Hello! We wanted to make this post in regards to the banning of TikTok in the United States, and the potential influx of TikTok users onto Tumblr! We've heard that individuals may be curious as to what a physical alterhuman is, and as a system who is bodily physically alterhuman, we are more than happy to explain it by revamping our original explanation.

So, that being said

What is a physical alterhuman?

A physical alterhuman, as the namesake implies, is someone who identifies as alterhuman on a physical level. There is NO set experience for this, just like every other way of experiencing alterhumanity.

Examples of this include, but aren't limited to;

Being able to transform into an alterhuman being, a headmate in a system who may see the body as a physical alterhuman when they front, the "human" appearance being a veil or a glamor, the body simply being alterhuman, etc

Personally, we fall under the category of believing our body's "human" appearance is a veil, and we speculate we are, in reality, a shapeshifter.

A common misconception that's around the alterhuman communities are that ALL physical alterhumans are delusional. And your first instinct may be to try to defend by saying "not all of them are delusional!"

Well, I wanted to say that, even if someone's physical alterhumanity is caused or influenced in any way by delusions, they are still 100% valid and shouldn't be shunned away due to experiencing something like this.

Someone being physically alterhuman for ANY reason doesn't give anyone the right to try to "reality check" them, identity police them, ridicule them, or hate on them. Even if you're trying to do these things in "good intent", you're most likely doing more harm than good! You're talking to a stranger on the internet that you don't know the full story of, and you definitely don't know what's on their kind.

And you may be uncomfortable with physical alterhumans, but if you are, then just steer clear of us! No one is forcing you to be around us, and your discomfort doesn't give you a right to try to push us out of the community. You may think we are "scary" or "too weird", and to that, I say open your eyes.

someone post long personal story to explain anti-physical stance , directly into holothere and other such tags . and while really , really sympathise , and wish no one would have to go through pains like that : that is not reason to hate entire concept of physical identity .

though abuse and cults can exist which focus around physicality , and prey on those with poor judgment or grasp on reality , that is not majority of folks here . this community is not cult any more than wider alterhuman community is cult .

kossai have some absolutely awful experiences with angelkin folks . is that reason to hate angelkin , to denounce all angelkin identities ? no . some angelkin can be cruel and abusive , and certain aspects of angelkin communities could indeed let this fester . but plenty also fight against those attitudes and those aspects - would be unfair to use personal experiences as proof whole community is rotten .

would like to attach some posts which kossai feel relevant , especially to discussion of physicality as " inherently dangerous " .

all true statements - thoughts on lines of religion and delusion .

assumptions , autonomy , and respect - can one assume that physical nonhumanity is always safety risk to individual ?

discernment - is this shift or crisis ? - when signs and shifts might actually be something very , very important to look at .

do reality checks help ? - when help is not so helpful .

wishes - things that kossai believe would actually , materially help folks with delusion , poor grasp on reality , or otherwise .

sometimes , what one think about identity will be wrong . this can be unfortunate , especially if in some way lead to actual harm . but refusal of autonomy , refusal of choice , refusal to let folks express selves and tell stories , will not actually fix that .

for those actually at risk and in crisis , isolation and refusal to respect expressions will do nothing to help . other folks who want to reach out for community and friendship , will instead suffer in silence , or else seek out worse .

yes - truly believe refusal to allow space and language for physicality can only lead to worse pains , as folks seek out more dangerous spaces . if open physical communities do not exist and showcase what safe connections to physicality can look like , and to discuss discernment , distress , and danger in regards to physicality , there is no example by which anyone can judge danger .

but physicality will not stop or disappear just because open communities disappear - if anything , perhaps prevalence of cults was because open communities with these sincere discussions could be so hard to find . folks will still have these experiences , still seek out these words and these spaces . this is truly inevitable , no matter how many cry out against physical identity .

likewise , cruelty will still exist even if try to snuff out all of folks with " bad identities " - cruel people will just find more words to use , more spaces to take up , more strategies to employ . this is why folks have to look at actual attitudes on display , try to understand stories even if uncomfortable .

by all means , block folks if still uncomfortable and still remind of terrible times , terrible triggers . but not fair to cast all as inherently awful folks , on basis of awful personal experiences .

i did NOT read it because i did not give a fuck. you don't get to decide if we exist. i don't care what experiences you have had before with physical nonhumans -- your past does not dictate my present. your opinions don't need to validate my existence.

Maybe it’s more-so me wishing my “human” instincts didn’t get in the way of things, but there’s so many things I WISH I had the instincts for. I’ve got hunger-related instincts, sure, but I want to feel more like me. I want to have territorial instincts.
