Actually Sans can perfectly understand Wingdings and other skeletons could technically also understand him

It's just any other type of monster that wouldn't be able to understand him

Must be frustrating...

But he's got other ways to communicate

He can talk on the regular undertale font all the other characters use for certain amounts of time, if he puts some effort in it

(This is based on the fact that Sans can change font for short periods of time in undertale, so maybe other skeletons can too!

Also, in Deltarune, the voice we assume is Gaster is talking in the regular undertale font, not wingdings.)

If it's not a spoiler, could you give any insight on the brothers living situation rn? Have they always lived in Snowdin? and if so, is/hows their house different from how it is in the present?

I think it'd be funny if they just had futons in the lab and Wingdings is just like "Yup! I havent been outside the lab in 8 months!"

They do have the house in Snowdin!

But they haven't been there in a while so it needs some maintenance... apart from that, it's the same house

Then they got the job at the lab and well... having everything you need to live in the place you work at is convenient!

Sans leaves more often, he likes going out to eat instead of cooking. And he doesn't like being in the lab all day, so if Wingdings asks him to go for something he'll do it

And yet at meetings hes either a no show, or his brother is there on behalf of him (I assume, at least)

Either way I had fun making this cause ITS JUST SO FUNNYCDHHBDE and I adore Papyrus and Undynes relationship I really gotta draw something between em. ITS SO UNDERRATED! And a lot of the content I see is really flanderizing both of them so :(

Currently, my favorite potential Forgettable!AU Gaster and Papyrus dynamic:

My personal favorite interpretation of what Papyrus and Gasters relationship (whether it be (grand)father/son, or just mentor and trainee) would be like, is them both being equally as enthusiastic about everything, and in general just matching each others energy 100% 😭 ITS SO AMAZING ITS ALWAYS A TREAT WHEN A COMIC PORTRAYS THEM AS SUCH

“GASTER!!!!” “PAPYRUS!!!” “GUESS WHAT I DID TODAY!!!!” “WHAT DID YOU DO MY SON?????” “I FINISHED THAT PUZZLE I WAS WORKING ON!!!” “OH MY GOD!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! GIVE IT TO ME RIGHT NOW!!!!”

SO ANYWHO, taking that dynamic and shoving it into this AU is currently my favorite thing to think about

Then its even better with Wingdings being canonically unnerved by Papyrus, and being (ID IMAGINE) not too thrilled with being in the same room as Gaster for too long.

I wanna make a Seinfeld ass sitcom series of all 3 of them living in an apartment together and also Sans and/or Alphys visits periodically

Gaster and Papyrus are like staring daggers at the newspaper puzzles tryna solve em, and Wingdings comes in all tired with a cup of coffee and as he’s about to greet them they both go “SHH!!!”

They’d kinda be like Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward

There would be a running gag where they would always find clearly unintentional hidden messages in the horoscope because of the letters that they correspond to in the wingdings font

Gaster would just randomly talk in like jokerman font because he can

They should all have a group name like- “Papyrus and Co” or “The Three Skeleclones”

Did Wingdings ever draw as a kid? I personally headcanon/consider Papyrus an artist because of him painting the bridge n all that- wondering if thats the case for this AU too!

YES

I have that same headcanon for Papyrus and it works great with Wingdings too! But he mostly does technical drawings for prototypes now :]

The fact that Wingdings loved Hotland is kind of hilarious since Papyrus HATES it there - or more accurately he hates conveyor belts, lasers, and steam vents... so pretty much The Core as a whole.

Which... is sad in a Papyrus was Wingdings AU regardless of why he now hates those puzzle elements.
