someone showed me a video called something like "the dark side of fanservice", and it was unintentionally hillarious because the guy making the video was describing basic storytelling techniques as manipulation like it was nefarious, all with a dramatic voice.

"Some anime will put cool, funny, sexy or romantic scenes on screen to cause your brain to release dopamine, which make you feel content. This trick you into continuing watching against your will!"

Like yeah dude... thats sooooo awful those series have scenes you want to watch...
