me, my mom, and my sister have been living in hotels for the past 2+ months after getting kicked out by my mom's abusive ex i'm a trans man, my mom is a senior, and all three of us are disabled and mentally ill. we also have a small dog and a senior cat with us we had to put most of our belongings in storage and we're currently 4 hours away from where we used to live. my mom will be starting a job soon, but she won't be making enough for us to get an apartment yet we could really use some help paying for hotels and storage. we have no other options right now
anything you could spare would be greatly appreciated, and if you have nothing to offer, spreading this post still helps please don't tag this post as d*nation, m*tual a!d, or anything else that could get it hidden by tumblr p*yp*l: @EliseMonet1 c*sh*pp: $EliseMonet5

I've seen a fair amount of fat liberation activists explain that they have always been fat, they're not about to stop, and that's natural and beautiful and fine. That's an incredibly important message.
What I've seen less - and what I want to remind people of - is this: if you've become fat, that's also natural and beautiful and fine.
When you're a fat person who has been thin in the past, that comes with its own brand of shaming. People take your history of thinness as proof that you don't have to be fat. You often fear the look of disappointed surprise in the eyes of someone you haven't met since you were thin. People try to determine "what happened". They don't see your fat body as just you, but as a sort of symptom that isn't part of you.
Becoming fat is not a tragedy, it's not a sign of failure, it's not a bad or shameful thing. The thin you is not the Real you. You are always real and always worthy of freedom, respect and peace. You are allowed to be fat no matter how or when you became fat.

Julian Bashir underperformed and was chemically changed by his parents at the age of 6. Do you hear me???? Are you fucking listening ?????!?? I’m holding him so close to my heart I am placing him inside my rib cage and I am keeping him so warm and safe in there. Julian Julian Julian Annoying and Compassionate to a FAULT. He missed a question on his starfleet medical exam so that he would come in second. He didn’t think he had any right to be prioritized for his brightness. ARE YOU FUCKING LISTENING? He was engineered to succeed and he is Succeeding and it’s all a lie. He wasn’t even given a CHANCE. His parents Forced him into Starfleet Medical and he counts himself blessed every day that Medicine could be something he came to love and admire. He is a brown queer man. He is a genius. His every achievement feels bittersweet because of the horrible thing his parents did to him. He ran as FAR away from them as possible the moment he could, his whimsical smile at “frontier medicine”, the smile of a man who has been dreaming about the other side of the galaxy from the moment he realized what they’d done to him. And he is alive and has accepted his condition and allows himself to feel pride in himself. Allows himself to love recklessly. Can anyone fucking hear me?

asexual activism is PART of sex positivity. education about asexuality is part of sex education. speaking openly about sex, defying repressive sexual norms, and encouraging people to be comfortable with and enjoy their "unconventional" sexual lives all needs to include the messaging that not wanting sex is fine and that saying "no" every time is not only acceptable but good if that's what you really want. asexuality is not the opponent of sex positivity, it's another arm of it.

hey uh queer from germany here and yes i concur this is also a thing over here
There is an absolutely infuriating trend of city queers assuming that no queer person could possibly want to stay and live and establish a home in a rural community, and none of us could possibly have a vested interest in staying and improving the communities we already live in. They act like all of us dream of moving to Portland or Seattle or the Bay Area or some other gentrified-to-fuck, capitalist-nightmare-with-a-shitty-rainbow-facade city, and to hell with our icky redneck homes.
I'm tired of the kind of people who come on tumblr to reblog endless stuff about how much they want to live a cottagecore life, while also being aggressively classist toward poor, rural, working-class queer folks who genuinely love their homes and communities and are making the best of dangerous situations.
