Someone was talking about Mary Shelley being "problematic" and I asked why, and apparently she had a relationship with some guy while he was married. This person is happy to read books by racist and sexist authors and adores Harry Potter. Apparently cheating compromises moral integrity, but bigotry is fine.
#aromantic#It would be nice if someone could explain it to me in a way that makes sense#From my perspective cheating is either a thing that is rude#or if it has serious issues they are the result of a more important problem#(for example it could have been an issue for this guy to run off and leave his wife because she may have been financially reliant on him#but that would have been more of an issue of women's rights and lack of social security).
