I read “Silmarillion” again and was once again captivated by the characters and story

Alatáriel, named by her father and mother Artanis Nerwen; meaning noble woman and man-maiden, for her tall stature and prideful strength of will. In Valinor, she grew restless, longing for other worlds to discover, a kingdom to rule for her own. She disliked everything Fëanor stood for, but was united in his desire for vengeance and freedom, until the Kinslaying.

She made no fancy oaths. She just did things. I like that in The Lost Tales, Tolkien wanted to change her backstory to that of a romance, that she would sail to Middle Earth with Celeborn on a romantic adventure together, instead of joining her uncle Fingolfin alone (with her brothers) but that change is not canon.

It was Celeborn who gave her the name Alatáriel, later changed to Galadriel.
