For a moment, she simply regards him; well aware that he most likely won’t take her word for it and go to bed, even if he clearly needs to. “Our lieutenant will be here by nine, and you’re much more becoming when you don’t look half dead.” She teased instead, running a hand over his hair to come to rest at the back of his neck fondly. “Come to bed.”

His irritation persists, despite his best efforts, against Miranda’s placation--but the very mention of Lieutenant McGraw is enough to throw him off kilter, eyes widening slightly as a heat rises to his face. He huffs, amused and perhaps embarrassed at his own predictability.

“If you insist,” he says, not the least bit reluctant as he steps forward. He won’t get much done in this mindset, in any case.
