may be a hot take but i think the fact minors can access 18+ content by just clicking a button that says 'yes im totally over 18 trust me' is like. totally fine tbh. its a non-issue. i dont care if curious teenagers are looking at porn. they've been doing that for as long as porn has existed. id rather teens explore their sexuality through images on the internet than rush into real life experiences when they're not ready for it yknow. the UK is trying to put stricter age verification in place (which in turn is becoming an online privacy nightmare) and like. for what. who is it helping. why is this a problem.

*queue aromantic-stuck-inside-a-fanfic-trope voice* wait you're telling me our fake dating scheme to trick your parents into thinking you've been in a relationship was a set-up plot device for us to fall in love? oh man I thought we were just having a good time! yea, yea me too! I love you man but I was mainly happy to do you a solid. of course- I always got you. hey, y'know I'm always down for some solid platonic hand-holding and cuddles when you need it. yea, be safe out there man! hope you don't get stuck in a theres-only-one-bed trope unwillingly!!

Something i wish someone would have told me as a kid:
Draw without worrying about what the final product looks like. Write short stories about anything you think of. Sketch whenever you can. Grab your old paints and canvas and put color to it. Turn on your favorite song and sing. You dont even have to finish your pieces, just go until youre done. If you want, watch tutorials and draw that way. Just create. If you dont have the tools, draw in the sand with your fingers. Put leaves in patterns, stack your food in a fun way. Make things, even if you hate the final product. Because society has made making art seem like a sin unless you immediately make something beautiful. Art shouldn't be about that. Its about expression, and fun. And you'll find eventually that those pieces you hated helped you get to the point you create something you love.
Dont ever stop making art.

[Id. An image of a black and orange snail on a white piece of paper. Above and below the snail there is text that reads "Rushing things is a scarcity mindset", "There is plenty of time for the thing you want to accomplish". End Id]

Disabled people with potentially hereditary conditions aren't being "irresponsible" and "immoral" if they want to have kids. To insist that a certain marginalized population inherently "shouldn't reproduce" regardless of individual circumstances is literally eugenics.

hot take but i think society is unable to differentiate between platonic and romantic attraction
when i was a kid, i was always told to "marry your best friend" and that friends come before romance, so my autistic brain internalised that as "romance is a step up from friendship", but i had no idea how big the actual step was. i thought i had a crush on someone when in reality i wanted to be friends with them, and when that fizzled out i wasn't actually dissatisfied
obviously now that i'm older i understand that it was a misunderstanding of what platonic attraction is, but it was a major difficulty throughout my childhood. and when almost every single show in your country has at least one straight couple that seems to have both romantic and platonic chemistry, it gets confusing for children to internalise, especially neurodivergent children
obviously i could go on about allonormativity, but the main point is that we aren't teaching children that friendship and romance exist on wholly different metrics. i'm more than aware that we shouldn't get into the "specifics" of attraction when teaching children, but if we're trying to combat heteronormativity and gender norms being shoved down their throats, then we ought to do the same for this, because humans are social creatures that deserve to know how different types of relationships actually work
that's my opinion at least
