*emerges* (kind of…?)
Summer (and leading into the fall) took a huge toll on me and my mental health. There was a lot of flying around and family and friend obligations that took a lot out of me. I knew that this year would be the year for that, had planned everything out, did everything…but I didn’t realize how much it took out of me. I mean, it was fun, don’t get me wrong, it’s just that I put all my energy into it.
And then realizing in September(!) that I had none for myself. I didn’t take care of myself properly during this time. I had a vacation, but in between were all the commitments I had to do, and so that felt like nothing in the face of it all.
I had to veg out and do absolutely nothing.
Sorry for the hiatus; it’s just that I had burned everything out and needed a breather. I’ll come back (hopefully in the near future), but for now, I’m still recovering from it all.

I’m in Paris right now for the Olympics (going to watch men’s volleyball semis, I’m very excited!)
I’m also writing, I’m almost done writing the next chapter of “these hands had to let it go…”. It’s much longer than I expected, but I just need to wrap up the ending and upload it 💯
The expectation is that I’ll get both this chapter and the next chapter of CelebrityChef out by this week, but I’m pretty jet lagged, so we’ll see.
Also thinking of writing a one-shot now that I’m here…

I focused on writing the next chapter of 'These hands had to let it go...'
The structure of the chapter is there, I just need to fill in the gaps, so maybe another 1000-ish words to go.
The plan is to post it by Monday, but this weekend is going to be pretty busy...
Summer's just been extremely busy this year for some reason.
I'll work on the next chapter of CelebrityChef after this and try to get that chapter out by the following weekend, provided work doesn't kick my butt (I have a lot of deadlines, but I'm hoping it doesn't bleed through to my non-working hours...)

Finally free!
I’ve got 4 hours to kill before my flight, so I’m writing the next chapter of CelebrityChef 🙌🏻
Although my brain is dead from the exam, so the writing might be less than the usual…

You have no idea how excited I am for this 1-week vacation (of which I have to still work for a couple of days, because I'm still busy this month).
I get some time to do some writing! Which means the next chapter of CelebrityChef is being written!
Snippet of snippets of the next chapter:
And as ludicrous as it all was in those last few days, it was time to wake up and face reality.
The next few days were filled with customers curious about the filming at the restaurant, and had Nene not been privy to these conversations, she would have thought that the whole thing was nothing more than a figment of her imagination. Certainly, the filming had generated quite a lot of buzz amongst the regulars, and filled the neighbourhood with pride that a restaurant was being featured in a local documentary food series.
But soon afterwards, life returned to normal, as much as normal could be, anyway. Nene spent her days working at the restaurant, and what free time she had left was spent on her hobbies.

Posted! One less thing on the to-do!
“I met my soulmate today,” Nene told him. “And?” Isshiki stopped to look at her. “Are you leaving me?” “Don’t be silly,” Nene said. The thought hadn’t even crossed her mind. Except it appeared to be in Isshiki’s. “Why—would you leave, if you met your soulmate?” “I already met mine,” Isshiki dismissed. That was news to Nene. “When?” Nene asked, hurt that he didn’t tell her until now. “Does it matter?” Isshiki asked, sidestepping the question. She had many more questions. “What happened?” Nene began her interrogation. “Nothing happened,” Isshiki stressed.
Isshiki and Nene aren’t soulmates, and yet they choose to be together and defy fate. That is, until Nene meets her soulmate.

Almost done writing the next one-shot, just wrapping up the ending before I upload it! I meant to do that over the weekend, but I ended up going on a hike with a friend/recovering from a hike.
Also started writing Chapter 9 of Celebrity Chef--I'm surprised that I was able to start writing it without much trouble after a long hiatus. However, I haven't decided on how long this chapter will be, which will impact when the chapter will come out. But also I need to focus on studying for my exam (which is one month from now) along with work and other things...June's a pretty busy month for me...

FINALLY FINISHED WRITING THIS ONE-SHOT AND NOW IT'S POSTED!
Just decided to hammer out the ending and write until I finished it today. Also thanking the Jujutsu Kaisen OST for pulling this through to make this happen, because without it, I would have pushed it and read some webtoons...
“Isn’t that Isshiki?” Rindou-senpai asks suddenly, pointing out the window, and Nene turns around to look. Sure enough, it was Isshiki standing across the street, talking to a girl beside him. Rindou-senpai waved from the window, but Isshiki didn’t see them, too engrossed in his conversation with the girl. “Who’s that with him?” Rindou-senpai asks, and Nene squints, but shrugs when she can’t identify her. Probably another one of Isshiki’s Polar Star Dormitory kouhais that he’d been raving about lately. Nene had thought nothing of it. Until she sees the girl standing up on her tiptoes to press a kiss on Isshiki’s cheek playfully. “Oh, Nene,” Rindou-senpai gasps, her hand over her mouth.
There was one thing Nene knew for certain all her life: Isshiki was her soulmate, and she was going to marry him in the future. But she never knew that might not be something that Isshiki would want.

Writing Updates:
I'm writing 2 one-shots; one was in the backburner and I started the other one recently.
The backburner one-shot needs about 1000 more words; I'm just editing what I have and deciding where to wrap things up.
The new one-shot has all the structure of the story, I just need to fill in the gaps, maybe another 1000 more words as well?
So I figure that I'm going to wrap up both one-shots and post both up as a double feature.
I'm also writing my novel, so fanfiction writing has been pushed to the side as I try to get the first draft of this thing going. The thing is, I'm usually not certain about anything; and yet this novel is something I feel certain about. I know this will be good. But the other thing is that writing it evokes so many emotions from it (mostly crying). I think this might be my best work yet.
Also I have an idea for an original short story; I wrote the structure of it, but that's kind of percolating in my brain as well.

*peeks out*
I'm slowly getting back to writing again.
I think I got a bit overwhelmed with everything again and took on too many things at once.
I think I need a way to organize everything so I don't get too overwhelmed.
For now, get myself organized, then I'll get back to writing and uploading again.
Fingers crossed I post something up in May.
Sorry for the hiatus--I really needed the break though!

I've also been writing original stories. Here is a snippet:
What a strange phenomenon where time appeared to stop completely when boredom began to prick through the pores, seeping through muscle and settling into his bones. Ran could feel himself aging faster the longer he’d sat in the stifling classroom, watching chalk dust fall and coat the floor as his teacher wrote down symbols and equations on the blackboard.
On Ran's right, the scratching of the pencil against the notebook was steadily at hand, scribbling away along the margins of doodles. And Ran was well aware of the person in front of him nodding off in sleep, too far gone from the clutches of boredom to be saved.
-------
It's a time loop. I thought of the saddest love story ever, put it in a time loop, and then started writing what happened at a random section of the time loop.

I'm writing again. The thing is, in between the time of not writing and writing, I ended up getting a new laptop. So I still need to recover all my documents to update the WIPs.
In the meantime, I'm taking advantage of wanting to write again by writing a new story. Currently in a billion pieces now, but here's basically the premise of the story:
“I met my soulmate today,” she told him.
“And?” Isshiki turned to look at her. “Are you leaving me?”
“Don’t be silly,” Nene said. The thought hadn’t even crossed her mind.
Except it appeared to be in Isshiki’s. “Why—would you leave, if you met your soulmate?”
“I already met mine,” Isshiki dismissed.
That was news to Nene.
“When?” Nene asked, hurt that he didn’t tell her until now.
“Does it matter?” Isshiki asked, sidestepping the question.
She had many more questions.
“What happened?” Nene pushed.
“Nothing happened,” Isshiki stressed.

Brief hiatus.
Haven’t been in the writing mood lately; on top of that, I found more webnovels to read and it’s…becoming unmanageable. There are spreadsheets and lists (reading and to read) and I’m definitely going to learn some Korean because of webnovels…yeah. At the least I can say that there are worse vices to become obsessed with, but it’s consumed a lot of my time lately.
I think I just need to take a break; I’ll hopefully come back in April 🤞🏻

Writing the one-shot…it might end up being a two-shot. Lot of angst in what I thought was going to be a quick and lighthearted story. It went downhill so fast. Whoops.
Mostly because I don’t condone cheating, and I don’t think Nene does either. I think the second part will have to be Isshiki’s POV.
Just thoughts as I try to wrap up this story and hopefully get it out in the next couple of days.

Posted the next chapter; had to make the last scene from scratch, so it took a bit longer than I thought, but done! Onto the next chapter of "These hands had to let it go..." (although I want to write the one-shot...)
