Este año tuve el privilegio de ser una de las cineastas del programa "Cinema en Curso" y trabajar a lo largo de todo el curso escolar con los alumnos de 5º y 6º de primaria del CEIP de Tenorio (Cotobade, Pontevedra) en la creación del cortometraje Migallas de tradición. Esta pieza documental sigue a Nito, quien amasa y hornea con esmero las piezas de pan que él mismo distribuye por las aldeas.

This year, I had the privilege of being one of the filmmakers for the Cinema en Curso program and working throughout the entire school year with 5th and 6th-grade students from CEIP de Tenorio (Cotobade, Pontevedra, Spain) to create the short film Migallas de tradición. This documentary piece follows Nito as he carefully kneads and bakes the bread that he personally delivers to the villages.

This time has provided a valuable break after a demanding year, marked by both significant experiences and unexpected achievements.

He obtenido la beca Fulbright destinada a las artes cinematográficas y audiovisuales del Ministerio de Cultura para desarrollar mi primer largometraje en el Center for Ethnographic Media Arts (CEMA) de la University of Southern California (USC) en Los Ángeles, bajo la supervisión de la cineasta, investigadora y antropóloga Stephanie Spray. Este proyecto, a su vez, forma parte de mi investigación predoctoral en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Pontevedra.

I have been awarded the Fulbright scholarship for cinematographic and audiovisual arts from the Ministry of Culture of the Spanish Goverment to develop my first feature film at the Center for Ethnographic Media Arts (CEMA) at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, under the supervision of filmmaker, researcher, and anthropologist Stephanie Spray. This project is also part of my predoctoral research at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Pontevedra.

Amarillo atlántico at the Saigon Experimental Film Festival in Vietnam, where will be screened within the Program 3: shhhhhhh.. : "The archetype of domination often operates to obscure and suppress, weaving its own web to stabilize hierarchies and regulate the emergence of alternative voices. These films pivot towards the seemingly hidden and unspeakable - invisible ink, stone, the phallus, fetus or silence itself - considering them as potential sites to disrupt existing paradigms and enable other forms of knowledge."

On my way to the Porto Post Doc Festival, where I’ll be pitching my new project “Memória desbotada” as part of Working Class Heroes. A project that took shape last summer, thanks to my artist residency in Pedreira. It will take place on Wednesday 22 Nov at 18h in Batalha Cafetaria & Bar.
