Reminder they want to increase the budget for ICE from 3.5 to 45 billion dollars.

Reminder the majority of that will be for building new detention centers.

Reminder ICE are *currently* detaining tourists who can pay for a plane ticket home and people with visa issues that were already resolved, because they have to make quota so Trump can brag about the numbers going up.

Reminder most of these people were already in the immigration system - that's why they were easy to detain.

Reminder this is all at taxpayer expense.

Headcanon: Obadiah Stane was always a HYDRA plant. After Howard’s assassination (also at HYDRA’s hands), he was meant to take over Stark Industries, but when they realized Tony was a genius level intellect, they had Stane groom the then-teenager into an iron monger to produce weapons for HYDRA’s ongoing mission to destabilize the world. Hence all the double dealing under the table, it wasn’t just profit motivated, it was ideological.

But Stane got greedy, and jealous of Tony’s success and charisma, as the film demonstrated, and so he arranged the hit on him without HYDRA’s consent or knowledge. Which is the only reason why they allowed Agent Coulson to follow up on Pepper’s tip. They were furious that not only did Stane attempt to destroy one of their assets, but that asset returned from captivity in a bleeding edge power armor, hellbent on being the single greatest threat to their operations since Steve Rogers.

I swear to god, when Stane stole the arc reactor from Tony’s chest, gloating about putting the power back in “their” hands, he was probably a hair’s breath away from whispering “Hail Hydra” in Tony’s ear. The whole Iron Monger scheme in the third act was one part an attempt to win back HYDRA’s favor, and one part escape attempt, because what did HYDRA have at that time to suppress something like that?
