They have the most beautiful crucifix at St. Isabel’s Catholic Chuch on Sanibel. I could almost hear Christ reminding us to keep our eyes on God and to commend our lives into His hands.

We are called to love and not to judge. When we label people-  all conservatives are this way, all liberals are that way - we judge and develop prejudices.

As Little Mary works in her garden, she finds herself surrounded by God‘s handiwork – beautiful flowers and butterflies. She knows that she only planted the seeds. It was God who sent the nourishing rain and the warm sunlight to cost their growth. She thinks of her own growth in the Lord, how the Lord calls her to be a new creation, made in his image. We are each called to lead the safety of our cocoon and spread the love of Jesus.

Little Mary loves to sing but is afraid to join her church’s choir. Mary’s parents teach her that, just as eaglets learn to fly by leaving behind the safety of the ledge, Mary needs to step out in faith, believing that the Lord will lift her up, or she may never know the joy of soaring on the wind.

Little Mary visits a farm with her parents, and she is concerned when she sees a heavy wooden yoke being placed on the neck of an ox. Mary's parents explain that the work of pulling a plow is easier when two animals are yoked and pulling together. They use the opportunity to teach Mary that when we are yoked with Jesus, it means that He is always with us, helping us bear the burdens of life. We only need to pray three simple words, “Jesus, help me."
