Silver Pox infected share one experience in common: When the memories of their experience of being infected surface, it is akin to recalling a strange dream or a childhood memory - details are never quite right, and there are typically hard cuts in the memories themselves between specific actions.

The infected that are known for "looping" only remember one loop, and any event that would have broken said loop, chronologically.

Infected victims who have been cured almost never mention actually seeing Silver Pox's proper mass, no matter the kind of infected they are... unless they took the disease on willingly. Only one willing infected has ever been interviewed, but more on that another day.

The memories of the infected either refuse to imprint as a biological response to Silver Pox, or as a magical effect of the disease itself.

The infected who do not loop, who remember their time as a dream, describe the sensation as "profoundly hollow", a deprivation of not only the senses, but the mind itself.

The best description would be a true loss of identity - not even searching for a memory of who they once were, instead truly and wholly a member of a greater mass. Nothing left but a husk, shaped like something that once existed, acting as that which it is now:

The infection of a "Patient Zero" in regards to Silver Pox has never been documented or seen, by mortal, deity, or victim alike. No "Patient Zero" has ever survived infection, in any plane in any Dalum within the Arborami. The witnesses to such an event have also never survived - god or mortal.

That being said, we have a solid log of several "Patient Zero" individuals.

Patient Zero Prime, the creator of Silver Pox was supposedly a mortal-born deity, who domained in memory and life, specifically. This deity, being mortal-born, would have "partial divinity" as other deities would describe it.

Meaning, if a human for example were to rise to godhood with a debilitating illness, such a thing would be amplified as a god.

Whatever it was that Zero Prime developed or amplified as a deity, it created Silver Pox. Zero Prime's entire world has since been overtaken, down to its very core.

Black Bubblegum is a hallucinogenic narcotic which utilizes the properties of the early stages of Despair Disease, combined with an arcane catalyst to grant powerful, temporary magic, as well as a potent euphoria. Unfortunately, this is also highly addictive and the side effects ARE the symptoms of Despair Disease.

A person cured of this affliction retains a few key changes to their body:

Their blood (and all veins) retains the color of the entity in question, their eyes occasionally shifting hue to such a color as well. The victim's organs also retain this color change, save, once again, for the hippocampus.

Angel Flu.

Called Angel Flu because it was first discovered when patient zero - an unfortunate priest by the name of Father Chansley - met an angel's true form, Angel Flu is more often contracted through improper preparation when meeting the incomprehensible (although entities of Tarr and Gods seem to be an exception, due to Despair Disease and Arcana Poisoning seeming to have taken its place.)

Angel Flu begins with a fever, as the body's immune system rejects the very thought of such an entity existing - however, thoughts and memories cannot be killed by excessive heat, so the body moves on to attempting to cough the thoughts out. This does not work either, and as such the memories are treated as a.. poison, the body begins to reject it through vomiting.

Once again, no success. The memories and thoughts linger in the mind, the immune system destroying itself in progressively more dangerous ways as it eventually overheats, all of the symptoms occurring at nearly all times, and eventually..

The coughing begins to cause blood to spout from the mouth. Blood that is the most prevalent color of whatever entity the victim witnessed - ranging from pink, to green, to orange or white, etc. Soon, the vomiting follows suit.

Autopsy of victims who die, typically from blood loss, malnutrition, brain death due to internal temperature or sleep deprivation as a result of this illness show results as follows:

Victims' internal organs are entirely liquefied, turning into a substance with the consistency of blood but the color of the entity which caused the flu.

Victims' nervous systems, and blood vessels have all also changed in a similar manner, though the hippocampus of the brain remains perfectly intact - so much so that it still provides electrical signals as if it were fully functional until it is entirely removed from the body, in which case it goes dormant.

The rest of the body decays as normal, save for the smell, an indescribable smell which invokes a feeling of nostalgia.

Cures are limited, requiring one of three options:

Lichdom or Vampirism, as undead are unaffected by this illness.

Total, regulated sensory deprivation for 24 hours, allowing the body to do nothing but process the memory.

Memory rewrite/removal using memory magic, which also must remove all memories of remembering the entity.
