anyways since there seems to be some confusion on who Sharon Carter is…..
sharon carter is not and has never been “just Captain America’s girlfriend”. In fact she’s actually the one always turning him down when he wants to start the relationship because she wants to focus on her career. and then years down the line sharon was the one who proposed to him.
sharon carter once shot a man to preserve Steve’s morality so he wouldn’t have to live with that weight on his shoulders.
Sharon is an abuse survivor. (Both mentally and sexually). She was tortured and imprisoned and went through a very human arc where she dealt with the impact of these events.
She once took in a young mutant girl who was beaten because she reminded her of herself and felt empathy for her.
Sharon Carter was the first female director of SHIELD.
Sharon Carter fucked up Arnim Zola, Sin, the Red Skull and Zemo
Sharon Carter lost her baby trying to save the world from hydra
Sharon Carter risked her life to save Bucky Barnes even while she was brainwashed and had next to no control over what she was doing. She hadn’t even met him officially but she knew he was important to Steve and was therefore worth saving
Sharon is a huge commitment-phobe. One time Steve said he loved her while they were broken up and she used the cosmic cube to run away to Turkey so fast.
Sharon has a flying car and that’s awesome
She raised Steve’s and her adopted son in an alternate dimension.
Steve Rogers has fantasized multiple times in canon about living a life happily ever after with her. He even painted a mural of her because he missed her so much. She was never “a replacement” for anyone
She has a raging temper and is the world’s most Difficult Person don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
She loves her aunt peggy (who, mind you, is totally different in the comics) so much she visited her constantly while she was in the nursing home.
Nick Fury respects the hell out of her. So does Sam Wilson who considers her one of his closest friends
Sharon was on the secret avengers. She spars with Valkyrie, Captain America, and Black Widow. She’s tough as nails.
She’s friends with Black Widow and Bobbi Morse and they have trivia night and that’s cute as heck.
tldr; she’s amazing. she’s complex and human and flawed and wonderful and doesn’t deserve any of the ire and ugly misogyny the fandom has thrown at her.
