Not really a ship, but how people/relationships are shown in Bungou Stray Dogs (and within the fandom)
It is pretty obvious that Dazai and Chuyys used to be very close, close enough for the two to be able to depend their lives on the other even after Dazai left the Port Mafia and was declared a traitor. It's pretty saddening to know that people boil down their interactions. Chuuya knows Dazai enough to know when he's spouting absolute bullshit. but that's not what I was originally planning on talking about.
The manga and anime are very different in the sense of the way the art shows expression, I feel like the anime adds to the boiling-down of characters that have a bigger impact in the manga. Don't get me wrong, I love the anime. Chuuya is shown as a mafia executive, martial artist, gravity manipulator, Arahabaki's host, Dazai's ex-partner, a disgustingly loyal person that been betrayed time and time again with no way of expressing the trauma in ways other than through anger, and so much more. But somehow it gets ruined and wdjvfhdkghfvtisdb I dunno how to explain it but it really annoys me. Like, he gets boiled down to a tiny, angry redhead when he can be so much more.
I don't know how to explain this either, but just look at the difference in these two pictures, something about it just changes the atmosphere, the one from the manga seems a lot more serious than the anime. A bit off-topic, but the anime always softens Chuuya's expressions like in the helicopter scene, I love Chuyya in the anime but something about him is different. Yk what I mean?
Anybody wanna add to this? I want to see somebody rant.
