today is the first anniversary of princess peach showtime! 🎀

Mario teaches Bowser how to be a good guy on Mario Day.

I’m just imagining Peach is having some diplomats over to the mushroom kingdom. A prince and his entourage from another kingdom, maybe one more prosperous than the mushroom. Now the prince seems boastful and flirtatious. It is clearly irritating the people in the meeting. But peach is use to big personalities, so she holds her tongue. Being cordial and polite. Toadsworth himself was getting annoyed by this prince but peach assured her advisor it’s fine.

During the discussion, Mario walked in. Something he has done many times as the kingdom loves Mario and would let him go basically anywhere. Mario realizes he walked in on the meeting, he apologizes for interrupting.

The prince then mocks Mario calling him a classless fool. “Don’t you know not to interrupt an important discussion. Honestly you lowborn are so tactless!”

Mario apologizes and bows as he walks out. He doesn’t want to cause an international incident, he is sure peach can handle that guy anyway. Thats why she’s diplomatic and compassionate. Mario as he’s walking out worries that this prince might set up an engagement with peach. What if that’s the reason for the meeting!?

As he goes to turn around to go back. He sees two servants of the foreign kingdom carrying out the unconscious prince. The prince had a bump on his head and was out cold. Concerned, Mario rushes back to the room to see Toadstool and the other toads trying to calm down Princess peach.

After Mario left, princess peach requested the prince apologize to Mario for his rude comments. To which the prince retorted that he has no reason to apologize to servants and maintenance men. Peach slapped the prince so hard he flew into the wall, causing the massive bump on his noggin and him being unconscious. Peach told his ambassador party the trade agreement is off and until his kingdom delivers a formal apology for his actions, the mushroom kingdom won’t recognize the princes kingdom as a sovereign state, let alone allies.

It was a shock for sure.

Mario asks peach if she’s okay. Her anger turns to sorrow. She apologizes for that prince’s insulting words. She wishes she had said something before mario had left. Mario could tell peach needed a hug and opens his arms for her Comforting the princess. She accepts the hug. He assures her it didn’t bother him. Though Mario does ask toadsworth if they should be concerned about the other kingdom now.

“They aren’t really known for their military might… but we will be missing out on trade of some premium goods. Like golden tomatoes. And silky wheat, which I hear is great for making pasta.”

Mario felt like crying but held it in. He was comforting peach right now.
