Jamie Chadwick was absolutely clobbered today by Caio Collett; a very dangerous yet clear cut case of it being Collett’s fault, made even more dangerous by the nature of the oval course. Luckily it seems both have been seen and released by the fantastic Indy medical team. It’s a very unfortunate situation for Jamie as well because she qualified 2nd, and was running 2/3rd at the time of the crash. HUGE apologies are in order from Collett here—either publicly, behind the scenes, or both.
#outfront showndown#Jamie Chadwick#Indy nxt#this crash seems to be a case of gross negligence#but boy I do understand looking at it how some are saying it looks intentional

Also it’s basically a Live Action Breaking Point…
Someone said that the F1 movie is just a crew following Brad (arm)Pitt as he LARPs and I can’t get it out of my head.

#this has to be some sort of dream for him no?#you can’t tell me this wasn’t all his idea#like why else are we getting a 60 yr old driver as the main character despite them driving for the craziest realism in every other aspect?#f1 movie

Jamie Chadwick wins at Road America! This is her first win in the series.
This is a really significant win because IndyNXT does not have power steering which has traditionally been cited as the “reason” women haven’t been able to make it into higher levels of racing (which of course, is bullshit). Show ‘em how it’s done Jamie!

endless series of women in motorsports:
Katherine Legge (July 12, 1980, England) is a racing driver. In 2001 she was the first woman to receive the BRDC's "Rising Star" accolade. After finances cut her career short in the UK, Katherine moved to the USA in 2004. In November 2005 she became the first woman to test an F1 car since Sarah Fisher did it, in 2002. She competed in the Toyota Atlantic Championship, winning the opening race in Long Beach becoming the first woman to win an open-wheel race in North America. Katherine went on to finish third in the championship with two further wins. She's competed in DTM, IndyCar, Formula E, Daytona, LeMans and IMSA, where in 2023 she finished fourth in her class, returning in 2024. In the 108th run of the Indy500, she drove the No. 51 Honda for Dale Coyne Racing with backing from e.l.f. Katherine holds the record for the fastest qualifying effort for a woman in Indianapolis 500 history, set in 2023.

Really struggling with the whiplash of going from being ecstatic for Lando finally winning to being grossly disappointed in the ignorant way he praised Donald Trump post-race. Doubly disappointed in the number of fans who don't even have the capacity to care about it, especially the ones who claim to be feminists, allies, etc. and have been vicious to drivers and fans for far less.
I don't think some of you understand the damage Lando's words are already doing. Trumpies are already latching onto him with a "one of us" mentality. Just like people didn't rabidly support Kyle Larson until he used a slur or Noah Gragson until he groped a woman/outed himself as racist, this is now a part of Lando's legacy. People will support him solely because he praised Trump.
...unless he comes out and loudly takes it back, which he won't. He's either too much of a PR puppet or too privileged and disinterested to care.
I know he supported BLM, promotes women, does all this good stuff, but none of it matters if he says it's an "honor" to meet someone like Trump. A racist. A fascist. A homophobe. An ableist. A rapist.
I'm so deeply disappointed.

no cause i'm genuinely so angry about this. that man is facing criminal charges, he's a known white supremacist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, a misogynist, a sex offender and he's currently being applauded by the McLaren garage cause why not??? if i were a driver and i would see him in front of my garage i would simply resign. way to go f1, it's getting harder and harder to tolerate this day after day.

But in all seriousness, if you're also unhappy with this, you should:
Unfollow them on all socials.
Not tag McLaren or engage with any of their posts (indirect tags only, especially on twitter so they don't start "trending" and think that it's positive)
Consider finding *other* ways (cough cough streams) to watch so it's not counted in their official numbers.
Stop purchasing merch.
Most importantly, don't stop doing the above after a few weeks go by if they've done nothing.
trump in the mclaren garage
WTF, this weekend just keeps getting worse. I was never a McLaren stan but I unfollowed them on everything. What happened to "no political statements"? Is a man on a campaign trail (and on trial) not political somehow.
Not even joking I'm considering not watching the race now.

Pulling with a win once again! Bustamante fends of Pin to get second and make up for her poor result yesterday.
Chambers a notable 4th place--hopefully on future tracks we'll see her improve her one-lap pace for qualifying; if she does she could be a real contender for the win. Amna Al Qubaisi also gaining an impressive 7 spots from where she started today.
My personal driver of the day of course goes to Abbi Pulling--her lead over the rest of the field in the championship has just gotten that much bigger. She leads the series with 97 points, the next driver being Pin with 66.

Edgar's done a spin and ended up in the wall after a fantastic battle with Marti for 7th. No contact here, just lost the rear heading around the corner, she's now in 15th.
