;; headcanon : From the moments of his Fall, the Devil has been suffering from psychosis. The sudden loss of holy power and the trauma of his wings being ripped off are what shattered his mind and originally sparked it. The symptoms of psychosis that he suffers the most from are voices (though he tends to chalk this up to the souls of the damned screaming at him from Hell), hallucinations, seeing consistent patterns that others mostly believe to just be coincidence, flashbacks and nightmares, melting/wavy/moving walls that sometimes make him nauseous, color intensification and smearing, and image pulsing and fracturing. He himself is not aware that he suffers from psychosis, much like most patients. He believes that it’s a new form of awareness he gained after his Fall, for he can see both the holy and unholy unlike everyone else.
