It takes all my energy to maintain my smile, but the darkness weighs heavy on my heart as much as it does my eye lids. It calls me into abyss while my will to stay afloat falters as the darkness grows into a comfort, the only embrace I feel. I search for something to hold onto and to be held by, and only the darkness lends its hand.

A growing darkness has taken over my mind. Its tendrils search out all corners of consciousness to infect. It seeps into each crevice of my brain, spreading poison where it lies. Its rotting stench permeates every thought.
