It can’t be happening, no, not in a million years, please no. Jade can NOT be hurt like this, not his baby boy.

Toshi’s eyes are widen with fear, anger, sadness. What happened to his youngest son? Who dared to touch his boy? How could anyone hurt his precious child?

Jade’s blood drips onto the floor, there isn’t much of amount of blood, maybe it’s not long ago that his son got…oh the thought gives Toshi nausea.

Toshi needs to stay calm and focus on Jade, he can have his mental breakdown later. Now he needs to keep a steady mind for the sake of his younger son.

The poor boy is supporting himself with his remaining two attached limbs, oh, Toshi can’t imagine how exhausted and painful it must be for Jade.

Where are Jade’s detached limbs? The doctors can still put the limbs back together, his son can still walk and run, live a healthy life, right?

He can only see a hand that’s supposed to be connected to the arm, far away from Jade. But where is his leg? He can only see the bones of his son’s leg sticking out of the blood dripping flesh, and the muscles that are exposed to the air twitching.

It shouldn’t be happening, please, not in a million years, to any deity that may be listening. Jade can NOT be hurt, not in anyway, just not his baby boy.

Toshi’s mind is fuzzy with sadness, his vision mirroring the disorienting sensation of his brain, starting to blur by his tears. One sentence repeat in his mind, How could you let this happen, you pathetic hero?

With a sharp gasp, Toshi woke up from his nightmare. He lets out a shaky breath, holding onto his face that is covered in tears, trying to anchor himself onto reality.

He’s awake now, it was just a nightmare, then why can’t he shake off the feeling that something will happen to his boys?

He’s already lost his mentor, he doesn’t have the mentality to handle losing another loved one. After wiping the tears on his face, he decided to check on his sons.

He tiptoed through the dark corridor, it’s probably midnight. He decided to check on his older son first, as he peeks into Tenko’s room quietly.

Tenko’s hair is messy, hands over his head, legs spread open. Toshi let out a content sigh, that his older son is sleeping soundly, and quite comfortably at that.

Toshi then walks to his younger son’s room, the one he dreamed of being injured, just the thought of a single scratch on his son gives him a sense of dread.

When Toshi entered the room, seeing Jade surrounded by naps that are sleeping, the peaceful view sends all his worries to the back of his mind.

Toshi gently cups Jade’s cheeks in his hand, his thumbs rubbing the soft skin, as if he’s checking for himself that Jade is real, that his baby boy is safe and unharmed.

“Dad…?” Toshi startled slightly hearing Jade’s sleepy murmur, he was too indulged in admiring his son’s calm expression, he forgot that the boy was such a light sleeper.

Toshi’s eyes soften, feeling that his soul is being warmed by his son’s mere voice. He shushes Jade, wanting his baby boy to go back to sleep, then whispers gently.

“I am here.”
