God wanted julian casablancas to be a disappointment to his father for losing his virginity at age 23 and being an autistic band geek reddit socialist, but instead hes living the off putting life style of a dork loser who has been afforded hipster cool guy status without actually being cool. He seems like he drinks to cope with social confusion

ahj and fab snuggling together on courtney love’s mtv special (24 hours of love) is the cutest thing. i love the strokes. there’s a ‘best of’ compilation on youtube but i can’t find the full show anywhere
Its so cute … im sure someone has the full show taped but idk the practicality of uploading 24 hours of footage without some sort of takedown … all i want is to see fab playing guitar poorly

okay this post had me thinking about how the other guys would react to casamond, soooo. little disclaimer that this is straight up rpf thinking. it’s mainly how i see them when writing or reading fics lol
nikolai: we all know that nikolai and jules are besties, so of course nikolai wants to support his friend but he’s so goddamn tired. he can’t keep up with it most of the time. there’s definitely been times where he takes julian out for a drink after jules is like, “okay. i did it. we’re over” but then contemplates jumping off of a building when julian says, “WERE BACK TOGETHER!!!” the very next morning. and it’s not that he hates albert or anything, they’re still friends, it’s just that now albert is his best friend’s boyfriend, ex, soulmate, mortal enemy, lover, etc. he probably wouldn’t fight it too much though because he still wants his friends to be happy.
nick: why do i feel like nick would be mad because that means he’s not getting the attention he wants in the group. definitely annoyed by them. rolls his eyes. side eyes them. has to hold his tongue from making some snide remark. i feel in my heart that one night he got really drunk though, and told julian something along the lines of, “man i'm really happy for you. actually. good for you.” but doesn’t remember it. “IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND YOUR UGLY FUCKING BOYFRIEND.” while nikolai is annoyed for friendship reasons, nick is definitely annoyed for band reasons. “Okay, so you guys said we were meeting at 10. Well, it’s 10 and neither of you are fucking here, either because you're fucking each other or fighting."
fab: oh puppy fab. he would happy for them. definitely invited them on double dates when he was still dating drew. awwwww the thought of all four of them going out is so sweet. i don’t think he’d have negative thoughts really, he just accepts that jules and albert are that type of couple. I always think about the meme that says, "bored af, I wanna ride in the car with a toxic couple to the state fair" when I think about casamond with fab. (I have a whole wip about this). fab + jules/albert also remind me SO MUCH of the friends episodes where joey has the hardest time keeping a secret about monica/chandlers relationship. soooo, i 100% think that he finds out first. maybe walks in on them or something and freaks. but then has to carry that burden around.

That’s the thing about the Strokes. We always want them to be something more than they probably are. These dudes […] were The Band Here To Save Rock ‘N’ Roll from the get-go. In one of the greatest smartass moves ever pulled, they famously named their debut album Is This It as a way to own the hype. People have always loved the Strokes—some of whom have probably never even heard a Strokes song. The Strokes are rock ‘n’ roll, whatever we perceive to be “rock 'n’ roll.“ Is This It is widely-considered to be one of the greatest records of all time. But last night (no pun intended) was the first time I’ve ever seen them perform live, and it was everything. - Noisey
Yet, while the Strokes are undoubtedly for lovers, they’re also for rockers at heart; it took all my restraint not to toss my camera gear aside and charge into one of the many mosh pits that erupted during the show-closing adrenaline shot of “Last Nite” and the walloping one-punch encore “New York City Cops”. What a splendid homage to this city by one of its most stellar contemporary acts. - Consequence of Sound
The Strokes were greeted like kings when they walked onstage on Saturday evening for their first New York City show in three years. […] Blasted from the main-stage speakers, latter-day cuts like "One Way Trigger” and “Machu Piccu” felt very much akin to such well-worn standards as “Hard to Explain” and “Reptilia,” as if the second half of the Strokes’ career has been thought-out much more than anyone believed previously. Their performance was a master class in the victory lap, done with ease in front of thousands of devotees. - Spin
