My first original post. This is somewhat of a "reference" that I made last year for a guro-tan designing contest, at gurochan. Her name is "Micaela".

A friend of yours was born with a condition that predisposes her to an extremely high level of visceral fat. She doesn’t seem particularly overweight but the problem is not on the surface, it’s on the inside. The high level of visceral fat can be very dangerous with the same possible consequences of extreme obesity or hypercolesterolemia, consequences that usually involve the cardiovascular system. Sadly, she experienced a myocardial infarction at her early thirties. After an important damage, heart cells are basically unable to regenerate and all the lost tissue is substituted by a non-functional connective tissue. To avoid heart failure at 30s, during surgery that followed the acute event, doctors implanted on her heart an experimental device that is able to detect ventricular electrical activity and self contract during systole, basically helping the heart to beat. The device is also connected to an external computer that analyzes the heart rhythm and can occasionally turn the internal device into a defibrillator. Her life was saved and she returned to her normal life (with some special indications). Curiously she’s actually able to feel the continuous and rhythmic device contractions in the form of a gentle massage directly realized on her heart.

She knows that you are working on a scintific project with an invisibility serum and being very interested in “heart-related things” she asks you to participate; her peculiar condition would be an interesting adjunct to your work.

The session starts, she undresses (she’s quite attractive to you, actually), she strike a pose and get ready to receive the infusion. You decide to use a quite strong dose to make her heart completely visible but divided into different injections in different areas on her chest to avoid systemic effects. Few seconds after the administration, all the structures that cover her heart start to disappear. The skin, the pectorals and the intercostal muscles, her left breast, the left portion of her ribcage, even her left lung and her pericardium become completely invisible, revealing what’s on the inside. Her heart is now completely exposed. Her condition can be clearly detected now. A layer of adipose tissue covers everything you can look at and especially her heart shows important deposits. It appears slightely enlarged and the scar from her infarction is clearly visible as a white-gray stain, with that portion of her heart muscle basically immobile (revealing the importance of the device). That implant is particularly intriguing: each time it detects a beat it sparks a flebile light and squeezes her heart. You can also see the cable that connect the internal device with the external unit.

Obviously she’s a cardiophile and obviously she asked a mirror to look at herself during the procedure. The exact time after she saw her real beating heart for the firs time an overload of adrenaline is released in her bloodstream and her heart rate skyrockets. The device is not designed to sustain high HRs so the external unit goes into allarm and starts beeping desperatly, trying to catch her attention so she can calm down (absolutely impossible right now).

Concerned you ask her: “Are you ok? that machine seems disappointed”. “I feel completely breathless, my chest burns and hurts and the previously gentle massage on my heart has become a series of punches… but I can’t stop staring at that pulsating thing in the center of my chest!” She replies with a small voice.

The moment is extremely intense for her, she looks hypnotized, she’s breathing so heavily it seems she has done a marathon… her heart contractility is already compromised and the machine that makes it beating is at its design limits, contracting so hard that all the remaining visible parts of her body are moving with each contraction. Scared to assist to a live cardiac arrest you convice her to sit down and have a rest. You administer her the antidote to the invisibility serum and give her a blanket. She closes her eyes and starts breathing normally. You can try again a next time.

Della went for some follow up after she faint during photo shoot few days ago. But little that she knows what’s waiting for her.

Again, English is not my first language, hence the sentences might sounds cringey hahaha.

Also god.... a weak enlarged heart of a chubby girl getting tortured ? SIGN ME TF UP.

This Idea just suddenly came to my mind. I always draw these chubby girl so might as well make a story for her when I am still in the mood hehe.

So Della is a very chubby girl and she has been insecure for the rest of her life. Then one day a random director/producer scouted her to be a model for a new fashion trend that caters the plus size women. Just when Della just about to get the hand of being a model, she suddenly got a heart attack in the middle of the shooting. Her heart is weakening and her extra weight put more strain to her heart. What will happen next ?

Sorry English is not my first language hence the weirdness. But more or less it’s about an obese girl with a heart condition due to her weight. I personally love a heart of an obese person that need to struggle to pump the blood. Hopefully I will have more idea and time to work on this sketches hahahaha.
