Once at the register, Jason tilted his head, "Order whatever you like and however much you like."
Danny and Peter are stunned hearing what Jason just said.
"However much I like?" Danny slowly repeated still trying to make sure he heard right.
"no way he's serious, right?"
"Yup, however much you like." Jason confirmed as he finished his order. "I'm using my old man's credit card anyway."
"...Alright, what do we want," Danny mutters and decides not to question Jason's odd decision. If they can order however much they want then they'll be able to take whatever they don't finish back to their little base, though he doubts they'll leave much.
Peter rattles off what his order, which Danny repeats and then he orders what he wants.
One thing Peter is grateful for, despite their circumstances, is that when he is stuck in his head, he can still taste whatever Danny is eating and vice versa.
The cashier stares in horror but then deeply sighs. They ring up their order, gives them their cups, and tell them to sit anywhere.
They grab their drinks and the two sit in the corner booth.
Jason places his hands on the table, "So, kid, what can i call ya?'
Danny jumps at the sudden question and stutters out, "Uh, our name is–I mean, my, my name is Danny."
The rest of the night goes by strangely but nicely. Jason asks one too many questions—about their non-existent home life which is nice—and that leads Danny to tell Jason to shove them, much to Peter's horror.
Danny does pretty much eat everything and as much as he wants to ask Jason about his strange ecto signature, he lets it go in favor of being left alone.
"That guy was weird. My spider sense didn't, you know, sense him." Peter admits, suspicion and weariness oozing from his voice.
Danny shrugs, "It's a big city. I doubt we'll run into him again."
\/\/\/\/
Peter luck strikes again.
If peter ever got the chance, he'll hang Danny up by his feet. He will find some way to neutralize his abilities and web him up.
"Hey, you're welcome to try, pete!" Danny says through his laughing.
In front of Peter is Jason, the man that fed them just a few weeks ago.
And is currently staring down at Peter with an intense stare.
Next to Jason is another man with tanned skin, black hair, and blue eyes. He's smiling widely, coming off as friendly.
"Do you two know each other?" The man tilted his head, trying to start a conversation.
"Uh, no, sorry, it's my first time seeing him...and you," Peter replies and looks down at the watches he's holding. He'd been told to fix them and the people they belonged too were loyal customers. He didn't think one of them would be Jason.
"Nah, i don't know 'em. He just looks familiar." Jason replies. He squints, scowling in thought. "You don't happen to have a twin do you? One with Black hair and blue eyes."
Peter wants to shrivel up and die.
Danny definitely isn't helping as he wheezes, laughing at Peter's misfortune.
Danny, what do I say?!
"Tell them yes and that we've been separated and you have been living with your uncle!"
By some miracle, Peter was able to sell his grief and ask Jason if he'd seen him. He's not sure how he did it since his lying pretty subpar most days. He was still baffled about lying to Aunt May for as long as he did.
"Oh, that's so sad," The man, Dick Grayson, stated with empathy in his eyes. "Why don't you file a missing person report? They could help..." He weakly says.
Jason sighs, placing a hand on his forehead. "Dick i swear to god..."
Peter stares baffled. Did this man not know Gotham police? How does he explain why going to the police is not a good idea, for one, the corruption, and two because Danny—by extension Peter as well—do not exist. So he cant file a missing person report.
"ACAB, bitch!"
"ACAB, bitch!" Peter blurts out the only thing in his mind and slaps a hand over his mouth. Danny's loud voice was the only thing on his mind. He couldn't think of anything else.
Danny was laughing hysterically about the situation Peter found himself in.
Dicks mouth dropped open, shocked by the sudden exclaim.
Jason begins to snicker which turns into a full blown belly aching laughter. He leaned on the counter and slapped Dick's shoulder.
"He–HAHAHH! Ohhh man. Kid I just met, you're incredible. heehe–" Jason erupted into another fit of laughter.
Peter stands in embarrassment and tired of this whole thing. He just wants the world to open up and swallow him. Saves him from the embarrassment.
"You're stuck with me Peter, whether you like it or not!" Danny exclaims through laughter.
At the very least, Peter isn't alone.

This is all i had running through my head. I cannot promise any part 2 or anything
Some notes:
Jason's personal bike and red hood bike are different. And obviously hard to find an exact model since they change with different iterations and, ya know, trademark law and all. The bike i mentioned is one iteration that seemed the most obvious since someone was able to name it.
I think the earliest spiderman gave peter Parker a bike. I haven't seen anyone put an exact name on it but, funnily enough, its also a Honda
I hope I did the characters justice <3

Birds birbs birbritch - Part 29
masterpost this is a first draft, please no editing or concrit <3
“Well, there’s the my horde of children,” Bruce said, glanced to Steph, and added, “and otherwise.”
“Hi B,” Steph said with a large smile that was just a little too much tooth, “and hi Danny!”
“Hello Stephanie,” Danny said. His wings were pulled tight against his back, as if he could hide them from view.
He couldn’t.
“Sorry B,” Dick chirped with his most innocent smile, “we were in the middle of a Mario Kart battle and you know how those can get!”
“At least tell me nothing is broken,” Bruce said, sounding entirely resigned about it all.
“Nothing is broken. Yet.”
“Well… good enough, I suppose.” Bruce said. “Though everyone had better sit though before Alfred comes in and fusses.”
“Too late, Master Bruce,” Alfred drawled as he came into the room with serving tray in hand.
They all appropriately scrambled for seats.
What with Danny being there, the normal seating (not that it always stayed exactly the same) was thrown into complete disarray. Mostly this was because Damian insisted on sitting next to Danny while Cass took the seat across from him and Tim next to her. Dick tried to stuff back him smile, but Jason caught it and rolled his eyes at his brother.
Still, it was sort of nice, in a weird way like when big cats have a service dog, to see Damian having someone out of the family that he felt the need to look over and protect. The suddenness of it all was what bothered Jason. Cass meets the guy and he’s invited to the ballet. Tim sleeps in his office. Damian wants to protect him. Even Bruce was at ease earlier with Danny sleeping on his lap. It was just like Danny belong there in with the rest of their family.
Jason didn’t trust it.
He especially didn’t trust it because it seemed to be having an effect on him too. He hadn’t snooped nearly as much as he could have in Danny’s apartment. Hell, the revelations down in the Cave that they had just had didn’t bother him as much as they should have.
Jason looked across the table to Duke, who was squinting a little at Danny. Jason kicked Duke lightly under the table and tilted his head in question.
Duke rolled his eyes, but pulled out his phone and sent: He’s got, like, an aura about him.
Jason frowned, typing back quickly: Did he at the ballet?
Duke gave a little shrug, but shook his head.
Well, that was very interesting. Jason wished that Duke had seen Danny when he was in full bird form so that they could have had a full comparison, but this was something at least. Danny had admitted that he was a Meta, but was he a meta like Wally was or more like Duke or even Kori? The odd language certainly pointed more towards Duke or Kori.
Dick nudged Jason with his pointy elbow. When Jason glared at him, Dick just looked pointedly down at Jason’s plate and back up.
‘Eat,’ he mouthed.
Jason rolled his eyes, but dug into the meal. It was a vegetarian pasta of some sort. Salad and garlic bread were also on the table. Basically a nice, carb heavy meal to have after a long, hard day. Jason had to wonder if Alfred would even let any of them out tonight. None of the ‘kids’ for sure. Tim, Damian, and Steph were all certain to be grounded. Dick, Jason, and Cass could probably make a good argument to go out and get started on this Mad Hater thing, but Cass might prefer to stay close. Jason couldn’t really blame her for that if she did. She deserved to get to be close to her family.
Jason caught Dick’s gaze again, raising a curious brow with a little head motion down towards the Cave. Approximately.
Dick nodded, a seriousness in his eyes.
Okay, guess they had a plan.
-
Bruce found them as they were suiting up. He leaned against the Batcomputer and watched as Dick and Jason bickered and hindered each other actually being able to get dressed for patrol. It was good to see them able to be brothers like that again. Therapy with Harley had really been helping Jason and Bruce knew that Dick was seeing someone, even if he hadn’t pried into who. Bruce didn’t think it was fair too when it had taken him as long to start seeing help.
It was something he wish he had done far earlier.
Had pushed for all of them to do earlier.
“What are you brooding about over there, old man?” Jason called out. He’d finally wrestled his gloves back from Dick and was pulling them on.
“I can just be somewhere without brooding,” Bruce said.
Bruce sighed. “I was thinking how proud I am of both of you for making good of the therapy that you’ve been doing.”
There was a long silence before Jason mumbled ‘sap’ and ducked his head. Dick just grinned back, a faint blush on his cheeks. As old as they two were, they were still his kids.
“If I stay in tonight, will you two be fine out there?”
“Doubting us?” Jason asked. His voice changed part way through as he put on his mask and the modulation kicked in.
“Never,” Bruce said, which seemed to make Jason freeze again. “Just asking you want me out there as back up.”
“Stay in with the others,” Dick said with a little shake of his head. “I know they’ve brushed it off, but Dami and Tim have still been through a rough day. And Danny too. You should be around if anyone has issues in the night.”
“Let us go out and start investigating,” Hood added. Even with the mask, here was a softness to his voice. “We’ve got this.”
Bruce nodded. He knew they did. “I’ll keep a comm if you need me.”
“Sure. Just make sure to get some rest, old man,” Jason said and headed towards the bikes. Nightwing followed with a little wave.
Bruce stayed in the Cave until they were gone and then grabbed a communicator to slide into his ear, just in case.

You Know Not All of Us Were Assholes, Right?
Because of the fact that Marvel debuted in the 1950s, people thought he was all of the -ics and -isms.
Marvel: *staring at a gay couple making out* “Ew.”
Robin!Tim: “Woah, man.”
Marvel: “What?”
Robin!Tim: “Look, I understand things were different for you back then, but times have changed. Being gay is accepted nowadays.”
Marvel: “I thought being happy was always accepted? Was being happy not good at some point?”
Robin!Tim: “No- uh being a homosexual is accepted nowadays.”
Marvel: “Oh. Well, that’s just dandy! All their protesting and fighting made a real difference, huh?”
Robin!Tim: “Yes!” *pauses* “You sound surprisingly happy about that.”
Marvel: “Why wouldn’t I be? Those people were treated like scum and were forced to protest basic rights. Isn’t that a good thing?”
Robin!Tim: “Yes, but you just said ew to them.”
Marvel: “Why wouldn’t I…? Those guys were full tongue kissing in public. It was disgusting. Like two dogs, lapping at each other’s faces.” *shivers*
or
Marvel: “Wait… So you were a girl that became a boy. Why?”
Trans Person: “Well, I just wanted to be one.”
Marvel: “Oh.” *stares a for a moment* “Well, you certainly did a good job. I wasn’t able to tell you were ever a girl at some point.”
Trans Person: “That’s kinda what the testosterone was for.”
Marvel: “Testosterone?”
Trans Person: “It’s something I take to become a boy.”
Marvel: “Wow… People have really come so far.” *sounds so amazed*
or
Female Hero: “What? Are you looking down on me?”
Marvel: “No-”
Female Hero: “I’ll have you know that women have come far from the lowly housewives you might’ve seen them as fifty odd years ago.”
Marvel: “Yeah… I know. You know I’ve worked with Bulletgirl, right? And Mary. All I did was comment about how you were being a little reckless, which you are being you’ve thrown and missed multiple cars at a singular villain. Why are you insulting housewives all of a sudden?” *sounds extremely concerned*

Finding each other in every lifetime x Anger Management
Jason didn’t know why he used to dream of a girl. She would look different, and he would look different, but he would always know it’s the same girl. He would dream of her and him meeting again, and again, even as a child. After the pit, it was as if the dreams were clearer, almost seeming linear now. The dreams were sometimes the only thing that would keep him from going on a rampage.
Jaz had always dreamed of a boy. It was her own guilty pleasure, the constant dreams of meeting a boy over and over again. She always looked different that he always looks different, but she recognized him as if he never changed. She never talked about the dreams, thinking of them only as childhood fantasies, or remnants of when she used to dream of a prince charming.
Jason didn’t expect to meet the newest therapist at Arkham and feel as if all of his dreams were crashing into reality. He was only supposed to be there for a day, but he ended up signing on under one of his fake identities to be a guard there.
Jazz didn’t expect to meet the boy who echoed all of her dreams on her first day at Arkham. He was a guard, a boy who spoke with Shakespeare on his tongue and eyes that seemed to match her and confusion and awe.
Everyone in Arkham knew that Dr. Jasmine Nightingale and Jay Peterson fell in love at first sight. Their love story became the soap opera for all employees and prisoners of Arkham Asylum. No one wanted to miss it.

Danny is Dick and Barbara’s kid.
Sad idea because I’m stressed and with seasonal depression and because this year was awful in general:
Basically, Dick and Barbara did not used protection on night and a couple months later Bab’s was throwing up her breakfast one good morning, thinking it was just a bug Babs goes to Leslie who just for clearance also realizes a pregnancy test, lo and behold, Bab was pregnant with Dick’s kid (Dick was like nineteen and Babs around twenty-one?). Barbara calls Dick and tells him she is pregnant. They meet up at Barbara’s apartment where they talk about it and decide that they would have the baby but that given their nightlife and responsibilities they obviously would not keep the child, it would be too dangerous, so they go to the only parental figure that would not immediately lash out at them, Alfred.
Alfred does severely chastise them and reproaches them for not telling Bruce and James but he also comprehends why both young adults are terrified and, in the end, decides to help them.
Barbara hides the pregnancy by faking going to a student ex-change program (in truth, she just went to Seattle and spent her pregnancy months there under a fake identity) while Dick kept in touch with her via phone calls. In the background, Alfred had prepared everything for the child to be quickly moved away as soon as they were born. Dick is present when the baby, a healthy boy with a tuff of black hair and vivid blue eyes, is born. He cries when the nurse places him on his arms.
A couple of hours later, Barbara and Dick are looking at the nameless baby with wonder – love, hope – and sadness when Alfred walks into the room followed by an unknown woman that is wearing very dark sunglasses.
“It is time.” The elderly man says as he walks further into the room and extends his arms towards.
Babs and Dick give the baby a tender kiss on his almost bald head and give the baby to Alfred, when the entitled grandfather closes the door behind his back, he can hear Dick and Barbara crying inside the room. Then, he also looks at the child on his arms before passing him away to the ‘adoption services’ lady.
“I am so sorry, child.” He tells the sleeping baby and also kiss him on the forehead, then he gives the child to the mysterious lady.
A couple of months later, Dick is visiting Gotham and obviously staying at the manor, Bruce and Tim have already gone to work and school so Dick and Alfred are alone. Dick has barely sat down to enjoy breakfast when Alfred hands him a picture of a small family; a massive man with short black hair and steel blue eyes, a fit looking woman with long dark auburn hair and unusual purple eyes, the man is carrying a red-headed toddler (around two years old) with a big blue aquamarine colored bow on top of the head and the woman is carrying (Dick’s eyes widen and his pupils shake as they fill with tears)… the woman is carrying his son…
“His name is Daniel James.” Alfred informs with solemn voice, omitting the last name on purpose.
“He’s a James?” Dick sobs/chuckles and cleans the tears away from his eyes. “Bab’s going to love it.”
Barbara cries as she hugs the picture Dick gives her that afternoon.
Danny finds out that he is adopted when he is ten years old after Sam convinces him and Tucker to do a DNA test with her because she is convinced that she is adopted and wants to be sure. Sam’s grandma pays for everything because she always supports Sam even though the elderly woman that Sam is her spitting image, after all what harm could it make? Well, when young Danny’s results arrive it turns out that his ancestors are mostly Romani, Italian and Scottish? What? And apparently most of his closest blood relatives are in Gotham city? WhAt?
Danny confronts his parents about it and that’s when they tell him he is adopted. Surprisingly, Danny takes it well. According to what Jack and Maddie told him he is the product of a teen-pregnancy (that’s the story the lady from the adoption agency told them) and his biological parents decided it was safer for him to grow out of Gotham with adults that could properly provide for him.
Some years later, after the TV show happenings occur, Jack and Maddie discover that Danny is Phantom and working along the G.I.W. they capture Danny. Jazz, Sam, Tucker and Val are desperate so they finally contact the Justice League. JL investigates the situation and don’t like what they find, in the end even JL Dark has to intervene because apparently the government is basically declaring war against the most powerful, chaotic and warrior-oriented dimension that also happens to be the very center of everything, everywhere at the same time. Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Martian Manhunter and Constantine are the ones disposed for the mission.
While Batman and Martian Manhunter infiltrate the G.I.W. facilities, Nightwing, Robin and Constantine make contact one of the local vigilantes, Red Huntress, and the small group of teens that made the call. They meet up at a place called Fenton Works and while Jazz (the daughter of the head scientists of the G.I.W. facilities and older sister of the captured boy) explains Constantine how her parents managed to open a portal the Infinite Realms, Nightwing and Robin are watching every picture and inspecting every corner of the house, that how Nightwing finds the picture… the very same picture that Alfred gave him almost fifteen years ago, the picture of the family that had adopted his son…
“My baby…” Oracle’s horrified gasp echoes in the comms (back in the Clocktower Barbara is holding her lower belly, eyes wide open and filling with tears).
Only the ones connected to the bat-comms hear her (for now only Bruce, Damian and Dick), well, Dick did not hear her because the instant his eyes landed on the picture only the sound of a flat line echoes in his head.
“Hey, Nightwing?” Constantine feels the shift around the blue themed bat. "All good mate?"
“It’s him.” Barbara continues speaking, her shock and horror that her baby, the baby she gave away for his own safety, the baby she gave away for him to have a normal life, the baby she gave away so he could be happy with a normal family and away from the vigilante life… her biggest sacrifice… “Dick that’s our son.” She reveals as her computer displays every single document about the doctors Fenton and their children.
In the end they do manage to save Danny.
Jack and Maddie are arrested for their crimes against the meta-protection laws, the G.I.W. has been closed down as well as the A.E.A. and Jazz and Danny have been placed in a foster home (the Wayne’s, obviously). Once everything has been set and done and Batman and Nightwing have returned to the Watchtower to debrief before going back home to greet Jazz and Danny, Bruce makes Dick sit down in his personal office.
“Explain. Now.” Bruce growls, he is furious and Dick knows it. Bruce has also turned on the silence mode so no one outside his office could listen them.
Notes: Barbara and Dick are already married when they find Danny in Amity Park. Commissioner Gordon is furious at his daughter and Dick (he doesn’t talk to them or Alfred for like a month) but the instant he meets Danny he melts and all is good with life. Danny doesn’t know that Dick and Barbara are his bio-parents but he does find out eventually. Jazz does discover that Dick and Barbara are Danny’s bio-parents sooner and urges them to tell Danny the truth.

I thought of another DannyxBatpham where Danny doesn't get adopted or romantically involved:
To try and maintain some sense of normalcy for young Dick once he's settled in at the Manor, Bruce gets him involved in gymnastics. Of course, this eventually means competitions. And high level competitions all over the country.
The first competition out of state, he wins but it is a CLOSE thing. Too close. Who the hell is this dude out of Illinois? What do you mean his home practice is on the local park's JUNGLE GYM???
Or Danny started up gymnastics (for plot reasons, isn't he considered clumsy in canon? Or is that just a cover?) and found out he's actually pretty good! And it's fun! His parents are more present when competition is involved and he doesn't miss a single one. He and Dick go back and forth at every competition they're both at. It's a toss up as to who is going to win every time. And Dick kinda low-key hates how good Danny is, because he's pretty sure if Danny had his background and resources, he'd be winning every time. But Danny is also the absolutely sweetest and is always the loudest voice cheering for him and the first to congratulate him. They even strike up a little bit of a pen-pal thing.
So why does Danny suddenly quit in the middle of Freshman year?

Shot Through The Heart
So what if Danny and Ellie’s obsessions literally contradict each other? Like Danny’s obsession is protection which means he feels compelled to stay in one place (Amity) and it might actually hurt to be away for too long. While Dani’s obsession is freedom so it would actually hurt her more to stay in one place for too long. And because of this, even if they care for each other they can never truly spend too long together before their obsessions force them to split apart. So Dani might need help and Danny will leave Amity to help her but can’t stay long before he’s forced back. And Dani might visit but can’t spend too long before she has to leave.
So If this is DPxDC Dani could end up injured and with one of the heroes (maybe the arrows for a change pace) and she explains that there are three halfas. One who is an immediate danger to her, and the other being the only person she truly trusts. Phantom comes to save her and help her but after the danger has passed and Dani is recovering, the heroes notice that he seems to be struggling with something, getting antsy, and almost seeming to get sicker by the day, and they find out about the obsessions. The only other person who cares for this young ghost…and they physically can’t be near each other for long.
