I really wanted to draw Max and Charles in the same style, because they are both great and brilliant drivers with heavy expectations/names on their shoulders and have been rivals since their kart days, but maintaining them different ( Max blends with the black background vs Charles standing out). Alex is not perceived as posh because he is not white and people are racist even if in a subconscious (although for certain sections of the fandom outside of tumblr, very not subconscious) way. Even Im guilty of it, if I’m being honest. But that is just the way that subconscious bias works when you see a person of colour and instantly assume that they cannot possibly be as posh as their white counterparts.

It’s, I think (and this is veering into speculative politics) the same reason why like some non-white politicians in the UK are not seen as posh even thought they actively have more money and are posher than others.

Any of u British or know British F1Blr people? I just got curious about how British people read George, Lando, and Alex's accents respectively. To me (from the US) and a lot of US based fans the accents all kind of sound the same, which is why I think George gets the extra reputation to US fans of sounding "posh" when UK fans don't necessarily perceive him that way.

Meanwhile I've noticed that Alex's accent almost sounds like how the Royal Family talks on The Crown (flattening ahhs into ehhs, like pronouncing "lap" as "lep" and "accent" like "eccent"). And Lando just sounds like. British? IDK.
