Ann Takamaki Week Day 1: Love

Happy Ann Week! I wrote up a oneshot for the Friendship prompt, but I wanted to make a headcanon post on Day 1′s other prompt, Love!  

So when Ren and Anne start dating, Anne is both excited and nervous! She still can’t believe that Ren returned her feelings even though she probably sounded so silly, yelling I love you, I love you, I love you sooooo much! With how busy Anne’s parents are, she was a bit… touch starved. She knows they care for her, but at the same time, she wished that they would show it a little bit more. But at the same time, Anne is a bit nervous about showing her affection more physically. She’s not sure if Ren would be into that, so she holds back. But Ren senses that Anne wants to do more than what she’s doing, so he has a conversation with her about it and manages to coax the issue out of her. Luckily for Anne, Ren also really enjoys physical affection, so he assures her that he wants it from her too. 

Ren and Anne are honestly… not great at hiding their relationship. Ren will sometimes slip up and flirt with Anne in front of the Phantom Thieves. Luckily for them… Ryuji just dismisses it as Ren flirting but not doing something about his feelings for Anne (which leads to Ryuji saying that he needs to go for it already and Ren trolling him by saying he needs to do nothing.) Needless to say, Ryuji is a bit shocked when Ren and Anne announce their relationship after Ren’s release from prison. (The other PTs aren’t nearly as surprised.) 

Shiho knew for MONTHS before Ren and Anne got together that Anne had a biiiig crush on Ren. Anne would ramble on and on to Shiho about how kind and thoughtful Ren is, how he’s always there for her. Shiho’s honestly rather amused by how Anne is head over heels for Ren but she is utterly oblivious. It just gets even more painfully obvious to her when she sees them interact on the rooftop during Anne’s Rank 9. She totally roots for them, and is thrilled to find out that they’re together the first time she and Anne chat after the move. 

Ren sometimes expresses guilt about having to do a long distance relationship with Anne, especially after nearly 2 months of being apart during Ren’s imprisonment. She just smiles at him and says that she can wait a little longer for forever. They may be young, but she knows that feelings like she has for Ren aren’t the run of mill high school romance. They’ve gone through too much together, after all. 

And they do get their forever. Ren proposes to Anne a few months after he graduates from university. Their wedding takes place the year after his proposal, because it was hard to maneuver between Ren’s new job working for Yoshida and Anne sometimes going abroad for shoots. But they manage to settle on things, and the wedding’s a beautiful affair. Ren and Anne decide to write their own vows and they both get really choked up when reciting their vows. Shiho’s the maid of honor and Ryuji’s the best man.
