Buy Scar 16S Rifle Online
Why is Scar 16s so expensive?
Scar 16s is a nice-looking rifle. It feels good and you can enjoy it.
Can I legally own a SCAR 16S?
Yes, you can! You can buy SCAR 16S online from many outlets. Here is one example that should be available in most states.
As soon as you can get a Title III license issued to you from the BATF, you can buy one and legally own it.
You can not, however, own a select-fire version of the Scar 16 without a special license called a SOT. You will only be able to purchase a civilian version that is semi-auto only. Personally, I think these rifles are overpriced. They are nice, but for over 2k you can get a lot of guns.
the civilian SCAR-17S is literally 97% identical to the issue SCAR-H/Mk17 AND other than the sear trip on the bolt carrier/FA trigger/hammer/sear all of the differences are after the fact modifications to the military model to facilitate various fine-tuning requirements that affect the cyclic rate in full auto and swappability of parts on heavily worn receivers at a later date in service life! (They mean nothing to an individual end-user).
That being said, the SCAR 16s rifle still has a loyal following among gun enthusiasts who are simply bored of the AR15 platform….gun enthusiasts like myself. The unique aspects of the SCAR 16 and the emotional connection to the rifle make it worth the money to us….a small minority in the gun world.
Can i buy Scar 16S online as a civilian?
Yes, as a civilian, you can buy Scar 16S online.
Scar 16S are excellent combat rifles. About the best rifles money can buy. But they're built for one thing and one thing only, and that is fighting.
They're designed to be reliable, light, and have minimal recoil. They achieve all of those things. But that means tradeoffs have to be made. It is not built to be a precision target rifle. It isn't inaccurate, but you can get more accurate rifles for much less money, and much more accurate rifles for about the same price.
The Scar is an excellent rifle. But like every tool, it has a certain job that it excels in, and there are other tools more suited to other jobs. The Scar’s role is fighting. If you're fighting or training to fight, the Scar is the Cadillac of weapons.
There are a lot of other weapons that will get the job done, but few will do the job as well as the Scar. But if you're like most civilians and you just want it to plink or shoot targets or go hunting, there are a lot of rifles that will do those jobs much better for a lot less money, because that's not what the Scar is meant for.
there are 2 models I am aware of the SCAR 16S, which is a 5.56 x 45 mm NATO, and the SCAR 17S, which is 7.62 x 51 mm NATO, both of which are semi-automatic and both are offered in matte black and flat dark earth colors.
The only downside is, that they are about $2,800 (SCAR 16 5.56) and $3,000 for a SCAR 17 (7.62x51 NATO), of course, these are only Semi-auto.
Is a SCAR rifle worth the money?
It really depends. In some opinion, the SCAR 16S price is very much worth it. The SCAR 16S on the consumer market in the USA is priced at or near many other AR10 rifles. Furthermore, the SCAR 16S excels at being light and accurate and being able to change barrels and calibers easily.
