An Ace Attorney Christmas Carol

Im watching my friend play the original Ace Attorney trilogy for the first time and I didn't remember how effortlessly funny Edgeworth is

This man is introduced as this ruthless prosecutor who isn't above cheating, manipulating witnesses and presenting fake evidence to get what he wants, they make him sound like some cold master mind who is always 3 steps ahead of you and for like half a case he really looks as such.

And then Redd White gets introduced and this man is actively fighting the urge to become a murderer himself for the remaining of the case. Cut to the Steel Samurai case and again and it's even more hilarious, he's worked with Phoenix in a total of TWO cases but he's already questioning his values and actively harming his own case because he recognizes Phoenix is right about who the real murderer is and he is "saddled with unecessary feelings" over a man he hasn't talked to since elementary school (not like Phoenix is any better)

Also his whole behavior during the Vazquez interrogation??? Peak comedy. Phoenix gets scolded for hitting the desk and he goes scold him too but immediately smacks his own desk too and has to fall in awkward silence. Don't even get me started on the whole "I thought I would come up with something while objecting... but no." when the judge was going to end the trial, there is a second of silence as the judge is like "well, uh, after that weird failed objection guess we really can end the trial-" "OBJECTION!" "AGAIN?"

(28) Ace Attorney comic 02- thinking…

Phoenix Wright looks like your average cheery protagonist but he is exasperated by everything and constantly thinking sarcastic one-liners about how stupid everyone else is (including his own friends).

Miles Edgeworth’s sprites make him look like he is about to murder a man but in reality he cant because he’s too busy thinking about his samurai show special interest and having staring contests with himself in the mirror and saying ergo and eureka in the lamest possible contexts.
