Both these cemetery scenes are about belonging and feeling seen. One is a vulnerable moment that highlights the connection between two men. The other has Tommy literally blending into the tree behind him while his boyfriend spent all episode bonding with a corpse.
In 6x15, Buck stands shoulder to shoulder with Eddie. The camera and their positioning invites the viewer into the scene to stand with them. It’s an honest, vulnerable moment that reveals some truths and brings them closer.
Meanwhile, 8x05 has the camera pointed up at Buck cuz the scene is between Buck and Billy. The viewer isn’t in Buck’s eyeline, and Tommy literally blends into the scenery. The entire episode highlights all the ways Tommy isn’t anything more than backdrop in Buck’s world.

9-1-1 AU: Demon Buck corrupts priest Eddie. [x]
"Let him go," Eddie demands, simmering with rage. "And why would I do that?" The voice is Buck’s, except it’s twisted, fractured somehow, crackling with a malice that sets Eddie’s nerves on fire. "He’s such a delicious vessel. So much pain. So much fear. So...much." The demon chuckles, low and menacing. "Do you have any idea what he thinks about when he’s alone at night?" Eddie doesn't dignify that with a response. He knows where this is going, and he refuses to have the conversation. Not now, not when Buck is trapped in his own body, fighting for control. "He’s terrified, you know," the demon taunts, leaning closer, as if to share a secret. "You should hear the way he cries out for you in his nightmares. It’s...intoxicating." "Shut up!" Eddie’s voice cracks, anger laced with desperation. He needs to do something—anything—to make sure this thing doesn't harm Buck. "Oh, it gets better." The demon smirks, relishing the torment he’s causing. "Buck’s been praying. But not to God. No, no...he’s been praying to you," the demon says, voice slick with oily delight. "He’s been begging you to save him, Eddie. Isn’t that tragic?" Eddie swears he can feel his heart crater. Buck has always put entirely too much faith in him. "Take me," he says, voice trembling with conviction. "Ruin me. But not Buck," he pleads. "I'll do anything. Just let me save him." "Nothing sweeter than a holy man on his knees for me," the demon murmurs. A dark smile spreads like smoke across Buck's face, and he watches as Eddie falls.

- "Blue Graffiti by Calahan Skogman weaves nostalgia and longing into a poignant exploration of small-town life. Set in Johnston, Wisconsin, it follows Cash, a young man tethered to his roots by love and loss. When a mysterious stranger named Rose enters his life, Cash finds himself grappling with the familiar comforts of home and the intoxicating allure of something new.
The novel's meditation on the nature of small-town life is both a love letter and a lament. Skogman captures the beauty and melancholy of a place where time seems to stand still. The quiet moments—like sitting by the lake, listening to good music, having an honest conversation with a friend, or the simple act of watching the stars—are imbued with a sense of timelessness. Blue Graffiti hums with warmth and affection for the overlooked corners of America, and the people who inhabit them.
This novel will resonate with anyone who has ever felt the pull of home, the weight of loss, and the desire for something more. If you liked The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton or On the Road by Jack Kerouac, you’ll definitely want to check this out!"
Blue Graffiti will be available to purchase Aug. 13. Read the full (spoiler-free!) advance review courtesy of the brilliant @butyoureyessaidyes:
