Any trans man: Hey, can we not call reproductive health issues dealing with abortion & pregnancy "women's issues"? I can also get pregnant and in some ways an unwanted pregnancy can even be a significantly higher risk for me as a trans man. It's transphobic to say that men aren't affected by oppressive reproductive health laws, because you are actively excluding trans men from a conversation that very much needs to include them.

Some cis woman coming in to erase me: I'm not transphobic! I think trans women are women and when I talk about ~☆women's issues☆~ I'm including them!

Trans man: But you're excluding me! A man who is clearly more affected by unwanted pregnancy and abortion bans than probably any trans woman on the planet.

Cis woman: Well you shouldn't have become a man if you didn't want me to treat you like a man! Besides, I was *clearly* talking about cis men when I said "men," and you're obviously included when I say "women's reproductive health." Anyway, all men need to shut up about abortion and get vasectomies! I'm a feminist!

... Many such cases, unfortunately. It's absolutely rancid when a cis woman thinks the beginning and end of trans allyship is "trans women are women." Like, yes. Absolutely, and please keep being inclusive of trans women, but don't stop there. Give a fuck about other trans people too. Listen when trans men & transmascs have a unique perspective on cis-centric feminism, because you might realize that there's a whole facet of gender essentialism (transphobia) you're hanging onto. And if we're really lucky, you might realize that a failure to show up for trans men is a failure to show up for all trans people, including trans women.

So I was helping a friend figure out what to do with a wealth of tomatoes. She wants to dehydrate them and pack them in oil, and I thought, wait, that's really unsafe, right? But I've never tried it, so I went to the https://nchfp.uga.edu/ website, and a couple of Extension Office sites, just to make sure I had it right. I did: you can not preserve tomatoes long-term in oil safely. Throw them in olive oil, put the bottle in your fridge, eat within two weeks.

But the internet is FULL of well-paid garden bloggers who post exquisite photographs of food they will never actually eat alongside shit text like this:

TikTok (asshole of the world, I know, I’m sorry I’m subjecting you to it) has discovered the term ‘lavender marriage’ and decided to shift the definition to mean a man sinisterly pretending to be straight and using his hapless oblivious wife to as a beard and also applied this term to any couple where the husband has any interest in interior design, expresses emotions or acts like a human being in a domestic partnership instead of a douchebag. I know I made a post about it but I’m astounded by the new wave of homophobia I’m seeing creep into the public consciousness.

ideal living situation is what i call the 'sitcom special' : having all your closest friends live in the same apartment building or neighborhood where you each have your own space but can wander in and out of eachothers homes at will, seemingly always welcome and never at bad times. and also all of you only have jobs when its important to the plot.

this. this is what some people think trans men are. just naive girls hoping to gain rights via crossdressing. and then getting apparently their dreams crushed when it doesnt work out. as if trans men dont know that. how exhausting it is to wait for a hrt appointment. how dangerous it is to enter a public bathroom. how traumatic it is when not just your family but your own government activly hates you and wants to detrans you. but judging by this post it all doesnt matter. because trans men go through all that just in hopes to escape sexism while knowing full well that people would hate them anyway if not even more so for being trans...
