it is once again time for me to tell YOU about the books i've been reading, dear Tumblr user!

i've been getting back into my Greek myth phase and haven't had the energy to pick up a physical book for the past few days. so, i've been listening to Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan!

As always, spoilers under the button.

I will say: 9/10 (PLEASE TELL EACH OTHER WHAT YOU FEEL THIS WOULD BE SO MUCH EASIER IF YOU ALL STOPPED KEEPING SECRETS)

now for the spoilers:

Pan's death was a good ending to Grover's character arc. it made sense seeing as the legends already said that Pan had died.

Dionysus coming in at the end was heartbreaking. at the same time though, you named your twin sons Castor and Pollux and didn't expect one to die? i always thought the twins got the short end when it came to being at camp (seeing as their dad is there and they still have to sacrifice to him and various other things) but you've gotta feel so bad for Pollux.

The romance between Percy and Annabeth is great! one problem, i can't stand slowburn. just kiss already you two and get it over with.

Mrs. O'Leary is precious and we love her!

Daedalus had an awesome arc. I knew the legends of Icarus and his father before the reveal, but the way the books handled Daedalus' grief, punishment, and remorse were great.

Juniper and Grover are a power-couple!

i need to see more love for my guy Tyson in the fandom.

Welcome to yet another DovahReads! (i'm calling it that now)

not much in the way of physical books got perceived today. i did listen to and finish the third Percy Jackson book "The Titan's Curse" by Rick Riordan.

i'll do a spoiler free review and then leave spoilers below a read more thing or something.

first off, the twists and turns had me *SCREAMING*

i loved the monster inclusions, they were very creative and had me like that meme of the guy on the couch pointing

also, Athena at the end... :0

Mr. D is also funny as always!

now for the spoilers...

also, Nico running off at the end was heartbreaking

then when Pan gets mentioned!

also when Thalia goes off with Artemis, i was kind of mad. we get all that build up only for Thalia to be like "i don't wanna grow up, i'm a Toys R Us kid" and dip on who was essentially her younger sister, previous guardian and good friend, and a fellow child of the Big Three

Bessie and Black Jack were adorable and i hope to see more of Black Jack

i also am loving how Riordan parodies an ancient story with each book. Sea of Monsters being the Odyssey, Titan's Curse being the tales of Heracles, and (i'm assuming) Battle of the Labyrinth being the story of Theseus minus the exiling

I’ve recently finished Sea of Monsters by Riordan

I’m rereading the second Hitchhiker’s Guide by Adams

And I’ve just finished the prologue to King’s Salem’s Lot

I think it’s great that I am sick once again, as it frees my time to read.

Soon, I’m planning to read a book I bought from the author at a Renaissance Faire: The Echoes of Those Before by James Daniel Ross

I’m also book-clubbing the fifth Green Mile novella with my father

Overall, lots of King and takes from the imaginations of madmen
