Hello, I’m Farah. Since the war started on October 7th, my family and I have faced severe hardships. We first sought safety in Gaza but had to move to Khan Yunis on October 13th, where we lived in a cramped UNRWA shelter for three months with inadequate food, water, and sanitation. Despite being in a UNRWA facility, we endured bombings and a siege, leading to our evacuation.

Now in Al-Zawaida, we continue to suffer from constant explosions, lack of medical care, and high transportation costs. We're also dealing with poor air quality due to makeshift fuel solutions and health problems from cooking with firewood.

We are dying. We are living the hardest days of our lives. The war is back. Fear, hunger, oppression and displacement. My children are trembling with fear and hunger. Imagine for a moment that they are your children.

reject the western gaze!

mutual aid means no hierarchy between givers and receivers

a new mutual aid org, Bridge of Solidarity, has been established in the gaza strip by 17 year old poet yazan mohammed in response to the exploitative practices conducted by some charities and encouraged by the existing charity-based model of fundraising for gaza. according to BoS: "the western attention economy and pity economy plays a large role in who lives or dies in gaza." essentially, people need to make themselves marketable in order to receive lifesaving aid; people who are not marketable die. yazan himself wrote about the damage this can do to one's self image, which you can read here.

after trying for a year to respect his own privacy, my friend siraj was also pressured into posting images of his son's emaciated body in order to gain sympathy from westerners.

we cannot keep forcing people to do this anymore.

here's a declaration of their values from bridge of solidarity's most recent post:

Our organization is against the Western gaze. We refuse to humiliate people. We refuse to force people to take photos. We refuse to force people to take photos with our flyer or logo. People will receive aid freely without being forced to pose. We will respect people's privacy completely. Our principles include autonomy, dignity, sovereignty, mutual respect, and mutual aid.

this org will prioritize giving aid to people without phones or social media, who do not speak english, and who do not have outside support or living parents. these are the people who are not palatable to westerners but who deserve to live with as much dignity as everyone else

Greetings! I hope you do not mind me sending this in your ask box, but I was just going through my blog to tidy everything up a little bit and came across your wonderful Kabru artwork that I reblogged, which made me remember I completely forgot to check out your other artworks!

Now that I've done that, I just wanted to stop by and quickly say that I think your art style is wonderful! It's kind of sharp and angular, but very flexible as well, and I really like how it looks! It's cartoony in a way that scratches my brain right, and I especially love that aforementioned Kabru artwork! The one that says "Immaculate surface." I really hope you don't mind, but I just want to gush about it a little.

This man truly does have an immaculate surface, and the way you drew his hair, his pleasant expression, as well as his shiny armor looks amazing! The armor especially looks REALLY good in my opinion! The lighting hits it just right, and it looks delightfully sharp, which goes really well with your art style. I also just love all the glowy sparkles and the way the background shines behind him. I don't know if it's intentional, but the sketchy lines on the big star with the white outlines makes it look artificial, like he manually put it there, which goes incredibly hard! What I love the most though, is the way you drew the gradually darker sketches of his expressions behind the star. They've been drawn incredibly well, and I am obsessed by the way it's depicted as a gradual descent, like he has his hand on his chin at first while looking around nervously, before covering his mouth, then the sides of his face, and then the entirety of it. It looks very visceral, and I think you pulled it off wonderfully; especially with how they get darker and darker, with more lines in the background to make it look more suffocating.

There are so many other artworks that I love as well, like the one with Fleki and Lycion, or the one with Ango Sakaguchi in chibi form! Never seen Budou Stray Dogs, but that fella has one fancy suit! I won't bother you by raving about those as well, though. Wouldn't want to be a nuisance. Again, I really hope you do not mind, and I wish you a great rest of your week! I hope you enjoy drawing as much as I enjoy looking at it! All of it's splendid!

now feels like a good time to reiterate that Iranians have been martyred by america + israel already, both empires that possess nuclear weapons, and that Iran does not have nuclear weapons. so now is not the time to joke about america getting nuked-- any retaliation on Iran's part is justified and the only way we escape this situation, but Iran is not going to nuke us, because the entire premise that Iran has nukes is how america justified bombing them and also the exact same rhetoric we used against Iraq and how we killed my countrysmen when there was again no evidence of nuclear warfare. New York City is not going to get fucking nuked. go listen to a podcast or something
